There you go. The screenshots will be a good indicator of how long the batteries roughly last and what each person is doing.

Let's start looking at battery differently?

Hello friends,
As you may or may not notice depending on your frequency here on xda, we have many people with wide results in the battery department, especially with leaks.
The problem is, these reports are simply not consistant. Posting "I lost 6% in 1" min does nothing for anyone. This post is not to make fun or to bash but to awaken potential ways to help each other.
If you are suffering from poor battery, grab this app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Its called better battery stats and the dev is nice enough to allow it for free to xda members. One of its primary features in our case is tracking down wake locks and kernel wake locks. Instead of posting "my battery life is horrible" do some investigating. Try to find out why. Help out yourself, or hell, if Samsung or sprint are here, maybe you'll help them too.
Just a thought, but srzly, "battery life sucks" is no gud.
So as the leaks progress, feel free to share experiences. Help users help you with locks because I can assure some of your poor battery is not experienced by everyone. And if it is, then we can all determine why.
If you need help understanding the app or how to use it, and you can't figure it out from the apps in app help section then ask.
I've got to say, coming from the Evo 3D, this phone has way better battery life for me. I'm not one to pay close attention to battery stats, screen on time, etc. because I'm usually near a charger every where and hardly ever let it go below 40%. I completely understand what you're saying about the user reports though. My favorite is when a rom gets released, 1 hr later you get the "How is battery life?!" Hopefully members will take you're advice and start looking more closely at it and give better info

Bolded has always been one of those things that made me get a good chuckle.
Good post OP, thanks for the link.
You can also check the "Show CPU Usage" in Developer setting" if you are on an ICS leak and want real time feedback...

+1 I would have to agree with that one myself but it also make me wonder what the heck is wrong with people...LOL
Also as stated previously when coming from a HTC device this is like almost having an extended battery but I will make reference in here of battery life in the future... thx
Yeah, I just came from the OG EVO 4G and it's like having an extra battery. I was looking at posts about bad battery life and chuckling to myself.
But I will install that app and track mine, if we/I can improve it then I'm all for it. Be nice if we can get a number of people on board so we have a good pool of stats to work with, might find something.

I installed BBS but what exactly do I look for? How do I know what's killing my battery? This app just looks like a bunch of numbers and colored lines to me, lol.

Best rom for htc one x

What is The Best and Stable ROM for HTC One X?
Currently i am using Revolution HD...
Post your Opinions and suggestions.
Godbless
In my opinion there is not much difference right now. Most roms if not all are stable with no problems.
I have tried LeeDrOiD, CoreDroid, Villain rom and InsertCoin until now and all of them seem about the same to me in terms of speed and stability
We need custom kernel
ARHD is probably one of the best and most popular.
IMO, they're all around the same and pretty similar besides the fact that some are senseless.
I think we'll really see bigger differences when kernel sources come out and kernel devs start working their magic. Then the combination of kernel and ROM will be big and some may be much more battery efficient than others.
I'm intrigued at the new ROM touch x-treme which is coming out soon I believe, he's uploading.......and hes aiming at battery life. IMO, most important thing since Tegra 3 with all it's cores should already be able to handle UI and everything with ease and the focus on battery life is a biggie to me.
Anything above 5 hours screen usage time would be great, as the phone should barely drain with the companion core during standby.
threads like these usually get closed. you're supposed to read the features/changelogs and look at the pics for the theme. i want ICS blue, so i'm trying the 2 i see with that first.
yah iknow, i want the opinion and testimonies of others.
uhm lets say it like this "air is everywhere but we still need a fan to feel it better".
Read and Analyze first before saying anything.
for the 2 first comment. Thanks a lot! i've learn something about Kernels

I am aware that this thread can/may be removed but I think it's a very useful thread...
Cause although I highly appreciate each and every developer, as users, we shall have the chance to openly discuss our experiences ask for other users opinions. Cause reading only changelogs, and looking at the themes don't mean anything especially for someone like me, who is a newbie in Android... =)
And where else can we compare the ROMs, if not here?! Under their own threads? No i think that will be inappropriate...
Now, to the point...
I have my One X for 1 week and already tried first LeeDrOiD (de-sensed) and currently Android Revolution HD (w/sense)... But I could not decide on which one to use...
Both of them still drains lots of battery... I was sick of my iPhone4 because after 2 years of usage It needed to recharge by afternoon if I used it intensely during the day, but now I absolutley need to re-charge every 6 hours if I use it
A solution should be found to this, so I got very interested in your reply cause I was not aware of this ROM... my bad, was looking at only Leedroid & ARHD because of their popularity..
As of now, I can see that the rom is out there, although at the beginning of the topic it says uploading...
Did you have the chance to give it a try? I will appreciate if you can share your experience cause I got tired of changing my ROM and make all necessary installations & logins again and again...
(BTW, which you guys prefer... Sense or de-Sense?)

I use InsertCoin, which is smooth, fast and rock solid. It used to be a great ROM on the original Desire, which posed some problems to really test developers. InsertCoin met the test.
However, given the superb hardware on the One X, I would expect most of the present ROMs to be much the same... excellent.
Battery life is the holy grail, but as the screen is the main drain I can't imagine what can be done other than tinker with the brightness.

I think this the best rom for long battery

Extended Battery Case

Does anyone know whether or not there are any extended battery cases for HTC One X? My battery life is kinda shocking at the moment to be honest...
Thanks
What exactly do you mean. Are you talking about a case to put a portable charger in?

[Q] Venom X rom JB

After embarrassing myself in the general area I am Just wondering if there is a JB edition or update coming out anytime soon for the Venom X rom on the one x, it is a great ROM and would certainly beat the floor with others if it had JB. I'm coming from rom version 2.7.0. Any help would be appreciated
Try searching the thread
don't even ask for ETAs....
but it will come out one day
Not Now.
ViperX JB wont come out till every CID is compatible for the Hboot Upgrade.
Though its 60-70% COmplete!

Thank you, how long do you reckon it will take?
No ETA's = no info when it comes. It comes when it's ready .... A small search in the thread was enough to figure this out. And if you took the time to read the last 3 pages you would have seen that is 3/4 ready !
Embarrassing......

Yes I understand that but the 60 - 70 % thing contradicted the ETA thing, when he said there was a quarter left to do I believed he have had more info on how long the first 3 quarters took and estimate how long the last would , I'm sorry to break the law on asking questions but jheez man get a grip and stop being such a smart arsenal.

Duh, But the M9 has it..!!!! Never seen so many rude people than on this forum..
Why am i rude ? By answering your question with a clear and direct answer ? Never seen so many questions that haven't been thought about before posting than on this forum.
you can't compare the M8 with the M9, different specs......different handling of power management.
Duh.....

the m9 has bigger battery and different hardware specs. The m9 was released with sense 7. Who knows if sense 7 has better battery life on the m8 as the only sense 7 roms for m8 are based on current sense 6 roms with sense 7 stuff patched in.
Basically a silly question to ask as 5.1 and sense 7 should bring better battery life but it may not so no use getting shirty when someone points out the pointlessness in your question. Wait and see and stop opening silly threads like this
Battery life seems worse with each new thing that comes out... IMHO. Google, and OEM's keep giving us new features, and in the end, keep hurting battery life.
So my answer is no. It'll be the same or worse. :good:
It'll not be better that's for sure, not if new phones are in the pipeline...they want you to update to the new phones

Most...Epic....Question...... ........ ..... Ever..
Nothing is for sure......all assumptions, Android L never gave me worse battery life. The only way we will know is to run the full official build for days and a couple of charge cycles.
