(Tutorial) How to setup A2SD
Instead of ext2 and ext3, use ext4
Download the A2SDGUI from Play Store
Install and open the app.
Press the Dalvik tab
And choose Dalvik Cache on SD-EXT
Then press Move and Rebuild, and your phone will reboot.
You now have A2SD!
if i use the app
then i dont need to flash any cwm zip file or scripts?

The app is just to enable and configure A2SD.
You need to flash the scripts through recovery to get A2SD

Hi,
I put on Amon Ra's Recovery, partitioned ext3 and flashes latest CM6 nightly.
How do i go about using this ext3 partition? (want apps2ext)
Do i need to install/flash apps2ext?
Please help
You just now reboot and start installing apps and it will automatically start using the EXT partition - unless the ROM didn't include A2SD+
I see all this talk about FireRat scripts and stuff... Is that not necessary?

The script is included in the rom, you dont need to do anything, your ext is now /data/app/ and the dalvik cache.
Anyone know how to enable and install Link2SD or DT's A2SD on a stock rom? I know Darkshado's method, when you need to flash simpligio without the modem. But is there a way without flashing another rom? I'm also aware of enabling of enabling A2SD for the Galaxy Ace but if I try this on my Gio, will it be safe??? Please help. Thanks for your time!
Hi,
I'm using stock froyo 2.2.1 (S5660DXKC3), rooted and using link2sd.
It very easy to install the link2sd. i suggest using class 10 microsd. Here is the step:
1. Using a PC/laptop, create 2 partition in microsd, 1st is fat32, 2nd is ext2. Set both are primary partition. i use the partition wizard home edition (is free)
2. Set the 2nd partition size not more than 1 Gb, i heard that it will cause an error if more than 1 Gb. Mine are set to 0.8 Gb.
3. Root your phone, i'm using super one click
4. Install link2sd from market
5. Insert your microsd to your phone
6. Start link2sd, it will ask for the 2nd partition. pick the ext2
7. Reboot/restart your phone
If you want to use A2sd on stock rom, use must use modified boot.img. A2sd can't work on standard boot.img (CMIIW)
And use custom kernel

To enable link2SD or a2SD on 2.2 it is very easy.but on gingerbread, you need to flash a custom kernel(such as phiexz's kernel),because of the kernel doesn't support init.d script.

Use a SD card reader!! Not from your phone!! Also you need custom kernel.
Ok first partition your SD card. Use the program call MiniTool Partition Wizard. This is on your PC. There are guides all over the web for this but I'll sum it up for youse. Make a SD-EXT with the options > Primary > Ext4 > 4Kb Cluster size
Download Darktremor's A2SD and put in the root of your SDcard. Once done plug SD back to phone. Make sure phone is off. Enter recovery and find the a2sd zip and flash. Reboot the phone and it will bootloop for maybe 2 times. Then it should have installed a2sd correctly!!
Hope this helps
merci! I DO indeed have a custom kernel (ArpegGioMod ftw) but I bit the bullet and installed Link2SD, and it seems to be performing okay.. slightly sluggish fps with Mupen64, but nothing a little OC can't fix. lol
Just for your information, you don't need to have a custom kernel for Link2SD.
I'm using it with 2 primary fat partitions on (rooted) stock 2.3.4.
And It's working like a charm.
Has anyone noticed that on a reboot link2sd starts to relink apps and sometimes some apps are removed from the phone. I have always experienced this and I have reinstalled link2sd many times, but the problem still persists.
Here, i wanna share to partition sd card and activaion a2sd Darktremor via CWM for our S5360...
1.) download CWM for S5360 : CWM-Mod_gt-s5360.zip 1Mb and a2sd enabler .
2.) extract a2sd enabler and take dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip . but don't extract CWM for S5360.
3.) backup ur sd card, because when partition is running ur data will be delete. now we work.
4.) copy CWM for S5360 to ur sd card. go to recovery mode (volume up+home+power), and than go to instal Zip from sd card than chose CWM-Mod_gt-s5360.zip.
5.) Now u r in CWM mod, chose advance and create partition. for the next chose everymuch that u wanna partition ur sd card. wait until partition is done.
6.) unplug ur sd card and copy take dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip and copy again CWM for S5360.
7.) go to recovery mod again and go to CWM mod. go to instal zip from sd card. and choose dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip. wait until done and u will be bootloop but dont worry this means the program is running.
8.) now if U have Titanium backup, instal it or go to market to download it. look, is there sd (a2sd). and than instal/download better terminal emulator.
9.) come in to better terminal emulator and write
#su
$a2sd cachesd
10.) now all of ur data move to ext sdcard...

will not work for stock ROM.. try Bancetdev's ROM.. pre-installed DT-A2SD
although Link2SD is far more convenient
P.S. while using A2SD, Titanium backup does recognize the other partition

Apps2SD:
Easy to use
Moves the largest part of an application
Does not move all of the application
Can still run out of internal storage even if every app is moved to the SD card
Link2SD:
More difficult to set up
Requires you to partition SDcard
Can move all 3 parts of an application
Less room can be taken on internal memory, practically nothing enabling you to install nearly unlimited apps.

Hey guys, I recently flashed benjamingwynn's cm 10. I really liked the rom but the rom takes up a lot of space. My internal memory is very low, so even if I use link2sd I was only able to install some apps. Then I tried data2sd from the market. I created a storage file but when I try to mount it, there's nothing happening. Is there any way to make data2sd working? Should I follow any other steps?
Thanks in advance!

Data2sd from market? lol.
Data2sd is a script which is only flashed by installing from recovery or rom manager... Get cronmod int2ext+ script and flash it from recovery. It works pretty well.
I can only repeat sukhjit321, you have to flash it in recovery.
Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?t1r06j60gybhn2t
Put it on your SD card, then install it from recovery just like a rom (delete cache partition and dalvik cache before).
Or try int2ext+ or something else, but you have to flash all of them in the recovery.

Yes, first make a FAT32 partition, and then an ext4 partition (the ext4 is going to be your internal memory, so make it as big as you want)

Hi....i have a Wildfire S working on CM10. Im facing the problems of Low internal memory too...I have tried usinbg Link2Sd but barely helps...again doomed for low internal memory...if i flash data2sd try int2ext+ or something else, i wud have to flash all of them in the recovery by going in recovery mode and the install from SD card..BUT do i have to wipe everything or what i mean to say is do i have to flash the CM10 all over again by deleting everything OR just flashing DATA2SD / int2ext+ wud help.
Beacuse while using Link 2Sd i have already created partiion EXT4 for about 3GB on my 8 GB SD card..
Please suggest how i must do the process ....

This app increase internal memort or just move apps to SD ?
To get it to work, you need to make sure your ROM has init.d support and ext2/3/4. Google for zip-init and use that to add init.d support, and partition your SD card. Then reflash int2ext and format your sd-ext.

It's a script that mounts ur sd card partition as primary partition...
1. Partition ur sd card
2. Then flash A2SD via any custom recovery
3. Format sd-ext via recovery..
Then reboot
