you explained about boot screen guys..but i asked about splash screen.. i mean there are developer logo (its called splash screen) before boot screen that i will change it.
i had understood for setting the boot screen or its called bootanimation.
i saw many people can change it in their phone such as HTC etc.
my device (Hisense E860) is kind of AOSP ROM.
How to install the splash screen?
I used CWM Ricovery but aborted.
Bootanimnation is working but before that white HTC logo.

Put the PG76IMG.zip file in the root of your SD card, then switch off your phone.
Boot into hboot by holding down the volume down button and the power button. You will then be asked to install the update. Just follow the instructions and you should be good to go. After that, reboot to see the new boot screen.

I have been using the same splash screen and bootanimation combination for a while now. They work reall y well together and they are both very simple and minimal

on G2/DZ you need engineering hboot to flash new splash. If you don't have, flashing makes nothing.

Wrong. I don't have the engineering hboot installed and I installed a custom splash screen (the HTC quietly rooted one from the previous page).
If you search their is a guide how to install it through terminal emulator, which I followed and it worked perfectly.
how do u change the splash image?!
Edit: nvm, I found out about the ADB method

I tried this method also, it haven't worked before I flashed eng hboot. But I think it must work, because both eng hboot and splash are flashed from terminal same way.
You're better off just flashing the engineering bootloader anyway. Fastboot becomes a last resort in the unlikely event recovery f***s up.
Anyway, here's mine.

my boot screen.
here is what i have for my tmo g2. stock cm7 boot animation.
Hi Wildfire S users,
Today I'm going to teach you how to create Splash screen or the image that comes
before bootanimation.
1. Download the tool in the attached and extract it using any zip manager
2. Download PG76IMG.zip as base file for creating splash flashable
3. Make an image or resize and crop any image, it should be 320 width, 480 height. Save it as 24bit BMP. I'm not sure JPG will work but I always choose BMP to be sure.
4. In the tool folder you just extracted open CreateG1Splash.exe then click open choose your edited image then click convert.
5. a file mysplash.rgb565 is created just rename it to splash1.nb0 then open my attached PG76IMG.zip with any zip manager like winrar, winzip or 7zip. then drag the splash1.nb0, thats it.
6. Now put the file in the root of your memory card then flash through Hboot. by fully turning off phone then holding volume down then power.
7. It will ask you to update just follow instructions after that reboot. You'll see your new splash.
Here is a sample:

A handy guide
It seems quite different on WFS compared to other Android phones. For example, on my DHD you convert your .bmp to .img and then flash via ADB as follows:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img
fastboot reboot
You can also use Android Flasher if you don't feel comfortable using ADB.
I wonder if this will work with WFS?

Does this method work with HTC unlocked phones? I'm running CM7.2 by alquez and have CWM installed and rooted.
Edit: I don't think it works with HTC unlocked phoned. Damn, I was excited about it.
anyway to revert back to original splash screen and bootanimation
To get original splash screen, you could Google the image, and then create it using the instructions in the first post.
Also original animations could be sourced via search, however changing the splash screen does not affect the boot animation, but I'd advise that you back things up before deleting them in the future.

One remark. Flashable zip works after removing "spaces"
Once downloaded and you open notification bar, I pressed on it and it asks you how you want to install it. I use rom manager as always. Phone rebooted into recovery but didn't install, came up with syntax error. But while I was in recovery, I chose install zip from sd card and it installed without problem, looks fantastic!
When phone first boots, I still get the horrible white screen with the HTC quietly brilliant logo, is that how its supposed to be? Is this mod supposed to replace that or are we stuck with that without s off?

Yea, the flashable zip pushes the anims to the most common place used
data/local
system/resources
But some custom roms use different places.
In that case you need to manually replace/rename Bootanimation zip and copy it to the correct folder and set the permissions right with Rootexplorer or ES FileExplorer or similar.
Glad you all like it
Enjoy!
I uploaded a new version, removing the spaces in the filename of the flashable zip, for those who had problems.

The first Logo is like a "BIOS" screen, then Android starts booting .. this is where we can replace the boot animation
(Correct me if I'm wrong) .. I haven't heard of any way to replace that first screen that comes when you turn it on.

It's called "splash" screen located on a locked partition.
Once there is s-off we can replace it.

I think it is a soft brick as you can still boot into recovery. If you can boot into recovery then you can recover a backup of a rom that managed to boot earlier. However if you have't made a backup I think you can flash a new rom, just make sure you do a FULL WIPE though.

Hi there,
I'm sure you *hate* the "Unlock Bootloader" warning. That's why I made this Elegant boot logo for all of you at XDA.
Screenshots:
BLACK VERSION
1. Booting with Locked Bootloader
2. Booting with Unlocked Bootloader
3. Fastboot Mode
4. "The system has been destroyed." warning
WHITE VERSION
1. Booting with Locked Bootloader
2. Booting with Unlocked Bootloader
3. Fastboot Mode
4. "The system has been destroyed." warning
As you might've seen, it doesn't just remove the warning message. It sort of brings a little bit of elegance to the Bootloader UI.
How to install:
Flash the BootLogo in TWRP. You can choose whichever version you want (black or white).

Yeah, it's quite simple actually. I linked CosmicDan's tool in the "Special Thanks" section of post #1 and you just download the tool on any Windows PC. Then you place the screenshots which I've linked in post #1 in the input folder and you can edit them from there with your favorite photo editing tool. After that you just run the .exe, wait a while and boom - that's it.
