[Q] Marketplace download limit - Nokia Lumia 900

Is there any way to bypass the download limit at marketplace?
Or is there another way to download more than 20MB files whit 3g/lte. (whitout wifi or zune) 3rd part program??
I don't have wifi at my home and fumbling with computer is frustrating.

HTC Home Customizer

I am trying to view the download page(in HTC Home Customizer) on the HTC TyTn, while tethered to my laptop and realized I have to disconnect the two to access the web. Is it possible to utilize the laptop's connection to the internet (DSL) while the TyTn is tethered to access the web?
I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if you can use your DSL connection AND your tethered connection at the same time? If that's your question, the answer is NO. If not, please specify.
I am trying to use my laptop's connection to the internet (DSL) to view the download page of HTC Home Customizer. It won't allow me, and I have to disconnect my phone from my laptop and use the phones own connection instead.
Is there a way to use the laptop's DSL connection to view the download page?

Your question is vague. Are you having a tathering problem or a DSL problem? If DSL, then ........, n e way try your DSL CS.

yes it is possible, I use my DSL connection for my pocket pc when it is connected through Active Sync. Just make sure if you have any firewall running on your PC, i.e like zone alarm, to let active sync pass through for any internet requests.
I believe the question is can the download page for the application be viewed on his laptop... I don't think the dsl is the issue, he just wants to see what downloads are available using the larger, more userfriendly LCD of the laptop and thereby utilizing the working DSL connection...
The answer is "Only if you know the url...". The url for the preview page is http://www.pocketemu.com/hhc/preview/bg.html - unfortunately, I cannot pull up the address for the download site, but maybe you can post in the forum or ask emunutz directly...
I can view the preview page ok whilst using my my pocket pc when it is connected through Active Sync. What I cannot view is the downloads page. It states 'Server could not be contacted. Please check your data connection and/or try again later.'

WIFI issue at work, Market cannot download apps

I have a weird WIFI issue only at work, Android Market cannot download apps or games.
I can browse the internet, and look at news, weather, google etc just fine.
Sometimes the internal Mail app also gives a error saying it cannot connect. but the Gmail app is fine.
I have an orange 500 MB connection, and only got my phone yesterday. i calculate using 100MB in a day over 3g already Worrying.
Ok, got it.. Proxy issue.
I wonder if it is possible to go the other way to tethering, use the PC's internet connection on the phone? I could do that with activesync. hmm.
Only certain ports are allowed over wireless where I work, so market doesn't work for me either.

Downloading Apps without WiFi

OK, my office SSID is hidden.
I purchased two apps that were over 20 mb, so I have to be connected to wifi or a PC to download.
According to the "manual" just plugging the phone in and launching the zune client should add the applications when connecting to a PC, but it doesn't.
It just keeps the same error on them.
Anyone know how to force it to download the apps?

That should answer you question - I'm in the exact same position, I was the last person to comment in the above thread :/
Even after I connected to WiFi it didn't work, I had to tell it to resume manually, so there might be a step there when connecting to a PC, exit out of the zune software, tell it to restart and then load back up the zune software.
I haven't tried it yet though.

[Q] WiFi hotspot as server?

I want to be able to switch on my WiFi hotspot, connect a laptop to it, and move data to and from the phone's storage as if the phone was acting as a server. Is this at all possible? Essentially I want to use the phone as a portable server for computers that I service in the home for clients. I want to be able to access my tools and software and files by connecting the client's laptop to my phone's wifi hotspot and then browsing to the server on that network to access the files. Anything to make this possible? Thanks in advance!
You're better off using a flash drive and just plugging into the computers...
It'd be slow and cumbersome even if you could get it to work.
I can only plug one flash drive into one computer at a time. Would really like to make this work, if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

WiFi Tether won't connct to Internet

I'm running AOKP toro Jelly Bean MR1 Build 2 and using the native tether app with that ROM. I just crossed the 4GB data limit on my plan, but it's set to just bill me an extra $10 for 1GB, so i don't think that's the issue.
I can access the internet and any website on the phone itself, but when i tether to my laptop the internet does not work. I can access the google sites, send a receive email, access google drive and edit documents. Local dropbox folder "cannot establish secure connection" and i cannot access any site on the internet other than google and google search results. Never had this kind of issue before so i'm a bit lost as to what to try. I've restarted the computer, shut down and rebooted the computer, rebooted the phone, turn on and off the mobile data etc and nothing seems to work.
Any troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.
