[Q] - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a stock fc09 MTD kernel, that has no voodoo color, voodoo sound or any other tweaks, but has the led fixed? My epic hates voodoo color. If there is not can somone please make one?
Im New here but not to android for everyone who does not know who I am this may refresh your memory

CM9 for Epic is missing 5 of the 8 motion sensors usable in Gingerbread. This apparently is the cause of auto-rotation not working for the minority of users. Many of these users are able to make auto-rotation work by calibrating sensors using the temporary sdcard EL30. Thanks to Joseph Shugzda for identifying this issue!

Your phone hates voodoo color or you just never adjusted it?
Oh and no there isnt a stock mtd kernel with the led fix. Without voodoo mods.

Yeah it hates it i tryed messing with the the settings in voodoo many times either the color looks wrong i dont get the green flash but if the color is perfect I get the green flash, the best results is in any stock kernel, cm7 kernel and cm9 kernel.

Have you tried just recently? I know marcusant and Earthbound kernels have implemented the green screen fix.

I try. I haven't heard any complaints of green screen lately. I have some pretty good values of you want those... I can get em tomorrow. They are the ones in my video minus the -60 Gama cuz that's too low and it was just to prove a point.

Sorry meant to say, what ever colors that are set on a stock ei22, el30 or fc09 kernel are perfect for me at least.

There are no settings once voodoo color is introduced into the kernel that make it look like stock.
Stop trying to change the guy's mind and either build him what he's asked for several times or steer him in some helpful direction towards what he's looking for.

And you're no worse? I'm not trying to convince him of anything I actually trying to help him fix his issue with voodoo before he decides completely he doesn't want it. There is a giant difference between ignorance and stupid... android people can be ignorant at some points but iSheep will always be stupid. By the way I don't see how you helped at all in this thread other than argue with me...

problem though here is that most people will use a higher RGB like 240-269 for red and green and is is usally 320 to about 380.
This is coming form someone who loves voodoo i haven't had an issue using settings that low but i like to have it higher as i suggested.

No voodoo on my tablet and I hate it. Colors are so washed out but the voodoo colors on my Epic are......well........epic! Blacks are black not grey. And I can read this 4 " screen better than the 8" tablet.

Definitely want to see more ics options! Maybe with nova launcher baked in since the others have apex or trebuchet launchers already out. If you can Get wifi calling goin since dark side evo 2 is the only ics rom with it in it right now that would be the shizznit. And try ASOP theme like the gnexus. Good luck and may the force be with you

If you are going to let your phone set for 3 days, why even have a smartphone.
This is what I was thinking of doing, but forgive me for asking this. If I root the GN will I be able to update it when any of the updates come out? I was thinking that rooting wouldn't allow me to do this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I just got my nexus, running stock on android 4.0.2 with the extended battery.
I'm getting about 4-5 hours tops before the phone is dead.

Is there a way to edit the JB lockscreen "ripple" ?

you guys are FAR more advanced then I, but i wanted to know if there's a way to edit the "ripple" when you touch the lockscreen on JB to maybe have the four corners "ripple" out the nexus colors? (Red/yellow/blue/green) or maybe even make it ripple out a certain effect like a targeting system? Im just brainstorming at the moment and have a ton more ideas but what do you all think and if so where/who do I need to talk to about this?

Galaxy Nexus screen color fix needed

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but I tried to search online still can't find any good explanation how to fix the Galaxy Nexus screen colors? It has a yellow tint compared to GS3 or the GS2. Can someone point me what zip, or ROM or kernel to flash?

You can try the Trinity kernel http://www.derkernel.com/jb-tuna.php , release or last Experimental version. It has no yellow by default .
The thread related to this kernel is here. So, if you have any question, you can ask them there. Trinity community is very helpfull.

I'm quite happy with the 'CM default' color multiplier settings of CM10 M1. You don't need an entire ROM for changing the colors though, just a custom kernel with color control is sufficient. You could try one of the following kernels:
- Franco.kernel
- Trinity
- GlaDOS
does cm10's color multiplier settng help reduce the yellow tint on the screen? i have seen such problem wth moto droid razr too. it has a yellowish tint which makes the images look too darker and kinda bad while s2 has a good screen the whites are good. earlier i thought its the problem of AMOLED screens but after seeing the quality in s2 i believe its the problem with the settings of nexus and droid razr..
Use trinity kernel. The stock trinity colours are exactly what you want.

What happened to voodoo?

Does anyone know what happend to the voodoo audio and display controls ?I remember it from my epic but haven't heard of it since I switched ....
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
No need for it on this phone... the GS1 series of phones had over saturation and (allegedly) poor sound on stock (sounded fine to me). But all is well on the GS3 even the gs2 didn't need mods for it. So I guess the voodoo guy figured if it ain't broke don't fix it. Although he may want to work on something for the GNEX. When I had mine the first thing I thought was why does my screen have a purple tint...

Check over in the OG Epic general forums. Shinydude had a convo with Supercurio about the future of Voodoo sound and all. By what I read, Supercurio was working on a new version of Voodoo sound, but this "new version" would be a closed sourced project :/ So developers wi not be able to inject it/incorporate it into the kernel like the old Voodoo app

I too paid for the VooDoo control App. But I never used it for the color. I only used it for the sound because the Epic had such low volumes. I just got my GS3 a few days ago & first impressions are that VooDoo will not be needed for me.
We can't use voodoo sound we don't have exynos boards so we don't have wolfsen dac's. We have qcomm made dac's. Not to say one is better I believe their both on par with each other. I did here were going to be getting voodoo louder to boost the maximum output of our audio processors but that's about it.

No support for Voodoo Color is the reason I haven't moved from the Epic to the S3 yet. It is not as bad as the stock Epic but it is still far too cool (7500-8000k ) with no way to correct it properly.
A more detailed analysis of the S3, and the Galaxy S.. Both are way over-saturated and too blue, but the Galaxy S is much more "blueish".
