Running 4.0.4 based rom.
Tried Root Explorer/System/Apps/ Deleted Calander & widget apks
Then when I tried installing TouchwizCalander apk it wont let me..
Is it the rom or have I done something wrong?
It wont install like a normal app. You have to push it to /system/app/ and set permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot.

Does anyone know a way to get AOSP email working on and EPIC running midNIGHT rom 4.1? After I install the AOSP email zip in clockwork all I get is force closes and I have to revert back to the stock email app.
Did you try clearing the email apps caches?
Also, did you try just putting the apk on your sdcard and then copy it to the /system/app folder
I have installed stock 4.2.2 & is it just me or have people noticed music & various other widgets have vanished?

Click to collapse
If that helps in any way, there is nothing missing here :/ I installed the stock 4.2.2 this morning and I have all the widgets...
Maybe it's a problem with the .zip stock ROM?? Maybe they will work just fine if you re-install the stock ROM.
If you want to push them manually, extract the .zip stock ROM on your PC, go to system/app and find all the widget apk files and push them to the system through a root file explorer
Hope I helped
How do I get the email app from cyanogenmod to work on the stock rom? I have tried to copy email.apk and exchange2.apk to system/app, then reboot, but the email app always crashes.
Run a "fix permissions" from your recovery and test again. ..g
Hey. I was trying to do something with the camera apk from system/prv-app on stock kk and I took it out of there. I rebooted the phone and as supposed I lost the app. I thought if I would put it back it would just install itself but it didn't. I got the apk but when I try to install it says "app not installed"
Anyway I can install it?
Thank you
Just copy it there with odex file, set permissions to bot files

And reboot the phone, you'll see a message Android is upgrading and that's it. Don't try to install the app.
Well, I don't have the .odex file... will it be made automatically?
No, you need it.
So I can't install it now?
Try this one.
