Hello, hopefully someone has an answer to this. I can't seem to transfer apps to my SD card, unless Im on the basic rooted stock. If I flash a rom and then download an app that I know can be transfered to the app it says it's unable to. I have unrooted, rerooted and it still does not work. Followed the steps in the instructions (written and video) to make sure I don't mess up. I even formated my SD cards to see if it was an SD card issue, but it's not since I am able to move apps if I am on stock Touchwiz rooted.
Are you running a repack kernel such as f11 w/ AGAT recovery, There is a bug with the kernel that wont let you move apps 2 SD but on any ROM if you flash Stock Kernel then you should be able to move apps 2 SD.

I am using stock rooted FI03 with AGAT 5.4 kernel and I cannot move any apps to my external SD card (tells me there is not enough space). I want to try flashing a stock kernel with Mobile Odin to see if this will fix the issue, but I want to make sure there are no consequences of doing this that I am unaware of. I figure I will loose Clockworkmod Recovery but will still be rooted, so I can flash back to AGAT 5.4 or another recovery kernel when I am finished. Anything else I should know?
(If anyone has any other suggestions on getting the phone to move apps to the external SD again, I would love to hear it!)

There are others with that issue as well in this thread that may give you another option without going back to stock.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879381&page=7
But no, you shouldn't have any issues with what you've suggested and you already listed what you will/won't have.
Either flash with odin as tar or in recovery as zip

Well, flashing the stock kernel did not go well for some reason. I flashed the stock FI03 tar with Mobile Odin and got a soft brick, wouldn't get past the Samsung logo. I used Odin to flash back to AGAT 5.4, cleared the triangle and it's working fine.
On the subject of not being able to move any apps to the External SD (reporting no space available), that is finally working again! The kernel flashing I mention above did not fix this issue. What does seem to have fixed this doesn't really make sense to me, but then I don't understand what was causing the issue in the first place...
I was messing around with the Amazon Kindle app, trying to figure out where it was storing covers and books I had downloaded. I downloaded a couple of large free books from the Amazon store and found that it had placed them in the data/data/com.amazon.kindle/files folder. Not wanting them to take up space in my system, I decided to try moving them to the kindle folder on the internal SD (where I also put books I have sideloaded). I found that the Kindle app still accessed them fine here.
Now, at some point after this I happened to notice that Titanium Backup was showing that the Kindle app was on my external SD. I did not think much of this at the time, figuring that moving the 2 books to my internal SD had confused something. But today, before planning on reflashing FI03 to see if it would fix this, I tried moving an app to the External SD (just to be sure it still wasn't working) and it worked fine. Also the Kindle app IS on my external SD card. I have no idea why or how this fixed my issue, but I can think of nothing else I could have done which would have fixed this...
Yesterday, I lost the ability to move to ExtSD again, did nothing I know of to cause this. Made a nandroid, planned to go back to prior nandroid where moving to ExtSD was working, but moving to ExtSD suddenly started working again (on it's own, as far as I know).
The continuing adventures...
I installed this rom and I'm not happy with it. I can't get play store to work, and need help installing one of my other roms. In recovery it has taken away my option to back up and restore please someone help me.
Ypu are in stock recovery. Use odin to flash el26 kernel with cwm then flash through that

seem like I need a refresher on that as well, it seems I'm a total dumbass
help
I know what I did wrong with the rom I didn't install the g apps at the same time I did the rom. now my sd card will not mount so I can put the zip file on there, so I tried putting the sd card on my wife's phone and putting the file on there and then putting it back into my phone. I'm so frustrated right now it's ridiculous, but I'm not stuck in recovery I can start the phone and get into my launcher, but my google store does not work, my sd card can't be read, and my option to restore my back in recovery has been taken away. all I have is install update from external sd or install update from internal cache. If there is anyone who can help me please do so I will be forever in your debt.
fixed
thanx man I got it flashed and it worked.
Hi,
I was hoping to flash my (Canadian) SGH-T999V with 10.1.0 release. Did a Titanium backup, saved it to my external card. Tried to do a system backup in CWM, but I didn't have enough space and CWM 5.8.4.7 had no option to save it directly to my external SD card so I stupidly went ahead with my update anyway.
I decided I wanted to do a clean install so I formatted /system, cleared the caches, ect.
What I didn't expect is that when I installed 10.1.0 I would run into an issued described here. Basically, my bootloader was "old" and CM decided to only allow the newer bootloaders to minimize problems. I don't have the new bootloader, so I can't install 10.1.0.
The solution, installing an updated bootloader, is available and it is posted here
Unfortunately, I have no ROM installed and no backup available to revert to. The only ROM I have available is 10.1.0 and I cannot flash this.
What is the best way to proceed? I assume it would make sense to place the bootloader update (available in the second link) onto my internal sdcard; however, I'm not sure how I could do this. The other option would possibly be to copy the bootloader update to my external SD card and put it back into my phone, but I am not sure how I can install an updated from it (is it possible with CWM 5.8.4.7?)
Update 1
** I should add that under "Mounts and Storage Menu" I do not have a mount USB Storage option. If I did, this wouldn't really be a problem.**
Update 2
I am unable to connect to my phone via ADB. I hoped to do an ADB push of the new bootloader. I've installed the Samsung USB driver (and Kies), but Windows fails to recognize my phone when it is plugged in an in CWM recovery. At this point my options are getting few and far between.
Update 3
Solved below. Used Odin to flash a stock, rooted firmware.
Thanks for the help.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think if you just flash root 66 or stock firmware through Odin you should be fine.

I checked Odin and that still works just fine. This seems like a safe move to me. I will flash a pre-rooted stock ROM from here.
I'll hold off for a bit to make sure there aren't any objections.
Thanks a ton!
That solved it. Thanks a lot. Cheers.
Glad I could help!

Here are a few possibilities:
- does the card work in any other devices? pc, phone, etc.?
- format card after saving files if needed.
- try a different card. Possibly a bad card.
I flashed thw stock kernel and problem went away

Hello,
I am having this exact same problem. This is after flashing Wicked rom version 8. Do i have to go back to cyanogen mod or can this be fixable. Can I flash the stock kernel like the above user did, but on top of Wicked rom?
I dont have a card reader on my computer so I cannot format it from there. Is there way I can format it through my phone and see if that works?
Sorry I am a newb to all this.
thank you.
Any idea on what I can do?
- The SD card works (tested it on another phone)
- I first got this message when I rooted the device (I was running everything stock back then) Then I flashed cyanogen mod (stable) and the SD card worked perfectly.
- Now i flash Wicked rom v8 and the problem appears again
plz help.....I'm going to try to reroot and see what happens.

ok sickkkkk i got it to work. Flashed ChronicKernel and now external SD card is mounted. FK YA!
Hi, I downloaded CM11 and had no issues with my internal sd but I tried a different rom, didn't like it, and restored back to the CM11 rom. Now, I'm having issues with the sdcard. It doesn't show. I have all my backups, pictures, music there. I know for a fact that it still exists because I can see it when I mount it on recovery. When I load into the os, it says I have no sdcard. So how do I fix this?

I'm having them same issue. But can't mount in recovery or no apps can detect my SD card. I know all my data is on my SD card. Took data off formated SD still can't detect SD. Sooo stumped. Ran several 4.3 ROMs. Heard they weren't good because of SD issues. Issue did start after installing a 4.4 ROM though. If a solution if found I'll get back with you. But as it sits I've tried everything except reverting back to stock and rerooting. Last resort.
I just posted about a similar issue I'm having with custom ROMs reading my SD card for this phone. not sure but would be interested if anyone knows what's going on

Good to I'm not only one. Been using twrp 2.6.1.0 with no issues. Been running 4.3s for while. Tried some TW.. No issue.. Tried some 4.2.2a again.. No issues. Tried latest Slim 4.3.1 and BLAMMO! had issues booting it but finally did.. Then restored back to a 4.2.2 ROM and now my ext SD is not visible. It is intact cuz twrp sees and restores from it.. WTF!
EDIT my previous. Slim is vindicated. Seems both of my 4.2.2 backups are corrupted for some reason. Restored a Slim 4.3 build and my SD card issues are gone. Weird.
