First, almost all non-stock features have been coded by myself. Of course there are a few that I didn't write, but this ROM is minimal but unique.
Features include:
* Crossbones Welcome app for showing a changelog with each new release
* CPU Settings built into Settings app
* A custom kernel with tons of governor/scheduler choices
* Quick Settings menu from icon in the notification bar (new with this release, screenshot in OP)
* Extended Power options (I did not write this code)
* The MMS Split code I wrote way back when
* GooManager preinstalled for OTA updates.
I forget what else is in the ROM that's different from stock. Also, some things about the Gnex version are different than the Nexus S version. I've been working on this project for the past 6 months and I've forgotten some of the things that I've changed from stock. I guarantee there are some unique features that will be expanded upon, for example, I'm very excited to get more work done on the Quick Settings
Please do not start requesting features. I have a list of things I need to change/add. Sadly, I don't have the time to work with the ROM all the time, I have a job, two kids, and I'm getting married next Saturday (provided it doesn't rain) :victory:

yes very nice it's very useful to get fast into the settings eg bluetooth for visibility. can't wait for the next update
btw i noticed that the touch recovery is sometimes very laggy on scrolling and it chooses other action. for example i choose "install zip" and it chooses "advance settings"

I would recommend using GooManager to select, order, and flash zips. Just make sure that TWRP is installed. You can install it through GooManager.
I don't develop the recovery itself, so I'm not sure why it would be laggy. I've never had a lag issue using GooManager though, and did write the select, order, and flash code
If its GooManager you're having an issue with, talk to the guys at goo.im about that one.

Public test releases of Crossbones 2.0 (Jellybean) are available from the following link.

Standard JB gapps from goo.im work perfectly.
This release does not include a custom kernel at this point, but a lot of work has been done.

Hello everyone,
Crossbones ROM is now available on ROM Manager.
Currently, if you are a premium user, RM will not detect an update for Crossbones if you are on a version less that 0.2.0 (which has yet to be released). So once, 0.2.0 IS released, RM will notify you of an update

Tested and ran 0.2.0 a few days ago and I was amazed that it ran as smooth as it did clocked at 1.4. No matter what kernel supported 1.4 I wasn't nearly as stable as SZ's. U guy did a hellava job on this. Yes, all the options aren't I. There just yet, like AOKP and others. By this thing was light weight and quick. Give the DEVs sometime for them MODs. Don't think these guy are into KANG.

ABOUT THIS ROM:
This is a KANG/UNOFFICIAL CM9 version built from CM9 sources. It has some cherry-picks from Gerrit, that I find interesting and enhance the rom to be better feature wise.
I will be doing builds on daily basis (mostly on morning EU time), atleast until CM starts to rollout nightlies on normal schedule.
As I said in the beginning, this is purely been a learning experience to work with Android source and building it from the scratch.
I might be doing something completely different (own rom based on something) when I have gained more experience. If you are interested to start something, pm and let's see if we can get something out of it
WHY??
I know there are many many many CM9 roms/kangs floating around, so why did I post this? For a simple reason: It has been a learning experience for me to work with source and building android. This is my first complete android build, and I find CM9 to be a good starting point.
INCLUDED IN THIS ROM (Basic features):
- Synced to cm9 repo today 12.4.2012
- Includes all the CM9 features that have been merged until now
- Includes few cherry picks from Gerrit (see list below)
- Default CM based kernel
- The default CM9 bells and whistles
CHERRY-PICKS from CM Gerrit
- AudioManager: Handle KEYCODE_VOLUME_MUTE
- Settings: Notification light(LED) settings
- NavigationBar : Customization+ Settings
- Make the flash off indicator visible
- Makes network mode toggle work. Port from CM7.
- camera: allow setting parameter "video-size" before recording starts
- MMS: Make notifications consistent with the Gapps'.
- Phone: Disable accelerometer sensor while in-call and screen UI is off
- Fix don't interrupt ongoing PIN/PUK verification
Install instructions (first install):
1) Download zip to your phone
2) Also download GAPPS from http://goo.im/gapps
3) Boot to CWM
4) DO A FULL WIPE IN RECOVERY (a must if you are coming from another rom)
5) Flash the ROM .zip
6) Flash GAPPS .zip
7) Reboot
8) PROFIT???
About updating:
It should be safe to do "dirty flashes" between builds, unless I say otherwise. But ofcourse if you run to problems between builds, do a wipe first (use f.ex TiBu to backup apps) and try again. It's always possible that some feature gets broken or some cherry-pick ****s up things....but hey these are nightlies right?
To users/flashers
It would be nice if you could test this, and if you have some features found on Gerrit what you would like to see implemented, just post here and I'll check it out and maybe include it in the next build
I honour all feedback from you guys..the more the better so I can learn more.

2.-If you ask for how to build yourself cm9, this is the manual: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Galaxy_Nexus_(GSM):_Compile_CyanogenMod_(Linux)

I also enjoyed your work on the Nexus S. Glad to see you here.
I have something weird going on. I'm running JB stock and I can view the 2nd page of this thread but not the first. Tapatalk will force close. No other threads do this on any other page. Could someone post the link to the download or loads of this ROM on page 2 or 3 so I can download it. My computer is at work and I want to try this one

No problem gonna back up and flash now should be back in 30min or so with a reply
Edit:
So after going in I've found the rom is smooth no real crashes even tested a Franco kernel
I'm sure as you update you'll probably add more customization but one thing I'll point out is that your quick settings control should be integrated with the settings not as a side app because that confused me trying to find it

Vanilla - stock 4.1.2 AOSP, which Maguro has anyway unlike Verizon where my phone lives
French Vanilla - this is it, the ROM I posted here... it has Kevdiu's Quick Toggles MOD, Enhanced Power Menu, Expanded Desktop, Recent Apps menu clear all, etc
Chocolate Milk = CM = CyanogenMOD - something I was toying around with to replace the Modded ROM because there were so many requests for features I thought a CM based ROM might make more sense. I don't think I'm going to continue it but if I do another version has to go.
I think I like the lighter modded ROM. I can't do 3 different versions of a ROM x 6 devices. As it is it feels like all I do is mess with Android.

just flashed, im going to test and report asap... thank you
edit :well, rom is super fast, using trinity kernel, its just awsome , im going to use it for a long time, thanks for the rom.
I was looking for a ROM exactly like this one - mostly stock with the Quick Settings mod. I've flashed it and it's running beautifully; no problems so far (granted, it's only been about 30 minutes). I'm planning to try flashing some other kernels with it just for fun.
EDIT: tried Franco kernel and lean kernel. Both smooth, but I can't really see a difference from the stock kernel. (Lean is overclocked so obviously faster.)
hey muzzy ! nice to see your rom developing here ! i saw your rom over at toro , was rather hoping you started here ! Dling now and hope to see more development in this if you dont mind , i can be your tester for maguro .
This is perfect! My maguro is right now in service but after it comes back I'll flash it!
Actually I wanted to make just the same ROM - everything stock but with few additions and you made it just as I wanted.
If you'd like to have some help with developing this ROM - PM me, I'd love to help!
This rom seems awesome! Omg this is exactly what my maguro wants Will flash when I come home! Holy **** this will be good

On my phone I haven't bothered flashing kernels in a while. I think that's mainly because I spend so much time compiling ROMs I don't actually get to use them.

Initial Build.
Sooo.... what is RRO Layers? RRO Layers or Layers for short is a theme engine that is similar to CM12 Theme but better. Cm12 theme enging is limited to just the system. On layers, everything can be themed including dialer, youtube, gmail etc. It is all a work in progress. Also layers is more secure (or so I read). More info, along with how to set it up can be found in the link below;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/official-layers-bitsyko-apps-rro-t3012172
Below is links to some layers

https://plus.google.com/communities...9/stream/d31773fe-c129-4ede-bab0-869bc7870274
Instructions: go to the above website and follow instructions to down the app. Once installed, download one of the theme zips. Extract the theme zip and move those files to the other directory. Go into the layers app, then go to the other overlays folder. long press the desired apks (make sure they are highlighted), then press the 2 cards button. It iwill ask you to reboot, click on it, and when it reboots, your theme will be active..
If you find any more themes, please post the link.
Good luck and Happy Theming!
