Probably a random questions but i came from EG30 and the email app did not require me to set a password for my corporate email account. Now that i am on ICS it requires me to set a pin password before i can add the corprate email account. Is there anyway to get the gingerbread email back? Is that even possible
I dont use the client part which ask you to set pin.

I need to add my email address for my college in CM6 but there isn't an option to do so. I can set it up OWA method but I don't have the options.
I go to Settings, Accounts & Sync, Add account and only see:
Twitter, Exchange, Facebook, Google. Where did the option for "Other" go? Any workaround?
Have you tried k-9 mail app for non gmail accounts? Avail in the marketplace!

Set it up under exchange then for the server use the link you go to to access the email ( without things that come after the / if there is one) and for the domain put the schools website

The domain would be the website I go to check my email correct? I don't think it's the school website.
the domain would most likely be the suffix of your email address.
it is possible that you login with a domain name other than the email suffix. however, if you're looking for the 'other' to set it up, then i'm pretty sure you already have the domain, user, server, etc.
email: [email protected]
domain = mydomain
server = email.mydomain.com
credentials: mydomain\me or it might be mydomain/me /shrug
Thanks I got it to work

Does K-9 have push mail?
You can read the description in the Market. Setting it up exchange worked fine for me as long as you know your login information and the school website.
I was wondering how I go about connecting my my school's email address ending in a .edu to my phone instead of my gmail account?

The email.apk should handle all email accounts. Gmail.apk is intended for Google Mail accounts.

The problem I have is figuring out what type of email account it is. The email address is powered through google but it has a csu.fullerton.edu domain. Its the weekend so I can't go to school and ask someone either. If someone has a similar school email like myself, it would be greatly appreciated if you told me what you typed in for the settings of your account.

It's really going to depend on your school - it could be anything. At my school, its webmail.(school initials here).edu. You're probably going to have to just log onto their web email application for now.
I hate the email app(. Thanks for all the replies!

My college uses webmail (run by Google) for email. All I did was in the Gmail app, add an account and put in my [email protected](school initals).edu and password and it worked. No special settings or anything in the gmail app.
Hey,
if it takes you to what gmail looks like give this a try~

Yeah, you'll have to get account specifics from the tech support people unless you already have that info on your PC

Trying to set up company email (ie, Exchange) on my shiny new SGS2 and I get a nasty looking license that tells me Samsung wants the right to send my IMEI and other mobile phone data to the "licensors of the application." Who the hell are these licensors, why do they want my phone info and why should I give it to them?
What happened to the Google "Mail" client that's been on every other phone I've used? (No, not GMail. Just plain old Mail.) And is there another (free) Exchange client I could use?
that's probably related to the CIQ issue

Maybe, but the interesting thing is that only pops up when I try to set up a corporate email account on my SGS2. If it were CIQ related, shouldn't I get that license agreement when I set up the phone? CIQ has its dirty little fingers in everything, not just email.
Talk to your exchange administrator ...it's probably a policy they are applying.

No it's only TW email apk specific. Aosp email does not do this. It's not caused by a policy set by an exchange admin. it states this before the account is fully created and before you get a prompt for exchange policies acknowledgment.

I cannot get this to finish setting up in the default email app. I'm trying to find something that syncs with my university's email/calendar. But the default email won't even load my account.
Are you sure your server settings are correct?

Hi guys, I bought almost new T-Mobile sim free Note 3 N900T with 4.4.2 KitKat.
All work fine, only I cant create any email. When I add email account and choose POP or IMAP and when I write details and click next I get always "Authentication Failed". Master Sync is enabled, google email working and I installed Yahoo email app and that email works also. Only custom email account can not be created. Any help?
Anyone?

Ok it's fixed. Only solution is to type whole email address on IMAP and SMTP servers like login. It won't connect to servers if you type only username without @domain.
