Can this app work on the Gnexus? I saw they have wristbands now that will track what you do. Obviously our phones dont have the sensors but if the app works then no reason why it cant sync with the wristband. Anyone have any experience with this?

How are we supposed to have experience with it already?

Our phone doesn't have the built-in pedometer, but there'll most likely be something like it in the Play Store sooner or later. I'd imagine once the .apk gets ripped it can still connect to that band thing.

Depends how the software is written (and it's from Samsung to be noted). GN is missing some sensors, so if the app can skip those gracefully and doesn't rely on TW framework, it might even work. But I don't see a point in using it, since the app makes sense of those extra sensors, everything else exists already and can be installed on most Android phones.

I'd rather have Google wallet than some 3rd party app that is hardly established yet. Give it time, i'm sure we will see a hack or an official Google Wallet support. We have the technology in our phones to use the service, just takes time.

Ive been waiting for months for this guys, they are taking their time for sure.
Guys please be careful if this eventually gets working and you have the ability to flash custom roms. When going to a different rom you have to make sure to always reset the app from within wallet before flashing or else you could brick your nfc chip in a way that you can never use wallet again. It happened to me my second day owning my nexus.

I'm sure OTA updates aren't gone.
But from what I understand, if I'm wrong correct me please.
Apple sued Google because apparently apple has rights over being able to search for certain things inside the phone. Like apps specifically I think
So I think that's probably what Google is gonna remove.
As far as I know and understand.

But im pretty sure the feature won't be entirely gone.
IMHO, apple is very childish.
not to mention that the only thing keeping them alive is the false 'hype' for their devices.
Trust me, ive had iphones, and Id switch an iphone any day of the week for a Nexus or GS3
But seriously, don't worry about the search thing, most likely google will either find a way around it, or you know..

I can't seem to get a straight answer about this, anywhere. What's the deal with this phone, and Google Wallet? Why don't they work together? Is it because of Custom ROMS, root, even the carrier? Is there a workaround for any of these issues? I've been dying to try it, but it wont work. I may not exactly be in the right place, but this is the last place I can think of asking.
The Galaxy S2 has nfc but it doesn't have the secured element.
It's missing the hardware needed for Google wallet and as such it will never work on the s2.
With that said.. As us with the sgs3 found out.. We have the hardware but Google tried to lock us out.. Good things devs found a work around and now Google wallet works with sgs3 even on carriers banned from Google..
But for the sgs2 and skyrocket.. You're missing hardware needed for Google wallet..

I have been to a few places that Google wallet should work but it didn't. The reason was because the store basically didn't have it tuned on yet. I have ran in to that a few places. But it works at other store where they store has activated it.

A few places wallet worked with my old nexus s now does not work on the nexus 4. There have been a few threads about the wallet issue. I was looking to see if the was a fix built in to the update.

I thought that the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 4 have different NFC chips, and that they are not universal.
It shouldn't matter though, Google changed Wallet to make the NFC chip itself less important. It used to be that data was stored in a portion of the chip but now its all in the cloud and the chip just provides communication.

Because there isn't much we can do about it. Its a competition and a niche one at that. Not a whole lot of stores are geared to support it, and the ones that do are tied up with either Visa or Google Wallet or Mastercard in contract garbage.
Just mod it in for now until the dust settles and a standard is made. I've been using it for months without an issue.
+1 to this^^^^^^^^^
Yeah I know what ya mean. But AT&T can't block those that know how to get it working on there device!

Then perhaps you can tell me how to get my wallet working again after switching Rom's and not resetting wallet? The dreaded "Device set up failed" screen is going to drive me to drink.....too late. The point of Milkman00 is a valid one, why do we have to do these cat and mouse games to make something work that hardware wise these phones are capable of performing? Truthfully, I don't understand why Google doesn't balls up and force the carriers to allow this app if it is indeed the carriers that are blocking it.

This is a major problem for me too. If they won't accept Visa, they are useless for me.
Not sure if it will help anyone, but I finally got my GW to work. Had to install modaco toolkit and xposed installer, then use the install files (and instructions) from the skynote rom page found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093870
Tried other combinations of things with no luck. Did those things with a reboot and it works for me. I may have even done too many steps, but it works. and thats what counts.
