So my friend went to flash that lovely new JB ROM on his Verizon GNex; everything went fine through CWM like a normal ROM flash, and upon restarting the device to boot in to Android it just stuck at the Google logo. He left it for 10 minutes and nothing changed, so he did the following:
Pulled battery
Booted back in to CWM
Erased data/cache/etc.
Tried reflashing, same issue
Repeat with erasing data/etc.
Tried to restore Nandroid backup, greeted with corrupted error when it gets to restoring Data
Tried 3 other known good Nandroid backups, all fail at the same point
Tried just flashing known working ROMs like AOKP, same boot loop error after Google logo upon restart
Is he screwed? Does he just have to ODIN? If so how can he get stuff off the internal memory, as he has lots of pictures, music, etc. on there? Thanks!

How long did you let yours sit on the X boot animation? Mine sat for probably about 10 minutes the first time and then finally booted into the OS.
I waited almost 20 minutes the first time
and right now i'm sitting at about 10 minutes =(
I don't understand whats going on, its not restarting the boot sequence (not going back to the google boot screen) but just keeps playing the boot animation
Flash the stock google image for verizon version:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
directions available in other threads.
yeah I did that then tried to get JB working again, but no luck
I'll prly just try again another time =/
thanks though
The exact same thing happened to me. I used Wugfresh tool kit to go back to stock. I lost everything on my SD card. I guess that's the price you pay for being a crack flasher !

Are you able to access the bootloader? If so it's not bricked.
You need to flash EVERY SINGLE THING, all the partitions, bootloader, recovery, etc, everything, turn it back completely to stock. (then wipe before booting back up)
yeah i can get to the boot loader.
when i flashed to stock i used the factory image of 4.0.2 with the toolkit
everything works on 4.0.2, but i'm hell bent on getting JB to work on this phone haha

I guess that's the best way then. So there's no good way to get the stuff off the SD before ODIN/flashing it back to stock?
Fix
I had this same problem a bit ago. My device wouldn't boot and would sit on the Google logo.
Go back into Clockwork Recovery,
Wipe data,
Wipe cache,
Wipe dalvik
Install Jellybean
This worked for me, the problem was that I wasn't wiping everything correctly before installing Jellybean.

Just in case you missed it, this is a version made for it, it's on my VZW GNex just fine as well as many others. There's just a few weird scragglers here and there it seems.
HELP!!
i tried to put the jellybean update on my verizon galaxy nexus and then found out it was only for gsm. now my phone has no signal at all. what do i do, i already tried to reset and restore, then i reset it and it just can't find any signal!
Well this happened to mine as well, but the funny thing is that if you just let it sit there for 5+ minutes the phone eventually boots.
ODIN
dude you might have to use odin unfortunately.:crying:
Hello, a weird incident happened today. I have had my phone replaced once, but since getting my phone back I've had little problems. Yesterday whenever I tried to turn on my phone it went through the Samsung logo, but then it went to the Samsung Galaxy S2 logo thingy and the bar filled to about 98% and then the phone froze. So I took out the battery and the phone powered on normally. But today it stopped at about 98% again and it stopped. So I took out the battery and tried to power the phone on but it did the exact same thing. I did this at least 20 times and I tried various things such as blowing, and taking out the SIM card, and charging the phone and then trying to turn it on. But lastly I went on galaxys2root.com and went to the T-Mobile unroot to Jellybean section, downloaded the .zip file for odin and the Jellybean software and I tried to flash the firmware. The process was successful but when I tried to turn on the phone it passed the Samsung logo, then went to the Samsung Galaxy S2 logo, but there was no bar and then the screen went black. How do I fix this?

Have you flashed a custom ROM on the phone? Or did you just root it?

After a long while I was able to fix it. I just downloaded the ROMs off of the galaxys2root.com website, and I eventually fixed the problem.

So my phone was working perfectly fine until two days ago it rebooted itself with no apparent reason. After that the phone stayed stuck on boot screen (Where it says "samsung galaxy note II GT-N7100).
I can't get into recovery mode, but can get into download mode.
I tried about anything to fix this but nothing seemed to help and I'm starting to lose hope. I really wish you guys can help me fix this, because I'm having trouble facing the fact that my phone can just die on me and i have nothing to do about it (I have no insurance on the device).
Thanks in advance to anyone who wishes to help!

This just happened to my GT-N7105 too....
....for the second time! lol.
First time i solved it by using Odin, flashed CWM then checking to see if CWM could mount my SDcard, i loaded up a ROM in it and reboot into CWM and installed the rom from there. SIMPLE!
This time, my CWM works but it can't mount my SD-CARD... :crying:
So, i'm just gonna flash in another rom with Ordin and see what happens! lol.
If you need help using Odin, try this guide:
galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/how-to-unrootunbrick-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/
Granted it's a bit old, but it might still work (im using this guide too!) Only difference is that you'll have to flash in CWM instead of a ROM and we should use latest ordin 3.7.
So good luck to you and me! :good::laugh:

I've got the same stupid problem. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. Can't get to recovery, I can get to download. I've flashed stock at least 5 times now, even tried cwm. Odin says successful/pass, phone never boots past this initial screen. What is going on?

Like my post says, I have downloaded the stock rom, used odin to flash. Odin says successful/passed...Phone restarts only to get stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen. Won't go past this screen. I cannot get into recovery mode, only download mode.
have you check all the setting in your Odin is it correct?

Press vol. up + menu key and then Power key if your phone is stuck on boot screen for 4~8sec, and don't leave the button until your phone get restarted and for ~3 secs after.

Just change the battery. it worked for me :good:
My N7100 got bricked spontaneously. I was on stock rooted rom. I can boot it to download mode and philz recovery, but not Android. I tried odin, flash was successful but still cant boot. I was able to push via adb, but installation failed. Can i still recover it? Plz help me.

yeah, this just happened to my moms note 2,
we were outside and she was using her phone normally until it suddenly started to reboot repeatedly.
i knew it's not her firmware nor her kernel cause they're all the official ones,
luckily my father has a note 1 which uses a battery of the same size, so i tried it's battery and it worked, so i put back the original battery and wala,
worked like a charm
have you tried to install custom recovery? CWM or TWRP or Philz and then install a custom rom from the recovery?
If someone can't go to download mode there is a micro usb callesd usb jig(you find it on ebay) that helps you go into download mode.
Oh my God!!! I inserted the spare battery that i had into my "bricked" note 2... And it got a life.. I can't understand the logic behind this.. Its a topic worth research!!
BTW, thanks to rZZ87

Odin back to 4.2 (Not 4.3 becuase of knox stuff). Use this thread for help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258628&highlight=stock
Then flash your rom back. Or flash a specific 4.4 rom do not try to OTA.

Thank you very much nba this did the trick im back on virgin rom and it works again.
I rooted and flashed my Galaxy S2X (SGH-T989D, aka Hercules) using CWM and Paranoid Android. I had to upgrade GApps and it was a 4.4 (KitKat) version of PA.
I need to get my phone back to the stock JellyBean (4.1.2) and I've tried a few things using images and Odin but I can't seem to get past various versions of the Samsung Galaxy SII loading screen:
Fist image: doubleudoubleudoubleudotsammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-T989D/TLS/ ------ Odin runs it successfully and then it reboots the phone, the phone gets to the Samsung Galaxy SII loading screen and then just sits there. I've attempted it a couple of times and left it sit for over 20 minutes on that screen.
Second Image: androidforums.com/threads/telus-galaxy-s2-t989d-ultimate-root-and-optimization-guide-with-steps.467128/ ------ When I run this one it runs the same way through Odin, gets to the same screen but instead of just staying there it continually loops on that screen (about a 39 second infinite loop) and never progresses past it.
I didn't save the instructions I used to flash the phone to begin with and I did a few different things to get it to a working PA in the first place so it's nearly impossible for me to try and reverse engineer what I did. Can someone point me in the right direction for how to get my phone from PA 4.4.x back to the Telus stock 4.1.2 ROM? Thanks.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II .
