Some hardware button questions....any advice ..?

1) The power button is press very often ...... will it spolit fast also ????
2) The Home button is it soft touch ? After I put screen protect over it ... it become less sensitive .... normal ?

I was concerned wth the power button, too. That is why I changes my home button to act as my power button.

Found it ....
But I cant root ....

I can root now .... just that the home button for power doesnt work all the time...
Any other advice ?

Can't get into download mode

I've tried what the "[GUIDE] Rooting the Samsung Captivate Glide i927/i927r" page said, ie:
Turn off the phone
Press volume UP and keeping the button pressed, press the power button
a screen should ask you if you wanna continue - press volume up to confirm
but it won't start up in download mode. Any thoughts?

When you press Volume Up what does it do? Just reboot? once you press Volume Up you should be in D/L mode without doing anything else.

When I hold down the volume up key it doesn't do anything.

Turn phone off
Take battery out
Wait 2 minutes
Put battery in
Press volume up
Press power and hold both until the download confirmation screen comes up.

[Q] Hard recovery reboot not working (Vup+Vdown+Pow)

Is there some secret to the Volume UP + Volume DOWN + Power hard key combo? I've pressed it hundreds of times with different timings and can't get into the bootloader. Tips?
Also, the power key takes sooooo long to turn this thing on. At first I thought it was doa. Thought that was interesting...

There really isn't any secret method. Just make sure the unit is powered off then hold the power button and vol down button until you see the Android robot and you can through the options using the vol up and down keys.

Wow, I did Power + Vol Down and it worked immediately. I know I've been reading all over that its both Vol UP and Vold Down. Arggggh. :silly:

I cant seem to off my phone.when i hold the power button,usually power menu pop up. But now when i hold power button,power menu doesn't pop out.help me,i can't restart my phone or turn off.my phone is not rooted

Long press keep press for a min and it will shut down. If not
1: do a reset
2: damaged power button

Power Button Not Working!

My power button has stopped working and thus I cannot switch my phone on!
Can anybody please help? Is there any other method of switching on the phone bypassing the power button? :crying:

Open rear case carefully and see if you can turn it on

Hello,
I am facing the same issue..the power button isnt working.
Hence i cannot restart/unlock /power off my phone.
Is there any alternative?

Press volume buttons and plug in the charger. Phone will start in recovery mode. Select normal and your phone will start.
Once your phone is running, download power to volume button app to unlock the phone using volume button.

Should I press both the power buttons? how long should it be pressed.
I tried holding both the up and down volume simultaneously and inserted the charger, I get only blue battery icon and after the screen blacks off. Pls help.

hi thankyou for the help it worked.
first we have to press volume button then connect charger. it will ask for boot option.
volume up button means scroll and volume down button means select, by following the procedure I started my mobile.
just tell me how to set volume button as screen off and power off. thanks in advance

i faced this problem 2 times, once under warrant and 2nd out-of .... just replace the power button.
Max 100 RS from out side market shop but this time i purchased the power buttons and i will replace at my own.

if u r using u r original rom den ....... conect ur phone to lap den remove battey, 1-2 minns den u r phone stared blinking ben just place the battery in phone. automatically ur phone switch onss..........
.......enjoy.... dont try it..... incase if u installed any another rom.... it dosent work...or u may lose u r phone....
