Most of us have had that encounter, usually with someone holding an iPhone. They say their phone is better but of course we know it's not.
So how do you show off your phone? What is it that you do to wow people and make the hipsters cry?
My wife owned an iPhone at one point. It pretty much did the work for me by pissing her off and losing her music from her CD's she put on it after syncing with iTunes. I showed her Google Music, the cloud, the ways I could customize it, and how my maps and navigation worked flawlessly as a native app - unlike her iPhone.
I just use the iphone launcher whenever i see them using their iphone and say hey look i have an iphone too. Then i go to the yahoo and play a flash video. Then i tell them that my iphone is better then their.
After that i get their iphone and smash it on the ground

You can do face unlock, Google Music, show them a sexy theme, video chat on mobile data, and with phones like the galaxy nexus use nfc and google wallet at the check out. James Bond bad assness with Google wallet.

There's no impressing the iPhone hipsters.
I show them how rich my screen is compared to theirs, and then I start tethering to a wifi device.
I left android to get a 4S and then I saw the light last week and came back to android with one of the best phones made.

Nothing. I just give them my device and tell them to have a look. Most people just like to look at the widgets.
I just pull it out my pocket, unlock the screen and let the live wallpapers + customizations do the talking. Once they all into my phone saying I wish my phone could do live wallpapers I start doing other things they can't with their iPhone. I used the dlna feature on a family members tv and she was showing it off to her man (both have iPhones) and then hooked it up by mhl to mirror the whole phone to really impress. Few days later her man came home with my phone the att variant n gave her his 4s. She really wanted this phone and went as far as saying I should've never showed him lol

Also, if I want to impress someone, I don't mention Google Music; I haven't had good results with it.

If your on a custom rom that's is able to use theme Chooser like paranoid android then just switch themes endlessly with out a reboot and stuff. Use screencast to record your screen. If they smoke weed like me use roll a joint, that's an app iPhone will never see lol. Adjust your dpi using rom toolbox. All that iPhone users have that I want and continue to hate on is their library of games they got almost all the good ones, rage, CALL OF DUTY ZOMBIES! Need I say more I hate them for the games! If we get those games also android will be the shiit lol

Normally just the size, brightness and texture to the screen, a simple unlock to a live wallpaper and a text with swype does it.. Not to mention the arrangeable homescreen.

It's just a phone, who cares. I didn't buy this phone to upstage iPhone fans, and I didn't buy it because I have a dislike of Apple products. I bought it because it is the best device for me. If someone asks me about it, I'll tell them what they want to know and why I like it better. 99% of my friends have some variation of the iPhone, and they are very happy with it. In fact, 2 of them still bought the iPhone after playing with my phone. And no amount of widgets or live wallpapers, or face unlock, or whatever else Android has that iOS doesn't will change their outlook. If you want to know why, the answer is simple: not a single android device manufacturer puts out a product that is as polished as the iPhone, and even android 4.0 is not as polished as iOS. That's why my phone is not winning any converts, despite the fact that's it can do much more. I'm no iPhone fan, but that's the truth.

Polished I think not!!! You got one because "99% of my friend has some variations of the iphone" ??? Wtf and you have been the 1% that has a better phone just drop the same amount of cash as you would for an iPhone and get a High-end android phone and get the real android experience when root that High-end Android phone! They are late to everything dual core, 4g(some) and real multitasking features not to mention a home button, menu, and ITS OWN BACK BUTTON!!! Need I say more lol:beer:

Perhaps you should lay off the weed, because it is clearly clouding your judgement and reading comprehension skills. I have the E4GT and had the Evo 4G before that. Nowhere in my post did I state or imply that I have an iphone. I never had an iPhone and don't want an iPhone. Why do you think I'm in this forum? My post was making the point that the vast majority of people with iphones love their device, and 2 of my friends who played with my E4GT still went with the iphone. And my phone is rooted with a custom kernel, so it actually performs better than the E4GT out of the box. As to my belief regarding why, you can re-read my post. And yes, every time I use an iPhone or iPad, I am always impressed by the smoothness of the UI and the speed of the device, so it is in fact more polished. I also have the quad-core Asus Transformer Prime, which I wish I never bought as it is an underperforming, buggy piece of crap, and you can read all about it in it's section on this board. Want to know why people dump Android for iOS, go out and buy the Prime, try to use it, and you'll have your answer in 5 mins. And I don't blame Android, I blame lazy manufacturers who slap an unoptimized kernel and OS onto cutting edge hardware, fill it with bloat, and then release the product without apparently doing something as simple as trying to access the internet with it, just to do a basic quality control. If I sound angry, it's because I am. With Android, it always seems to be a crap shoot. You can get lucky and stumble on a good device such as the E4GT, or you can spend money on the most bleeding-edge device, and be left with a device that has trouble displaying a powerpoint presentation. Now put yourself in my position; do you really think that I would be more unhappy with the iPad than I am with the Prime? If the iPad at the very least works without the browser crashing randomly and often, then the iPad is already better. Yes, IMO the E4GT is better than an iPhone, but the iPad is much better than the Prime, and it has half the hardware. Don't be a fanboy.
Agreed. Brand loyalty only hinders progress. User experience is a subjective thing, there is no definitely better answer. I know plenty of people who've "converted" to and from both "sides".

This is a long post, but worth the read if your a phone geek.
With all the hype about the new Verizon iPhone4, I am a phone whore, like to upgrade to a new phone every 12 months or so. I have been with Android since the Nexus-One, and loved it, then bought the EVO 4G last Summer, and fell in love even more, but got bored with it.
Anyways I am open minded to the iPhone, my first smartphone was the iPhone3G. And my Brother has an iPhone4 on ATT for me to play with. After having some sit down time with the iPhone4 compared to my EVO, here are my comments; sure the iPhone has a wicked screen resolution, very sharp and crisp and good colors, and the UI is super fluid and smooth, the overall phone feels very snappy and fast.
But to be honest that is about it. #1 the screen is way too small for me, looking at a webpage on both phones, the EVO had a good amount of the page up, where the iPhone needed to be scrolled left and right to read it, feels like a wristwatch size screen now. And the size of the iPhone, everyone says how it is so much smaller and easier to carry in pocket than the "brick" the EVO is. Bull ****, thickness wise, they both seemed almost the same, we both have cases on our phones, and they felt very close in thickness. And weight, the iPhone is not light like a Samsung Galaxy-S, it is heavy, and felt pretty close in weight to the EVO. It is just the width and height the EVO is larger, but by no means night and day different like the Apple complain about.
And now that I rooted my EVO recently, and installed "Myn's" ROM with a lot of transparent menus and apps, my EVO looks so unique and cool, and with this ROM, the phone is very smooth as flowing water, super fast, with even better battery life. But I also bought a 1750mhz Japanese made battery, not much larger, but seems to hold the charge longer, and it charges up much faster than the stock battery. So I can get by the whole day now, never could before.
Overall I feel the EVO 4G once rooted with a good ROM become a mini laptop or small computer in my hand. And the iPhone4 feels like a Fischer Price toy, not to be rude, it just feels and looks so cute and small, with the little bubble apps, and all. I can now see why I see so many women with the iPhone more than ever. I see tons of Moms and older chicks with the iPhone. And the tech geeks that like to mess around and have a different and unique phone have moved on the higher end Android devices.
But this is just my opinion, I am sure many disagree. I am happy there is an iPhone around, will make Google stay on their toes, and keep coming up with fresh and good ideas for Android. And I hope the iPhone5 is kick butt, they need to just do 3 things to make that phone really bad ass. #1 A larger 4" screen. #2 Add Widgets to iOS. #3 Add Notification system to iOS.
If Apple makes those changes to the next iPhone, I would seriously think about going back. But as it is now, just too tiny and a cute toy, not for me I stay with my custom EVO. And if there is an EVO2 this Summer, with dual core, better battery, and better screen technology, and running the latest Android OS, and new Sense UI, that will be hard to pass up.
+1, I agree
My friend absolutely loves his iPhone 4. I agree with him that it's the best phone for him... for one reason: it simply works. He doesn't like to tinker with his phone. He wants it to simply work right out of the box and he accepts the way it works. I prefer to tinker and make it work the way I want it to bloody work. If you tinker, use Android. If you accept the limitations of your device, use iOS.

I agree. The iPhone is the "dumb" smartphone, not to be rude, but for people that just want to hit the apps and that's it. They look at Android as some buggy, laggy, wannabe iPhone copy, that sucks. I look at it like a custom built gaming PC rig, optimized for the way each person likes it, and the iPhone is the standard BestBuy computer, it works, but that's it.
I also think a lot of iPhone users that have tried Android did so on crappy phones like MyTouch3G, or low end Droids, and that is a rough experience, and will make you run back to iPhone. Now lest see them try an EVO or Nexus that is rooted with good ROM's I bet they may like it then.
Oh well, my main beef is the tiny screen, 3.5" is just way too small. And the iPhone for sure needs to be jailbreaked to be fun and unique. But that screen is a deal breaker for me, like a wristwatch.
If there was an iPhone with a 4" or larger screen, and could be jailbreaked, that would be very tempting to me.

This right here, if only for the gaming. Since getting my iPad, I have seen a TON of iOS games that I would love to have on my Evo, but unfortunately they arent available on Android and there's no way the Evo can handle them. The iPhone has a ridiculous amount of seriously high quality games, and that makes me a little jealous, tbqh.
Another bonus the iPhone has is battery life. I failed to mention that because it's a given. Apple always wins on battery life. However, I have three batteries that are user replaceable. Take that, Apple.
Lmao the tittle got me I hVe had ever iphone they all suck I have had a ton of androids there great including the epic 4g and the big daddy evo my fav which I had to let go now I got the galaxy tab and love it I really love the old g1 better then the iphone 4android is a beast and will be here for ever honeycomb is whats gonna make iphone users drop lol just the iphone drops call but evo drops jaws hahaha
How come all this iphone users are like oh that android looks kewl oh thats the stuff oh thats so good but at the end there like iphone wins I can onr click jailbreak but im to dumb to root
I really think thats the main reason iphone users wont switch bc there to dumb to not know how to read and just want a simple click

Right now they have the black bubble under each app, is there a way to not have that black border, and just the white icon name only ?

Dont know if theres a way to do it without making your own icons... If you're so inclined you can just download the stock icons and make your own text at the bottom with a transparent background.. then just select to not show labels on icons in your settings and there ya go... I've done some like that and they look alright I just like to have no words on them...
Oh, by the way, you may want to post this to the Q&A section... or maybe themes and apps... just FYI

I like the iPhone 4, it's a cool looking phone no doubt, the screen is bright and nice, but I get bored with them, I like to customize **** so that's why I got an Evo.
Good thing it's on verizon now, so now maybe people can actually make phone calls without dropping bars or losing the call, I don't hate Apple, I hate att
Apple stores/employee's/customers just looks like a big cult to me, like when I step into an Apple store I feel really out of place, mostly hipster kids and nerds are in there.
As a long time Androyer myself, I'm happy to announce my wife has come over to this side of freedom from her idevice.
Having 2 Nexi together is very fun, NFCing, sharing ideas, flashing etc. I got my wife her Nexus one week after I got mine, she saw the beauty of the device, and was curious about it. Her first week was very difficult in trying to customize and get used to the system, especially after coming from simple-apple. But with a little guidance and help she saw what Android was capable of doing and customized her own screens.
I'm curious to know if your significant other also has the SGN and how has the transition been? Is his/her screens customized? Did they come from another OS?
Here is my wife's screens, I told her I was proud of her and that I would share it with you guys... she said criticism welcomed!!!! Thank guys, maybe this could be a thread for chicks to get together and share chick stuff? IDK...
Love you Cheekys!

I think the screens are looking good. I, myself also focus on the wallpaper. That being said, on the 4th screen, that folder is kinda blocking the bug!
My wife went from a iPhone 3GS to a Droid X (rough) then to a Droid Incredible and I bought us both Galaxy Nexus on release date. The ONLY issue she's had is that MoonReader Pro suddenly took over for her Messaging Icon ... and even her SMS widget opened MoonReaderPro ... had to uninstall and reinstall MoonReader to get them both to work. God, they're such a horrible company as carriers go, IMO.
Why the iPhone? No option for SGSII? The Galaxy S Note is coming soon too... So sad to see you go man.

Oh No MetalHead! What Happened???
He must support SOPA, frivolous patent lawsuits, be against big corporations, afraid of change, andjust enough freedom to change your wallpaper. And I agree with Oscar about att, they have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with EVER!
Anyways usually people who have used android and got stuck with an iPhone are desperate to come back within a few weeks.
I could never imagine going from 4.52 screen to 3.5 screen .

based on my past, you think id be here to bash you for switching to iphone. im not going to. youre an adult, you understand your choice.
question is, Sprint sells the iPhone and wont cap your data. why leave for theirs? no upgrade availability?
I won't comment IPhone part but AT&T as carrier is horrible. After 7 years of service I paid termination fees for 3 lines (only 4 months after accepting last 2 year term) because of their horrible customer services (t-mobile cs is not far away from them). Not to mention your 2GB data limit on AT&T, and increased termination fees....
If AT&T somehow manage to become only wireless carrier I will move to PAYPHONE, but won't go there... but that just me. Good luck! Sorry if my post wasn't on place...

I went with AT&T because Sprint's data speeds have gotten worse and worse. There's no point in having unlimited data if you can't even use it. I could leave my E4GT downloading something at full speed for a month and not even hit the 5GB cap that I have with AT&T now. I have been averaging 100-150 kb/s which is absolutely ridiculous. AT&T's HSPA+ gets me anywhere from 5-6 mb/s on average and that's faster than I was getting with Sprint's 4G, when I was able to actually lock on to a signal. There was seriously no point in having such a bad ass phone if I couldn't even use data on it. I also tried Verizon and the Galaxy Nexus a month or so ago and was not happy with their service, and couldn't justify leaving the E4GT for a device that was for all intents and purposes, inferior. So that left me with T-Mobile and AT&T, and T-Mobile's phone selection sucks.
Now for the why I got the iPhone. My intentions originally were to grab the SGS2. I knew for a fact that I was going to love it, so I wanted to take advantage of the 30 day buyer's remorse period and try something different for a few weeks, return whatever I got and then pick up the SGS2. It was between the iPhone and the Titan. I opted for the iPhone because I have an iPad 2 and already have a ton of universal games that I can download right away to the iPhone. The screen is tiny on it, but the more I use it the more comfortable it is. I don't have to do any type of finger acrobatics to reach the farthest corners of the screen. So yeah it's tiny but there is a plus to that. And the retina display is lovely (black levels suck but it's a fair trade off). So after having the iPhone for a couple weeks I really started to fall in love with its simplicity. It really is a beautifully made device, and iOS does feel very elegant to me. I swear to god my intentions were to return it but I love it now, what can I say. What's crazy is that I really thought I was going to hate it (and I did for the first couple of days).
So now, I have decided that I would stick with the iPhone over the SGS2- I already had an SGS2 variant and I am digging the change. So my other option now is the Note and man that thing is slick. But it has a strike against it already- Snapdragon. Not a real Galaxy device in my eyes. Whatever though, the Adreno 220 is a sick GPU so I'll let it slide. So I go to Best Buy the other day and they have a dummy Note on display. It's f*cking MASSIVE. No way in hell would I be caught dead holding that thing against my face. It quite literally makes the E4GT look like an iPhone size wise. Seriously, hold an iPhone up to an E4GT and that is roughly the same size difference between the E4GT and the Note. It is way to big to be practical for me so it is ruled out.
So now I have decided to keep my iPhone. I have looked into jailbreaking and all the available mods and there are tons. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun modding this thing, and you would be surprised how many ways you can customize it. Dare I say it, but it does seem you (the average modder) can do more with a jailbroken iPhone than an Android phone, and I haven't even scratched the surface of it. I still love Android, of course, and I do miss a lot of things about it terribly, but I am enjoying my time with my new iPhone.
One of the perks of AT&T over Sprint is this whole sim card business. I already started searching craigslist for a good deal on an SGS2 so I can have both devices and switch 'em around depending on my mood for the day. I most definitely will get another Android phone, there is no question about it.
So that's my story. I haven't switched alliances, I am still an Android fan first, I am just having an affair with the iPhone
metalhead, as it so happens, i received my epic 4g touch today and i'm coming from at&t. the reason i'm leaving at&t is because i'm on unlimited data plan and they're sending us (customers with unlimited data) texts and emails saying that we're in the top 5% of data users and that if we continue, our speed will be throttled. (last month i used close to 2gb of data and they still sent me the text.) this throttle will only be for unlimited plan customers, not for tiered customers (so you wouldn't be affected by throttling). but if they treat me like that, who has been with them since 1999, i can only imagine how bad they'd treat new customers. i'm sure they'll find a way to screw you guys too...
p.s. i have a family plan with 5 phones total and that doesn't matter to them.

I have to agree with you on the sprint data. Not enough to make me go to an iphone but I'm finding it harder and harder to justify paying for a useless unlimited plan. I live in an area where the fastest 3g speeds I've seen are 100kbps so I have to use the prl hack to get a whopping 600kbps. On top of that, the only 4g service around me works for about a one mile radius around best buy so they can show off how fast the network is. Other than that the closest 4g is about two hours away. but I still get charged an extra $20 a month for two phones for "premium data".
Lol @ iPhone.

Epic-ly tapped from my Galaxy S II
I currently own a T-Mobile G2x and plan on picking this baby up in a few days from the playstore.
A friend of mine showed me his and I completely fell in love with the screen. I'm also hopeful about the updates being pushed by Google for another year or so.
With that said, is this phone still worth getting with other devices already out like the ONE series and Samsung's S3?
I was intially going to purchase a HTC One S, but can't bring myself to do such a big gamble because of all the hardware and software issues I've read about.
for all that is holy and right, god yes.
i could ramble on what rocks about this phone, but ill keep it small.
its a nexus, so direct updates from google. Large dev community. freaking beautiful screen and physical phone dimensions. oh did i mention kick ass software and dev community
i came from the sprint epic 4g and they were doin some crazy stuff with that phone. with the nexus, i hope to see some awesome stuff.
again so much to put into words. the nexus is worth every cent
I got mine yesterday. Short and sweet, yes!!

Its two issues that keep this or any nexus phone on top
1- direct (fast & unbloated/restrected) updates
2- a huge development base (other phones may have big dev bases, but they cant even compare)

Of course it's still worth buying. This is still the best Android phone out there. Galaxy S3 and One X may both be faster, but if you're a casual developer or tech guy, then Galaxy Nexus is the best you can get in terms of software.
Quad-core is overrated on phones and I don't like Galaxy S3's hardware decisions (the hardware keys). Galaxy Nexus has on-screen keys, which are just amazing, I could not go back to a phone without them. I don't like the bells and whistles of Galaxy S3 and One X either (which won't be a problem if you root of course). Their usability features are an overkill and don't work at all times.
Since Galaxy Nexus does come with the best version of Android - native, non-bloated one - and has very good hardware to run anything you throw at it today, then yes, it's the phone to get and the one I've suggested to fellow developers. One of the young developers I know bought it just last week and is loving it.
As everyone else had already mentioned, yes, do it - you won't regret it. I've had mine only a month now and it's freaking amazing. Fast and unbloated, beautiful screen, effortless to root, great battery life.
Best of all we will be first to get jellybean, my friend with the sgs 3 will be on ics until sometime next year. Hehe.

I would say no, if i were to start over this minute... I would get a Razor Maxx over this.
I think a new phone of this caliber and price range should ROCK right out the gate and that the modding community should only (need to) make it even better... in this case it takes the modding to make it close to right with still spotty reception and CRAPPY battery life.
Is the screen beautiful... is the phone fast and with rooting and a lot of extra software does it get the job done? Yes.
But so does the RMaxx without the radio issues and it has boat loads of battery.
I would much rather have a few less bells and whistles of a newer OS and have battery life & radio reliability. I feel the bells and whistles are a lot easier to add on later than the other way around.
I like the phone... don't flame me please... but it has shortcomings
I get excellent battery life... i have never had any issues with the radio either.

Ahh you have the LTE version huh? Quite a few people seem not so happy with that one. However the GSM doesn't have as many issues as the LTE seems to..

Personally, I wouldn't get the Motorola. I'm a developer, and it's giving us a ridiculous amount of trouble when compared to the GS2 or the Nexus.
The nexus is a great terminal, and since they lowered the prices it's hard to beat in the quality/cost ratio.

As you'll see, a vast majority of the people saying "don't get it" are those with the Verizon LTE version.
To be blunt, the CDMA version of any nexus is going to be an afterthought.
Moreover, LTE is a battery-drain in comparison to UMTS/HSPA+.
If you get the Galaxy Nexus, get the HSPA+ one from the Google Play Store.
I currently have the LTE version of the Galaxy Nexus. Does my battery tend to get drained fast? Yea, although most of the time it's not an issue, I work in an office where I get to keep it plugged in most of the time. If I am planning on being out all day I always keep an extra battery, it's really not that difficult to carry one.
Does my signal tend to suck? Yea, sort of. I hardly ever make calls so I can't really notice there, although I do tend to get a lot of dropped calls but i never know which side they are coming from. My data is amazingly fast when it works right but too many times it says 4G but nothing is going on, so I have to turn the data off and back on to get it working again.
With all that said, I've had this phone since December and I still absolutely LOVE this phone! I still look at the screen and think "wow that's cool". I still show it off to people, I still love using it to pay with Google Wallet.
However, I have recently decided to get rid of it. I will be giving it to my friend, because I just ordered the GSM one from the Google Play store! I'm so sick and tired of Verizon so I want to try the whole prepaid services thing till I find something that works best for me with a service that doesn't treat me like I'm trying to steal from them because I have the unlimited data package THEY gladly offered me years ago. What ever happened to treating older customers better??
There are a few of us that jumped ship from the G2x here now, I don't think we made the wrong choice.
Plus we'll be getting Jelly Bean soon!
Just like you, I think the screen got me. That and stable ICS. I loved my G2x but after hanging around my friends with 4.3 or 4.5inch screens... I felt... inadequate...
Haha, just kidding, but I did want a bigger screen. I'm really happy with this phone now and I think I will be for a while.

Software keys to me are a waste of screen real estate. There is no advantage to having them. I remove them and use LMT because I want the extra screen space. Using LMT is not as quick as having the buttons there but worth the sacrifice.
The GNEX has the space at the bottom of the device to fit keys there and I wish they would have or added them as well and given the choice to use on which one we want to use.
It's true. After two months, I sold my Samsung Galaxy S III, AT&T branded, blue, shiny, and beautiful. Why did I do it?
This excellent Chicago Sun-Times article may offer an explanation: Android vs iOS Sun-Times article.
It's a good article by Andy Ihnatko. Just as Andy, I too cheated on my iPhone with the Samsung Galaxy S III. And it was not a one-time transgression, it was a full-blown two-month affair.
In the end, I went back to my iPhone. All other reasons aside, I had one -- the iPhone is just more reliable. Yep, I said it. In the age of innovation, I choose that. But for me, someone who uses the device very heavily for talk, text, email, calendar, news, boarding passes, and everything around it, the consistency and reliability matter a great deal.
I agree with Andy on most points, with a few exceptions. The screen is the first. Yes, the SIII screen is large and beautiful, as are many of the SIII Android brethren. However, I found that the SIII screen was just not as bright, not as easy to see outside, and the auto-brightness was just not as seamless. Not only that, the SIII (and this is a Samsung thing), display seems a bit pixelated despite the high resolution. It's the "pentile matrix" thing. Whatever it is, it bothered me.
The form factor is the second issue -- and is related to the screen. I don't have large hands, so if Andy had to two-hand the SIII, I certainly did too. And while I appreciated the extra real estate, it was infuriating not being able to reach the top left with my thumb. I frequently found myself holding the phone in awkward ways, wishing I had a freakishly long thumb. I felt that something between the iPhone's 3.5 and SIII's 4.8 would be a perfect compromise. But the SIII was just a tad too big.
The replaceable battery... I like that too. You know what I like even better? Not needing to replace it. The SIII just didn't last as long as the iPhone on a single charge. Not even close. I can squeeze a solid 12 hours out of the iPhone with my heavy use. The SIII died in 8. And so I bought an extra battery, and a desktop charger, and was quite proud of myself. But I wish I didn't have too.
Ergonomics. Yes, I love the back button. And the menu button. But try to hold the phone sideways to watch a movie and see if you hit one of those by accident. Again. And again. Or put the phone on the side in a car to use as a (stellar) navigation unit, and accidentally hit the power button. Or the sensitive volume rocker. Oh, and let's adjust the volume. Wait, which of the 3 volume sliders should I be adjusting? I forget.
I do miss the S III. There are times I wish I still had it. It was a passionate affair, and it was fun. But the S III mistress proved too high maintenance in the end, a bit unrefined at the cocktail parties, and a bit too wild for business gatherings. But I think we may see each other again.
In the meantime, I thought I'd keep things interesting. And so I started cheating on my iPad with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. It's the first few weeks, too early to tell. Either you or my therapist will know how it ends.

Yea... i was the exact opposite. my first smartphone was an old Motorola Q running Windows Mobile. After that, when the iPhone 3GS (the first REASONABLE seeming iPhone) came out, i upgraded to that. It was nice... and there weren't really any great Android devices at that time. My biggest beefs... lack of customizing options without jailbreaking, and requiring iTunes for damn near f*cking EVERYTHING! When the iPhone 4 came out... pre-ordered that. Also nice... liked the screen, nice camera... but still.... no customization, no ability to use something other than iTunes. When the Motorola Atrix was announced on AT&T, it seemed like quite the awesome phone. They came out, i bought one, and sold my iPhone 4 on eBay for like $450. Haven't looked back at Apple's ways. iTunes just completely sucks. Makes it seem even worse when you realize that any song you pay for is just a rental, apparently. But it sucked having to be tethered to iTunes to do damn near anything. "Oh, you can make a custom ringtone, but it has to be in this format, with a file size lower than this, and with a playback time shorter than this". Yea.... i'd much rather be able to slap any old MP3 onto a folder on my phone using any old file browser on my computer (Or *GASP*.... on my PHONE!?!?!) and be able to use it, no matter the length or file size.
But yea... you enjoy your iPhone if it's more suitable to you.
