[Q] Starburst ROM, market problems

Just installed
[ROM] StarBurst Froyo HTC 2.29.405 [17 Feb] Stable Data2SD | Unlimited memory | Stock
I'm now having problems with Market downloads, messages like "package file is invalid".
I've tried wiping the dalvik cache as per the FAQ but that only allowed me to install one more app. Funny thing is that the problem developed over time, with the first few Market apps installing trouble-free. Any ideas? I seem to be unable to post this at the StarBurst forum.
I´ve had the same problem and wiped my Dalvik-Cache but now my phone doesn´t want to boot :/
I just read at StarBurst´s blog that I shouldn´t have done it, but there´s no solution given for what to do if I´ve mistakenly done it.
Is there anything I can do now without deleting all of my data? It´s not important to save my personal data like contacts or something else, but I wouldn´t like to loose my app data
tried this rom but wasn't that good
I haven't had any problems w/ Market on StarBurst 1.3.3.4 or when I was with 1.3.3.5.
First, save all of your SD card data onto your PC hard drive, then do the 3 wipes: wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache. If you have synched your contacts and calendar, good. If you haven't, do it before wiping. ALso, did you guys partition properly? Remember the sequence: Partition the FAT32 portion first, then the EXT4. Starburst works best on EXT4, and won't work well with EXT1 or EXT2.
Do a nandroid backup, execute the 3 wipes, repartition your SD card using GParted, then reflash StarBurst. If you're wary of re-installing every app you've ever installed, then download TitaniumBackup from either Market or AppBrain on your PC, then save the APK into your SD card, then use File Explorer to launch it. TitaniumBackup backs up all your apps and settings, so you won't have to manually reinstall everything later on.
Wiping dalvik cache is on the list of donts.. Once wiped the kernel hangs at boot looking for dex files..it's a well known issue..
The recommended method to remove dalvik cache is to delete it in titanium.. Or with adb while system is running..
The market file parse error as mentioned is again on the list of faqs which should have been read.. It is because the system partition is full.. The solution too is on my site. It is to convert the W version script you have now, into the latest X script which had that issue solved..
Guys, read the faq page on my site when you have issues, or preferably before you have them.. If you have rom specific problems, post them in Starburst thread where experienced people can see it and respond..If you're unable to post there, tough..

Gallery App Not Working

Hi, it seems that i have installed 2 roms on my nexus gsm. One is the manhattan rom and the other is the Team Kang Milestone 4. Have tried the manhattan one first, camera app lets me take photos, but when i want to browse through the photos, it wont allow me. i use gallery, and it said, "no storage, no external storage available". same thing happened when i install the team kang milestone 4. now im worried, plz help. is it rom problem or phone problem? sry for my bad eng...
Try downloading a file, or otherwise exploring your storage to see if that is the issue. Then go to settings -> apps -> all and clear the data for gallery.
Are you wiping everything between flashing different roms?
Storage no issue. Available 10gb. tried the settings part. doesnt work. Im wiping everything when im installing rom, but after wiping everything i install the milestone 4 and a aokp theme. tried manhattan, also the same problem
someone plz help...
same problem =/ everything works fine except the gallery app, tried AOKP build 31 and Black ICE 31.31...
Bring up the thread.
Stock Gallery app (from AOKP B34) showed "No external storage available" then quitted. QuickPic can see everything, but keeps showing up "unable to open database file" and had to cache again everything. The MTP file transfer isn't working properly right now, everything takes a very long time to show up.
I rebooted like 50 times already. Also tried wiped and reflashed. Already tried Android Revolution HD wipe zip file. No difference.
Anyone managed to fix this?
Edit: Fixed this using the ToolKit, re-locked and re-unlocked the bootloader, everything on the sdcard card folder gone. Must have been something wrong with the partition. Anyway, this is shame. Gotta be some more civilized way to do this.
Same problem here, "No external storage available" when opening the Gallery app.

This does not help for me.
I already did that before flashing the ROM to have a really clean device.
are you guys doing full wipes here?
in cwm
1) wipe cache/factory reset
2) mounts and storage > wipe /system
3) flash rom
4) flash gapps
5) advanced > wipe dalvik
6) reboot phone
I have this same problem, AOKP b36 and franco kernal M3.
Gallery won't open but ES file explorer etc can see the photos fine.
Full wipe did not fix it.
Just backing everything up and will try lock/unlock bootloader
edit: hooray, locking/unlock did indeed fix the problem. Thanks

I also had this problem with QuickPic (on a different device). Solved the problem by formatting the sdcard. I did NOT need to touch the system.

Unknown Error Code During Application Installation -24

After installing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998428 I decided to try official MIUI 3.4.26 as well. In both cases for some apps I keep getting this error (title).
I tried many things from reinstalling gapps (+deleting cache, updates and data) to full reinstalls of roms (+ deleting cache, Dalvik Cache and data) but nothing seems to work. Maybe only the apps that give the error (ex. Facebook works on official MIUI while it doesn't on the Custom MIUI).
PS. I really want to fix MIUI because I love it. If it's not possible, I'll sadly change the rom.

Hi, @hussam91 may I ask what do you mean by datadata? I can't find this directory. I have deleted the relevant folders from Android/obb (it's a game).

can't format the whole phone, cant reboot into recovery mode???

rooted my phone, used all those root prevlged apps...was working smoothly ..the all of a sudden..it started installing apps automatically, corrupted system apps like keyboard, live wallpaper picker etc.... it would even install apps into the system that even after formatting everything ..those stupid apps will install itself again and again...so ,,i uninstalled some of the suspected apps (randomly) through root browser...
everything is same so i tried to install a custom rom (colossum) BUT....i cant even reboot into recovery mode now, tried the volume up+down+home...etc etc..even tried with apps like rom manager ....but i cant ...+ when i try to factory data reset(including internal sd card) it just switch off itself and sometimes it will format the phone storage but not the installed apps.....
can any 1 please pull me out f this mess..

Lineage OS has no access to internal storage

Hello
I install Lineage OS 14.1 to my Motorolla Moto G (1st gen, 2013) and faced the problem that i cant save anything at my phone. Then I installed Google Play Services and Google Play, to check how Market will install apps. After a few checks, I realized that:
I cant save screenshots
I cant install or update apps thats bigger then 50mb (error 190)
I cant save photos or videos
I cant download something from apps, except Google Market (cache, pictures, videos)
I cant create folder in the internal storage from PC or ES Explorer (but if I turn phone into recovery mode, I can do this)
Also I can install apk, but without cache
Do anyone has this problem or solution?
Looks like the installation was not completely clean. How about formatting data partition?

If you about formatting before installation, so I formatted all sections like data, cache, system and so on.
UPD: I tried to reinstall, but the problem remained.
Hi,
I am facing the similar problem. How did you fix this? Please help me with this. Thanks..
