im switching back to straight talk and found someone willing to trade their at&t note ll for my sprint note ll. i'm having a slight problem. i cant delete all my data and personal info off the phone. it still shows my phone number and name to the phone. i've done a complete factory reset. i dont get it. how can i completely delete everything off the phone? will rooting do this for me? how can i completely erase everything off the phone except the os?
your phone number and name are shown because the phone is still activated under your account... it's like a sim card until you deactivate it it will do that

I'm planning on selling my EVO. I've done a wipe, but my Sprint PCS user name is still under 'About phone'. How can I get rid of it?
I think that'll go away when you have that phone disconnected. Someone chime in and let me know if I'm wrong.

Once the phone is reactivated it will take on the new user information.
I thought that when I activated a new phone, the EVO would automatically be deactivated? It seems everything is removed except my PCS username.
You can do a MSL master reset on the phone, it should erase it. And if it doesn't, your info will gone when the other person erases it. If it's deactivated, it's not like they can really use it.

Hello everyone
I think I have deleted "My account " app or widget (I don't know what it is)
So now, will I get the ICS update, or not?
I'm on stock everything, except for some deleted bloatware.
I am a n00b, so please someone help me with this.
Thanks for reading this.

My account doesn't have anything to do with the update. You'll get ics when you get it
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
u can just download my account in the market if u did delete it. also it has nothing to do with u getting ics or not. like what the other guy said above me.
Thank you very much for your help.
If I don't need it, I will not download it.
I gest received the unlock code from T-MO and the rep. couldn't find my EMEI # so I had to give it to him "manually". But he did get my wife's # automatically.
I guess "My account " app has something to do with it.
Thanks again

ur welcome. but i have had to give tmobile my IMEI number before because for some reason there system didnt update it once i got the phone. they told me it takes 48 hours for the system to update ur new IMEI number. but i still call in and make sure they change it. but even then i think it still takes 48 hours to update in there system. thats what the reps told me.
I have two lines and i made a change of number on the main line through the website and everything seem fine i let the phone sit, now neither lines can make or receive calls only data but not sms either, the sprint rep told me that the phone is not connecting to the tower

Menu -> Settings -> System Updates -> Update Data Profile
That's the usual location, it may be located elsewhere depending on the device.
Clear NVRAM and let it reactivate?
Almost any time I tried doing something to my phone via the Sprint site, it bit me in the ass...whether it be changing the number or activating new phones. Every time, I've had to deal with them on the phone (an alternate cell phone, that is) and have them troubleshoot it with me, resetting things on their end. If you've tried that and they've been unable to help you get it up and running, I agree with the poster who said to send it into the shop and see what they can do for you.

This. Do a hands free activation on both devices. Weird that the second line is acting up which would make me think it is them. Phone support should actually be willing to walk you through it but the store can do it for you as well, dont be surprised when they call the same people via a different number of course.
How do i clear NVRAM?

Msl can try 000000.. but ya, if you ask me sounds like a provisioning error.. best bet would be hands free activation, updating prl and profile.. if not just call sprint from alternate phone and they can walk you through it assuming your on a tw rom and not aosp.. if on aosp need to revert back to stock to be able to use the codes or even to updateprl and profile

If you are able to turn it on then download a backup app that will store the apk's on your SD. Then when you transfer your SD to the new phone you get just redownload that same backup app and run the restore on it then all your apps will be reinstalled.

Most everything is backed up to google (through Gmail account) apps should be backed up through app store (for downloading purposes anyway), Once you get new phone (Verify Clean ESN!) just go online or call Sprint and activate it. Then just add all your goodies and your set. I get phones off Craigslist most of the time. This is what i typically do (got my Touch for $50. Almost brand new)
Define everything? Because if you're non-rooted and you want your data, I think you may be SOL. Google will save your apps, but as far as in-game purchases, those are gone.
If you're rooted and just need your phone on, get a USB Jig ($6). This will automatically boot you to download mode. Then using ADB, it should recognize that your phone is in download mode. You should be able to control your phone from there and reboot it to recovery mode.
If you do get your phone on, turn your time out to lyk 10 minutes. Just to prevent any accidents. LoL!!
I know about all my data and apps and such lol. Im just talking about getting my service switched to the new phone

If the phone you're buying is a direct replacement (totally working) then just sign into your sprint account and hit activate new device and follow the directions.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Use Kies to backup from your current E4GT then restore to the replacement.

yes but then again if your doing PRL update or if in the future you change your phone number you gonna need that again, i just need to disable that code without effecting anything else, do you know how we can do that
As I said just rename it. If/when you need it it takes a rename and reboot and your back in business. The only ways I know of require same style changes.
