Flashing the Custom Recovery UI
1. Again, make sure your device is S-OFF. 2. Again, make sure your memory card is formatted FAT32. 3. Place the PG76IMG.zip file into your phone SD card. 4. Disable Fast Boot from your phone settings (Settings > Power > Disable Fastboot) 5. Turn your phone off. 6. Hold down the "power" button and the "volume down" button for a few seconds till you see the HBOOT screen. 7. Don't press anything. The system will scan for some files and it will prompt you for an update. Move the cursor to OK (volume up) to start the flashing process. 8. After it finishes, press the "power" button to restart the system. 9. Let Android boot and delete the PG76IMG.zip file from your SD card via USB. 10. Congrats! Custom recovery has been installed. Process to step 2.
Step 2: Flashing the rooting script by XDA.cn
1. Copy the root.zip file into your phone SD card. 2. Turn your phone off. 3. Boot into recovery: Hold down the "power" button and the "volume down" button for a few seconds till you see the HBOOT screen. Let it do its thing and then select "RECOVERY". 4. At the recovery menu, use the volume buttons to select "install zip from sd card". 5. Then select "choose zip from sd card". 6. Then find the "root.zip" file on the list. 7. Select "YES". 8. Let the script do its thing till you see "Install from sd card completed". 9. Select "Go Back" on the menu till you find the "power off" option and select it. 10. Turn your phone back on and let Android boot.
If u r s-on then u have to unlock the bootloader from htcdev.com

Phones with updated ROMs already have an unlockable bootloader, so updating the bootloader is not necessary
What error you get? and What is your HBOOT Version now? [press <power>+Vol Down] Did you try thru HTCdev.com to update.....

Try a different ruu, if it wont detect because of USB debugging try this, first on your PC click start and type %temp% then watch this folder as you run the ruu as some new folders should appear, look through those folders and find rom.zip copy it to your SD card and rename it to PC49IMG.zip now when you enter hboot it should pick up that file and install.

I don't know which ruu you need, re-read my post as that is the other way to flash an ruu, if you cannot connect your SD card to copy the rom.zip to your SD you will have to remove your SD card and use a card reader or another phone to do it but once the zip is on your SD card and renamed to PC49IMG, reboot into hboot by pressing volume down + power button and it should update.

If you can get into recover try download the rom you want to use and pace it in root of your sd card(not in any folder). Then go into recovery wipe factory setting, wipe cache partitions go into advance>wipe dalvik cache. Hit back istall from sd card>choose zip from sd card>choose rom you placed in sd card and install. Reboot after its installed.
If it didnt work you may have screwed up your bootloader. First why did you use AAHK to load a new rom when all you needed to do was go into recovery wipe factory, wipe cache then wipe dalvik then flash rom. All rom forums have their instructions on how to install their roms. Head over to AAHK forum and go into IRC Chat they will help you solve your issue there.

Rom are not PD98IMG.zip files...they do not contain radios, so you just can flash in CWM. I don´t know what u did, but as Reinaldo says, you might have screwed your hboot....now if you are s-off and rooted and did a factory reset that means that u have no rom in your device, plus you have just erased usb debugging so, now you can´t use the fastboot. My advice, is that u stop messing your phone. You have to ask and educate yourself before doing something you don´t know. It is very hard to solve a problem after you have messed in such a way,...
EDIT..besides to boot into hboot / recovery is power + volume down....
Dude, in the future, when things start going wrong, Don't keep clicking away at "everything chooseable". That will never, ever fix it. Stop everything & read & inform urself before going ANY further. Just some fyi for the future man. It will save ur device, if it's not already messed up
thanks for replaying guys, yea you're right i shouldn't have done anything before i was sure.
i did wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition but there is no option for wipe dalvik cache, and there is no "choose zip from sd card" its only "Apply sdcard:update.zip" therefore i named the room as "update" too. and when i hit apply sdcard:update.zip it says :
-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (No suck file or directory)
E:signature veerification failed
Installation aborted.
and ya, i cant use fastboot eighter
I used AAHK because i thought it was possiable to flash using it.
I will visit AAHK forum tomorw and go into IRC chat, hope someone can help.. have to get some sleep now..
Thanks =) sorry if i have bad english btw and thanks for the info to never rename roms

The CID was actually to try to see if there was a RUU for your phone. Unfortunately it is not. So, now you have to create a goldcard. For it you will need another android working phone and an sdcard that works as a goldcard.

I have a question
I have created goldcard to the best of my knowledge via process mentioned beneath.
But still I have S-on on HBOOT of desire hd
Process:
Have 2 GB Sd card & 8 GB Sd card. Tried both.
1. Format SD card by placing it in card reader. (tried with both FAT & FAT32)
2. calculate CID i.e. 1b534d303030303010073d25b400a9b2 for 2GB card
3. reversed it i.e. b2a900b4253d071030303030304d531b
4. replaced first 2 digits i.e. b2 with 00. gives CID reversed 00a900b4253d071030303030304d531b
5. Copied it to http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard and generated goldcard.img file
6. Putting card into card reader and connecting it with computer via USB slot.
7. Open Hxd editor. Open Removable drive under Physical Disk with unchecked Open as Read only.
8. Open goldcard.img file from Open Disk image.
9. Copied all offsets of goldcard.img window and paste write it on Removable Drive Image by selecting offset 00000000 to 00000170,
10. Saved edited Removable drive image.
11. Removing and checking whether card is still readable.
12. Putting it back into mobile slot of SD Card.
13. Entering in HBoot and still getting ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
If I am missing something kindly help.

Goldcard won't make the phone S-OFF. Just will let you flash any RUU and avoid the CID signature failed. But you haven't flashed a RUU, so nothing changed.

ok
So how do I know that Goldcard process is successful or not. Should I have to flash RUU to confirm whether it is successful or there is another way.

When you finished patching the sdcard, you should enter that drive with no errors at all...but that is not insurance of anything..just a good sign.

Successful in loading my mobile with holding vol down key when HTC logo appears.
gives forced close error several times but loaded.
then enabled USB debugging and successfully installed aahk for Desire HD.
Now going to flash rom. Can I still flash RUU on S-off, rooted set with custom recovery?

3. Updating boot from HTCDev.Com successfully
4. Unlocking via HTCDev
5. Manually flashing CWM recovery from fastboot
....
.....
6. Installed MIUI.us_ace_v4_2.10.19_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_blind.zip
7. Install from SD Card Complete.
8. Rebooted system
9. HTC Logo vibrate then black screen

I have a HTC Desire. My USB port is broken (no money to fix) so cannot connect it to my PC. I have TWRP as recovery, but it wont install zip files.
e:unable to create updater file in /tmp/updater. There is currently no OS loaded. Is there any way i can install CWM at startup like a .bat file or something when i switch on the phone.
Please, please help me. Phones are expensive in South Africa

Hi, thanx for your quick response. it is really much appreciated.
Yes I am s-off. ok, I copied the zip file to the sd card, restarted phone "back button+power button", (vol button+power button does not work), vol button down to recovery, and the phone restarted. But now it does not get pass the htc logo.

Yh sometimes u need to format ur sdcard aswell before it reads it.
Theres a guide here in desire general and "how to partition sdcard correctly" read that, im sure abbbbaaaab explains mount2sd aswell. Worth a read.
