hello guys,in past i have tried several roms without any hasle, but now i have a problem..
got stuck on boot (alpharev img of joker) after i try install runnymede aio rom, tried and installed cm7 rom but in that one when phone go to sleep, when it wakes i lose my network...
does anyone please have a clue what could be?
tried search, dont flame at me please.
based on limited information, my guess is that you haven't created an ext partition on your sd card.
details on whether a partition is required should be found on each rom's first few posts.
use 4ext or gparted to create the partition.
losing signal may be due to you needing to upgrade your radio (again guessing as you need to provide more info)
a sorry here is info:
its s-off
latest radio
1 gb sd-ext 4
4 ext recovery
problem is that now i cant install that rom again, right now i did full wipe, flashed rom, installed it good and now there is "why so serious?" img 10min and counting

Hi Magicius,
What is your current radio? Maybe you might need to upgrade to more recent radio (5.17.05.08, or the latest, 5.17.05.23). What happens when you wake the device, do you recover signal at all? If that is the case how strong is it?
There is a fix for this, when you lose signal during screen sleep. All you have to do is install cpu master or setcpu, and then increase the minimum cpu speed up a bit, try 384 mhz, and then keep increasing until you stop losing signal when the device sleeps. Don't put minimum higher than 576mhz, also make sure to tick set on boot. Only try the above if you have this problem with every rom, if not then flash another rom.
ok i changed hboot to stock and installed nikez lante ics,so far so good, maybe i screwed something with hboot before... have signal, will test it for some longer time before i change rom

Hi all!
I have recently let my HTC "Desire out of the closet", and since I did that the phone freezes whenever GSM data is transfered.
It works absolutely great when set in WCDMA-only mode.
The phone currently has the following attributes:

I've flashed my way from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 and now on the 2.6.35.14-snq-110913 kernel.
Now lets see if it stays stable....

Nope, the phone is still locking up... And still only in GSM mode.
The phone was completely whiped and does not have any third party apps installed and is still behaves this way.
Any other ideas?
which mode are you?
try "wdcma/gsm auto prl"
I had 2 freezes with snq 110913, running LeeDroid 3.3.3 HD Data++, once in wcdma mode, once in gsm auto prl. Both times while I was on my 3g network while the screen was off it froze and I couldn't wake my phone, had to pull the battery. Try the new kernel 110916 haven't had any problems yet but haven't had a lot of time yet on 3g. Also change my freq. in setcpu, smartassv2 245-1036, s/off 245-576 and that seems to help my phone run smoother too.

Try the GingerCakes 0.6a kernel by bananacakes. Was working like a charm on IC 1.1.4 for me.
OK, I have found a stable setup!
I've applied the snq 110911 kernel and I replaced my EXT4 partitioned SD card with an EXT3 partitioned SD card. Now the phone's been stable since 07:00 this morning. (That's by far the longest stable period I've had on IC 1.1.2, 1.1.3 or 1.1.4)
The trick seemed to be to go from EXT4 to EXT3. I cannot explain it but as I had an unstable environment with IC 1.1.4, 110911 kernel,EXT4 partition and I have a stable environment with IC 1.1.4, 110911 kernel, EXT3, it seems to be something here.
Any thoughts on why this might be?
Please help me
A couple of days ago, I changed my Micro SD card (without moving the files from the old SD card to the new one) so my phone kept on putting the loading screen, and after that, I planned to wipe and then re-install my ROM. I switched the phone to recovery mode, and by mistake after wiping (maybe before, I don't remember :/ ), I chose the option "wipe cache partition" so I was unable to flash this ROM again after that. then I downloaded the ROM "ICS for desire (sanvold)" v. 0.4.4 Beta, and it worked! but Wifi did not work! (when I enter the WiFi settings and turn it on, it keeps on saying "Turning Wi-Fi on..." even after it's turned on! and if I turn it on using the widget, or from the main settings screen in the wireless and networks (without entering to the WiFi settings) and after it's turned on, I enter the WiFi settings and there is nothing but the blue background screen). Bluetooth can be turned on and can be seen by others, but the problem is that my laptop said that it couldn't send a file to it, but maybe it's because of the laptop not the phone so it's not that problem, but my main problem is the Wi-Fi.

I have flashed the radio 5.17.05.23
So my question is, what's the problem with the Wi-Fi? why isn't it working? how can I fix it? thanks in advance and sorry for making this long

My old ROM (which I had before this problem happened) did not work when I flashed it again
the other ROM which is "ICS For Desire by Sanvold" worked and I flashed it, but the Wi-Fi is still not working so it doesn't work :/ is there any other solutions please??

You need an ext4 partiton for most roms!!Make one using 4ext recovery or gparted !!
PM me if you have anymore problems!
wifi problem
hey, same problem here. did you fix it?
installed aokp ics a few days ago, everything was fine. then my desire fell on the ground and wifi worked anymore. flashed back to leedroid final, wifi worked one time, after rebooting not anymore. checked the antenna, but that was fine. flashed ics another time, everything is working except wifi.
before i read this thread i thought my wifi-modul is broken, but now i got hope that is a sd-card problem?
btw. always did a full wipe.
radio is 5.11.05.23
sd-card could be ext3, 1gb. not sure right now...

Clear data for Google Services Framowork and problematic apps and reboot. When you reboot the phone connect to some of the google apps via mobile network and then try via wifi. You'll maybe need more then one try.

Hi XDA people,
This is my first post in XDA and its a problem i am facing. Whenever i switch to GSM/WCDMA Mode and start using the 3G internet, the phone restarts with 5 - 7 vibrating alerts. I did searched this forum before posting and got similar posting for HTC Buzz
BIG ISSUE: 3G problem..!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823816
Went through that and found out that by updating the radio this problem can be fixed, so went ahead to find the udpated radio and hboot and updated them using RUU, got a tutorial for the same in XDA forums
So updated Radio from 7.53.39.03M to 7.54.39.28M
Hboot : 1.08.0000
But the problem is still there, as soon as i switch it to 3G mode, i can see the H symol comes up for the GPRS and the network changes to R (Roaming- no clues why this happens but i am fine with this as long it works.) and within minutes it restarts making 5-7 vibrating alerts before rebooting.
can someone help me with this, is there a way to fix this for HTC Wildfire S (Marvel)

it happened to me, the only solution I found was flash the backup of my original Rom Sense PREROOT, turn on 3G and check that it worked.
Then without turning off the 3G flash another rom clean (a bit like the problem of the gps).
is a bit long but I was going crazy, my Willy sometimes restarted.
it may be useful with my HTC Buzz it worked ... but you're rooted?

Yes i am rooted, also i dont have any stock backup
I read in the forums that in HTC buzz if you update to an older radio then wipe cache then update to a higher radio version it fixes it, but i need to find out if that would work for MARVEL, and what would be versions that i should switch to.
thanks for the help

I have posted my question after a lot of search, got similar threads for BUZZ but none for MARVEL, can you please help.

Well, I don't know anything about the Marvel. Both phones are quite different besides their names and enclosure.
Anyway I don't think that your phones radio will be touched when flashing a ROM or restoring a nandroid backup or that you could wipe, clear or format your radio partition - so in theory it could work with the Marvel, too.
A short explanation about the whole thing: The Buzz has well known issues with the radio (no GPS or BT, WiFi probs) - even directly after rooting and flashing the first custom ROM. There's also a chance that something might go wrong or get messed up when flashing different ROMs, installing tweaks etc. and the problem is that the radio resides on a separate partition which can't be wiped or formatted. All this sounds pretty logical to me but I'm not a developer so I might be totally wrong
The solution seems to be to flash a different radio (older/newer doesn't matter) to "overwrite" the current one - and sometimes reflash the current ROM again.
The problem I had has been hard to spot and even harder to solve. Luckily I found out that switching on 3G initiated the reboots (after quite a while and by accident, really). I made a lot of tests and could put it down to that (WiFi, 2G had no probs - phone rebooted only when switching to 3G or switching on data when 3G has been activated/chosen).
Furthermore I found the "solution" by accident, too: I reflashed the current radio without any success. Then I also tried an older radio - no success. So, as a final attempt, I started to download a RUU to reset the phone to factory condition.
The download server has been awful slow - it took ages to download the file - so I (almost randomly) decided to flash the previous radio again.
I couldn't believe it: that did the trick. (Luckily) I rebooted again, switched on data and 3G and noticed that the phone didn't reboot anymore.
So if you're able to flash a different radio - just give it a try. For the Buzz you need to be S-OFF to flash a radio - no idea about your phones.
I'd be glad if that would work for the Marvel, too :fingers-crossed:
I found this tread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485345
if you do not solve in any other way you could give it a try
I do not know the Marvel, but the Buzz htc are not all the same, the same solution to different results :silly:

Hi.
Long time reader, first time poster. Or a "noob"
I have flashed the release of Evervolvs excellent P1 JB a few days ago. Everything worked fine up until today when the OS froze. I rebooted and it froze again. I rebooted and now I do not have any data connectivity. I have the H but the bars are constantly grey instead of blue as per usual.
When I installed it I made a back-up. I have flashed that and the problem still occurs.
I have done a full wipe and reflashed and still the same problem.
Could the radio firmware have become corrupt?
I have to confess I am not experienced in flashing a new radio and I am somewhat apprehensive of doing it.
I have rooted, S-Off and have a 1GB EXT4 partition.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dude...what do you expect? It's a pre-alpha.
You just flash a radio from recovery. Not such a big deal.
Also, last time I checked there was a dedicated q&a thread for that. Did we really need another praise here?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
@ Lars: I know what you mean. It is a nice mod but nog really trustworthy for everyday use. Losing the connection and fc, sometimes takingout the battery and reboot is the only solution.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
It happens, however I've never had any major issues with P1 so far. It's pre-alpha, but I believe fully suitable for a daily use. You can always reflash it or do a factory reset if you bump into any problems. I would have expected people to be prepared for occasinal problems while using custom ROMs If reflashing and wiping everything didn't help, I would try a different ROM. If that does not help, you are probably experiencing HW problems.
Thanks for all the replies.
It turns out it was a network failure, but it all coincided with my phone rebooting
Before I look a total chump, I would like to add that I was using Evervolvs ICS and lost data connectivity after long periods of inactivity ie overnight. I had to turn data connectivity on and off to get it to connect. I thought this problem was one and the same with JB. So there was logic to my madness.
I have narrowed the rebooting issue to the Facebook widget, so I have removed it and all is stable :highfive:
Would anybody recommend flashing a more up to date radio or should I stick with "If it is not broke, dont fix it" mantra? Which I am inclined to do.
Thanks again for the replies.
Lars
Hello guys,
1) I am using Nikez Jelly Bean: Evervolv Turba 3.1.0p1 for a few weeks now but every 3 or 4 days it suddenly gets EXTREMELY slow, for example it needs about 10 seconds to turn off the screen. But the phone is not really crashed, its just so slow like the CPU is working with 10 MHz... This seems to happen randomly.
When restart by removing and inserting the battery it has hardresetted itself. The apps are deleted but their appdata exists.. The homebutton and the trackball dont work anymore. My messages and my settings have also been deleted.
This also happens with the JellyNow Rom.
Is this a software or a hardware problem? What do you think?
2) My Titanium Backup doesnt backup any apps but their data, respectively i cant restore the apps themselves but their appdata... Do you know why?
Greetings
Elo

I had similar issue before and when it usually happens within a day after I flashed it or recovered it. I am not very sure if the current ROM (running safe for 2 days now) is really safe from crashing again, but this is what I think happened.
the sd-ext partition at 4GB sometimes cuases issues, especially of somehow everytime I flashed it it reverted back to ext2 back when I was using CWM recovery (maybe cause my backup was made when it was still a ext2 partition). But I have since changed it to 2GB, used 4EXT recovery to convert my sd-ext to ext4, and I updated my ROM... Not sure which one did the trick, but so far it hasn't reset on my.
