Call recording - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I can not find the right type of app that will record my call I have tried everything switching roms switching kernels what's wrong? My sensation would record like a champ.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA

Anyone? This is the one thing that has disappointed me with the gnex
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA

Your Sensation could do it because the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset supported it in both the hardware and software. I'm not sure if there Galaxy Nexus can do it.

Since it's basically illegal to record another person (the one on the other end of the call?) without thier implicit (written) permission, yea, I could see how you might be having trouble finding an app for it.

No, it's possible to record calls. My old RAZR V3 I think could do it. It's not illegal in all states.

I didn't ask for the legalities of the haha and I know of many apps that do it. For one Google voice.
I just see other gnex owners being able to do this and I'm just wondering why I can't get it to work
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA

Yes, there is an app. Look for CallRecorder by skvalex in the play store. It is a little pricey, but it works great.

I am looking for a tethering app that will work on the gnex... Any sudgestions?
Just use the ICS built-in tethering?
I am not trying to pay verizon even more money per month...
You don't need to, just use the built in one.

you guys have both used it and not been prompted to pay verizon for it?
I'm not on Verizon
You might want to take a look at FoxFi, never tried it but according to the ratings it seems rather good

Not unless they really look into it. If they want to know, they can find out anything. You are far less likely to be noticed on an unlocked phone, though.

There are dozens of tethering apps that require root. Most of them are pretty solid. Lots of recommendations in threads here.

T-Mobile GN2 Update Needed From The Start?

Looking to get the Galaxy Note 2 from T-Mobile today, however can someone confirm that it doesn't have this 'multi-task' sifebar? Wasn't this some type of OTA update recently from Samsung to add this functionality to the international versions?
Is this something we're going to have to wait six months to get?

You are correct. There is no multitasking with this one. I was distracted by the other features so I didn't realize it until this morning.

Most service reps have no clue about any update. I am sure Samsung will get this out soon if not we can always get it via root.
I expect 1-2 months. After that something is wrong.

90% of sales reps have no knowledge of phones whatsoever. The reps I went to didnt even know about the note 2 and those that knew didnt know any of the new features. It seems that they hire people that know how to sell and not people that know WHAT they sell

Talking about recording and not capture. Capture works, but recording doesn't. I have literally tried every combination to see if it works and also searched the tutorial on it. It doesn't work for me. My wife could care less though she enjoys the phone.

Those are two heavy features for me in buying the phone. I really like the size and the stylus, but multiwindow and screen recorder is what sold me. I will buy the Nexus unless the next update enables both features. They have a month for me to get the cash after dropping 700 for my wife to get this phone.

Sadly something like that I shouldn't have to root for. If it is advertised I should have it on my device without having to root. I actually prefer not to root because there is nothing rooting does for me since 2.1.
Also I don't think it's a copyright or patent issue. Sony has open sourced their screen recorder and contributed to the open source community. So Samsung could use that much like CM has done for theirs.

You are so correct! There really is nothing i can think of that can talk be into rooting my GN2. I know, I know, CarrierIQ is a bad thing, but I'm now at the place where if I root my phone, I will loose the ability to use my new best friend which is the ISIS app. I'm one of the few individuals who live around the Austin Texas area, which is one of he cities that ISIS has rolled out. I have been depositing funds in my ISIS account, and using it for purchases like gas, and groceries. If I was to root my phone, I will loose ISIS, and the ability to watch movies from the Google Play store.

You can opt out of CiQ. It's on page 346 of the user manual. It doesn't specifically state that's CIQ, BUT that's what CIQ does for T-Mobile. CIQ isn't as bad a people think or claim. Due to HTC's bad implementation of the software given to them by CIQ they got a bad rap.

[Q] Willing to pay $$ for solution

Hello everyone, Im new to this site and phone. My previous device was the Nexus S 4G and i must say my e4gt is a huge improvement. My only issue that i have is the inability while on a conference call or a merged call to be able to hang up on either callers without ending both calls. Does anyone have a solution to this? Is there any type of rom or software i can download that will give me the ability to choose which caller to disconnect? Im willing to pay $100.00 sent to your paypal account for this solution. Thanks to all!

Have the individual of whom you're wanting to hang up on hang up first. Then you can continue the call with the other individual.

Samsungs S-Health App work on Nexus?

Can this app work on the Gnexus? I saw they have wristbands now that will track what you do. Obviously our phones dont have the sensors but if the app works then no reason why it cant sync with the wristband. Anyone have any experience with this?

Our phone doesn't have the built-in pedometer, but there'll most likely be something like it in the Play Store sooner or later. I'd imagine once the .apk gets ripped it can still connect to that band thing.

Depends how the software is written (and it's from Samsung to be noted). GN is missing some sensors, so if the app can skip those gracefully and doesn't rely on TW framework, it might even work. But I don't see a point in using it, since the app makes sense of those extra sensors, everything else exists already and can be installed on most Android phones.

Giving away gnex

Hey guys.
Recently my beloved nexus' radios decided to quit working. I've tried everything to get them back but the harsh reality is that they just don't work anymore. I made a thread in the Q&A section to no avail.
Decided to go with the GS4 so I have an unused somewhat defective, and clearly used phone that is just sitting on my desk. When I went from my incredible to the gnex, I gave my incredible to one of the awesome devs that made that phone so much better. I'm thinking of doing it again because you guys are so great.
So if you are a dev, contact me and I'll so my best to give it to someone who can truly use it. Whether it be for parts or as a test flashing device, etc.
I can ship the phone free of charge through amazon since I work there so there really is no hassle involved.
Just to be clear, the radios (as far as I can tell) don't work, the charging port is a bit loose and sometimes hard to charge, and there are a few scratches on the screen and around the bezel. Other than that everything works. So perfect for a test device for your future roms.
I really want someone to USE the device and not just turn around and sell it, although I would be none the wiser. So let me know if you NEED it.
Thank you to this community (most of you ) and to all the hard working developers that got me thru the last few years. It's been fun.

I also have an extended battery that I can give to someone as well.
And this is a Verizon model, if that matters.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
Well I have one already.
Although, it's the sprint variant.
You see, I don't make that much money, and I got this for christmas, sure it's great, but since it's limited to CDMA, I cannot be flexible with it at all.
It really does suck, I've been wanting to sell it and replace it with a GSM Galaxy Nexus, but no one will buy it, everyone already moved on to wanting the galaxy S4 or something similar.
So I definitely don't NEED it, but it would save me some money with me being able to change to Straight talk.
About the broken radios, I can try and repair it, buy a new charging port, buy a new antenna, etc etc, it'd be a fun project. I've already started some development for myself for the toroplus, and the GSM Galaxy nexus would allow me to fully mess with a semi working Ubuntu Touch OS.
And, if it wasn't given to me, which it probably won't, I actually have a cheap 12 dollar otterbox like case for the GSM Galaxy Nexus, I messed up on the order and got that instead of one for my model.

Friend of mine really wants to start developing for phones. And I told him a nexus phone would be the best. But he doesn't really have the money to buy one and neither do I. So he could really use it and he did some development for his old tablet and as far as I can see he's quite good at it. So I think he would be a real good person to have here on the forums.

I guess I should of been more specific on who I want to give the phone too.
It would help if you already had a thread in the developers section.
Like I said, I don't want to give this to someone just to have them sell it so the only insurance I have is making sure you are already a developer of some sort.
