Can I plug external speakers in kindle fire? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With a my kindle fire can I connect an old set of Tec Sound speakers. They have a plug an their voltage is 220-240V AC. Will they blow up my kindle?
Thanks for any replies.

I think so you can connect if they have a 3.5 mm jack.

Thanks sj1021. They worked

Ya

So quiet. Kinda annoying

The voltage that you listed is to use the speakers the voltage won't go into the kindle rather it will come from the kindle because the jack works by sending electrical signals into the speakers where they then change it to sound. So basically any speaker with a 3.5 mil plug will work or you will need an adapter.

I just bought an HTC box that plugs into the phone's USB, I wonder if it's the same deal...
My old G1 and MyTouch had no headphone jack, instead there was a USB adapter, and the sound is piped through the USB...
I wonder if that's standard, or just something HTC jerry rigged.
I'm hoping it's standard, so that I can hide this box in the dashboard of my car, run a line from the headphone jack on the box to the aux in on my stereo, and just plug the USB cable in to charge and get audio out of my phone.
...from your experience though, sounds like a no go.
Sounds like it could work, let me know!

Q - video output choices

I am thinking about getting a Verizon gnex. One specific function I am looking for is screen mirroring or navigation only output to my car DVD player. My DVD player only has component inputs. Yellow, red, white. Is there an adapter that would patch into that, and what are the video output possibilities on the device so far?

I as well was looking into the same thing. I couldn't find one one the web anywhere I looked. So if you can't find one there may be an alternative. You could try to cook up your own adapter if you know a little bit about circuitry and have some soldering skills.
Hope this helps

You will need a MHL to HDMI cable as well as an HDMI to composite converter box such as this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0047PDBP0/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1328454437&sr=8-1
Unfortunately that box needs to be powered so you will need to either get a DC to AC inverter to plug in to the cigarette lighter and then plug in the adapter that came with the box or find something that will scale the DC voltage from the car battery to whatever voltage is required by the converter.
It sounds complicated but isn't really. Good luck!

And is screen mirror a choice?

USB Bluetooth for car?

In my car I have a USB connector for iPod an such in the glove department. Is there a USB Bluetooth device that I can pair with my phone?

You'll probably want to list the car and stereo you are using. But I doubt there is anything that would work since the car/system probably doesn't have the intelligence to use it ie drivers or interface. If it did it would be built in already.

It will allow me to use a ipod/usb storage device on the USB connector(as aux).
Phone>USB bluetooth adapter>USB>Stereo
Car is a honda fit.
All I could find is

That is the only type of connection I could think of also. But that connects to headphone jack not USB. And if you have a headphone input you would rather use that then Bluetooth anyway cause it would sound better imo.

I just don't like that thing poking out. Then having to charge the thing. I'm already going to have a phone charging wires. I'll continue looking. I'll see how a new Bluetooth stereo would fit.

I hate the cosmetics of chords being everywhere too. I actually switch between BT and direct cable aux. depending on how long I'll be driving, what I'm listening to, GPS nav, etc. I'll say though, even with newer BT 3.0 and DSP eq apps on our phone (doesn't matter what ROM) aux cable will give you BEST quality. Trust me you'll be missing a bunch of bass that just can't be transmitted wirelessly as great as direct cable connection. If you're in the market, I'd suggest going to a few places they'll let you test their stereo models with your phone (try before you buy).

Charging problem

When ever I use Netflix or play mc4 I plug my phone on the charger but it always losses battery. Is there any way to fix this? I am on ak kernel diamond. V17. I have heard of a thing undervolting. Would that help?

You're simply using more power than you can gain by charging. Are you charging via wall plug or USB?

Even then, your USB port can only output so much power. What you can try is Ai Charger which increases the power output of your USB port.
AiCharger
Otherwise, just use the wall charger provided.
P.S. If you have a desktop in front of you why don't you just watch Netflix there? Bigger screen, better sound and a better overall experience.
As far as the game goes, why do people invest in such games. The future of gaming is not in the mobile platform, and in fact those aren't even real games rather just re-skins of counterparts.

Dropped my note now my microphone doesnt work.

So I dropped my phone now I have no mic. What it looks like to me is that your usb charging and mic are the same board. I can still charge so my board must be good. But I have speaker phone and people can still hear me. When I turn speaker phone off, no one can hear me. Could I just buy a mic module and slap that bad boy on?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Easy fix, use Bluetooth earpiece. Lol
Or you can get technical and go inside and change your board that contains the Mic portion!! :banghead:

I'm definitely not shy about opening my phone. I'm just confused, if its a single mic module how the speaker phone works but not when off. So I'm curiois if there is a seperate mic for speaker and just talk?
