That's the usual location, it may be located elsewhere depending on the device.
Clear NVRAM and let it reactivate?
Almost any time I tried doing something to my phone via the Sprint site, it bit me in the ass...whether it be changing the number or activating new phones. Every time, I've had to deal with them on the phone (an alternate cell phone, that is) and have them troubleshoot it with me, resetting things on their end. If you've tried that and they've been unable to help you get it up and running, I agree with the poster who said to send it into the shop and see what they can do for you.

This. Do a hands free activation on both devices. Weird that the second line is acting up which would make me think it is them. Phone support should actually be willing to walk you through it but the store can do it for you as well, dont be surprised when they call the same people via a different number of course.
How do i clear NVRAM?

Msl can try 000000.. but ya, if you ask me sounds like a provisioning error.. best bet would be hands free activation, updating prl and profile.. if not just call sprint from alternate phone and they can walk you through it assuming your on a tw rom and not aosp.. if on aosp need to revert back to stock to be able to use the codes or even to updateprl and profile

I made an app for easy access to the service menu's on the Galaxy S. I made it on the Vibrant so if anyone is willing to try it on the I9000 and leave me some feed back it would be much appreciated.
The app can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772690
Installed it on a stock Galaxy S and it seems to work fine.
After you select an item (i.e. GPS) it temporary brings up the Telephone keypad then goes straight to the service menu without any further intervention.
However, when you have finished altering items and come back out it again takes you again to the Telephone keypad where this time you then have to hit 'back' once again to come out.... Is this correct?
Yes this is correct. The program is just typing all those crazy service codes into the dialer for you, so you dont have to remember them all. Thank You for the feedback it is much appreciated.

Do any of the options work or are they all broke on the epic? If some work, which ones?
None work, I'm not rooted maybe that's why???? To confirm I'm using the app properly. I launch the app, select a setting, it launches the dialer, and instead of then launching the service menu, nothing happens.., if I press the Send, it attempts to make a phone call. I tried for all of them, as I was hoping to get this to work.
Thats strange. You should not have to be rooted. Sounds to me like samsung changed the codes for access on the epic. I will do some research into this. Can you type a code manually in the dialer and let me know what happens? For example this should show your your IMEI number: *#06#
EDIT: I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7973675
It appears the secret codes are not working at all on the epic, so it is not the program. It seems these menu's were locked out or removed (possibly at sprints request).

Ya nothing works when I press the factory format it tells me it will erase everything but I'd rather not see what happens next. Thanks for your efforts maybe verizon will remove the codes too.

From their market page
"The first attempt at changing the roaming mode will be slow - don't worry, this is supposed to happen.
I will honor refund requests within 24 hours since the new market only gives you 15 minutes to try out an app.
Please refer to the website for questions and report issues to [email protected]. Please allow a reasonable amount of time (at least 24 hours) for a response."
So I would request a refund now so that if you can't get it working, you at least get your money back....they might have a solution for you as well

Send me an email at roamcontrol (at) gmail (dot) com along with your Google Checkout number. Otherwise, does your phone stay on Sprint or does it lose the signal when going into "roam only" mode?
I can't get it to work either.... I select roam only and it makes no difference... using 1.5.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
There are a few reasons that you might see issues with Roam Control:
1. Your phone isn't rooted. I've seen some people update to EB13 not knowing that it took away their root. You should see some type of pop-up error if this is the case.
2. You have a Samsung phone and you live in a 1900mhz only area. See here. You will see your signal disappear if this is the case.
3. You are using a pirated version of the app. I can't take any responsibility for issues with an unlicensed copy of Roam Control. Honestly, I would be a little nervous giving root permissions to a pirated app, but that's just me.
It's always possible that something else is wrong too. Usually an uninstall and fresh re-install through the market fixes things. If not, feel free to send me an email and I'll be happy to help!
Mrgreg. I've noticed roam control stoped working on any of are froyo builds after the newest update. I haven't been able to locate a older version for testing as I'm afraid of installing a pirated app with root permissions. I'm willing to work with you on solving this matter if you like

Do you mean the newest update of Roam Control? What specifically are you seeing? Do you see any error messages, does your phone lock up, etc?
I have a new version on my computer that's more similar to 1.4. The underlying implementation is the same for all of them but the trigger mechanism is different. I need to do a little more testing (have been super busy this past week) and I'll push it out the the market. I expect it to help with intermittent issues that a few people are having.

count me in as well. I try to force roaming with the app on my rooted 2.2 epic and it just tells me to purchase roam control from the market even though I did
Count me in too. Doesn't work, was in a bad signal area so I couldn't request a refund. Honestly I don't mind having paid for it provided the issues are fixed (once discovered obviously) in a reasonable amount of time. Greg, if there's any way you could send a few of us a copy of 1.4 for testing purposes (I'd be happy to verify my purchase...somehow) maybe we could help figure out what's going on.
One thing I'll mention, it seems if I toggle back and forth like a spastic child between auto and roam, eventually it will roam, on the auto setting, then switch back after a minute or so to a sprint tower. Rooted EB13 with overclock kernel (same issue without). Hope this helps.
Please keep us posted as I will be monitoring this thread.
hmm
my roam control works without an issue.
its worked on: cm6
bonsai (all versions)
stock deodex eb13
2.1 and 2.2 modems
both app version 1.4 and current 1.5
however, most calls to go straight to vm. In my opinion, this is generally a positive thing. ha ha.

Does it still show as "purchased" when you go into the market? Go ahead and install the latest version and fire it up, it's probably just having difficulty contacting the licensing server.

Spoke to you over email...appears to the 800mhz vs 1900mhz thing for Samsung phones.
I'm planning on selling my EVO. I've done a wipe, but my Sprint PCS user name is still under 'About phone'. How can I get rid of it?
I think that'll go away when you have that phone disconnected. Someone chime in and let me know if I'm wrong.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Once the phone is reactivated it will take on the new user information.
I thought that when I activated a new phone, the EVO would automatically be deactivated? It seems everything is removed except my PCS username.
You can do a MSL master reset on the phone, it should erase it. And if it doesn't, your info will gone when the other person erases it. If it's deactivated, it's not like they can really use it.

Can i do the master reset to change the sprintpcs username even if my phone is activated
im switching back to straight talk and found someone willing to trade their at&t note ll for my sprint note ll. i'm having a slight problem. i cant delete all my data and personal info off the phone. it still shows my phone number and name to the phone. i've done a complete factory reset. i dont get it. how can i completely delete everything off the phone? will rooting do this for me? how can i completely erase everything off the phone except the os?

yes but then again if your doing PRL update or if in the future you change your phone number you gonna need that again, i just need to disable that code without effecting anything else, do you know how we can do that
As I said just rename it. If/when you need it it takes a rename and reboot and your back in business. The only ways I know of require same style changes.
