Hello..
I´m am trying to get CM9 to work on my xperia arc s (LT18i)
But when i flash boot.img with fastboot, my phone keeps restarting.
I got the free xperia logo, ore what there is written, and then it reboots.
I know i should press volume down button, but nothing happens, it just reboots.
I have rooted, unlocked bootloader, and even installed CWM before i flash the boot.img
The boot.img comes with the download, so i dont think its the problem there?
My phone was clean, no custom rom.
And i press a lot of times on volume down button
Can you help me?
There is some problem with kernel provided with FXP124.
Try the kernel from post #2359 of this thread instead:

As mentioned my home button isn't working after installing doom kernel. What i did was unlocked the bootloader after rooting my arc and then install doomkernel. Everything worked fine till i realise the home button isn't working but it can be used to unlock the screen other than that long pressing won't bring up multitask and it refuses to go to the homescreen with the press.
Anyone can help me with this?? Much appreciated!!
i read once about this problem..
Fixed by installing cyanogenMOD on phone or
second option, relock bootloader and back to stock and original SE ROM
Solved. just had to flash fresh FW
Hello,
i installed MIUI 2.2.17 and it's great.
But Miui hasnt got the feature to reboot into the Bootloader.
So, is there are option to boot into bootloader without fastboot?
On my Desire HD i can press Volume down and start the phone, so it will instantly boot into bootloader.
But with my Xperia Play this doesnt work.
Please help me, i dont know how to flash another rom now
Flash another kernel, perhaps Doomkernel, and your CWM Recovery should be there again.

bootloader?
fastboot - search
flashmode - back
recovery - vol down/up or back.
to flash new rom stock ftf etc. u need to boot in to flashmode with the back button while usb is connected (dont turn phone on just press and hold back then plug usb in.)
If you want access to Fastboot, just plug the previously switched off phone to a USB port while holding Search.
I have installed CyanogenMod 11 custom rom to my Xperia Arc S. After flashing boot.img through flashtool, device got shutdown. Till now everything was fine. But after this the tutorial said to start the phone and after the phone vibrates, start pressing the volume down button. I did the same. But after vibration, phone is not showing anything. It shows dim light on screen but its not showing either the logo nor its starting. The LED light on side turns to purple but nothing happens after that. I did this with every button but its not starting. Pls halp me out....
Thanks...

Tell more about this. How did you do it, what happened, what buttons did you press etc etc.
Yes. I have installed kernel for it via flashtool. Initially after doing this it was not going to recovery mode and also it was not getting connected to flashtool. But now it is getting connected to flashtool in fastboot mode. So tried to flashing with 10.2 version, it showing finished but again the same problem. Its not going to recovery mod.
as in, HOW did you flash the kernel exactly. Dont just say you used flashtool, how did you use it? What combination did you use to get into fastboot? Any errors in flashtool? How did you boot into recovery (I.e. which keys did you press) and does the LX kernel logo even appear on boot?

First check does that kernel has built in recovery...If nothing works,to get your phobe to work flash stock .ftf file with flashtool.
Do you have unlocked bootloader?
And try one more thing, when you turn on the phone start pressing volume down (-).)!

I think i have the same problem as OP.
I decided to try out LegacyXperia CM11 and installed it yesterday. It went well, but it is still kinda buggy so i decided to go back to besttt's Slim Bean. I copied rom files on SD card and went to flash kernel (darkanzuEOL). I flashed it through Flashtool like every other time and it went without errors so i proceeded to boot into recovery so i can flash the rom. This is where everything stopped working normally. After i power on the phone and press voldown to enter cwm it just gets stuck on cwm loading screen. If i dont try to get into recovery it just bootloops. I tried several kernels i have on my HDD and always the same result.
I'm downloading stock img to flash and see if that will help. will let you know what happens.
EDIT:
Stock img worked, now i'm back on slim. Only other thing i changed ( which i think is the cause) is i used original sony usb cabel instead of my Nexus 7's i used originaly

did you unlock your bootloader? Unlocked bootloader allows you to flash the custom kernel for your phone and it is vital for booting up custom rom like cyanogenmod, paranoid android, slimbean, etc. Every rom need a correct kernel for it successfully boot up, for example, if you are using stock rom(original rom from sony), you will need stock based kernel for it .Ok, now get back to the topic, you said that your phone had boot failed after installing a custom rom and only sony logo shows up. That means your kernel is stock kernel and not match with your rom so thats why your phone wont boot up. You will need to flash the boot.img included in your rom.zip before flashing the rom. Now try this tutorial to recover your phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
My Sony Xperia Z5 Premium now is running 3rd part ROM. Unfortunately it looks like some problem because battery is dropping so fast without gaming or video watching. So I decided to use Sony FlashTool recovery stock system. And there is the problem: I already flash the TWRP recovery, I can get into Fastboot mode(BlueLED), but once FlashTool ask for "Press Volume Down button(I know its Hold the button), and plug in cable" it should into FlashMod(GreenLED), but my phone just into TWRP recovery and FlashTool still waiting for Flashmod.
I think solution is using a stock recovery system rather than TWRP. But I just cannot get stock recovery in every where.
Help me plz
And I am sure about I already installed drivers requested.

OK, I just solved my problem. That gad damn Volume Down button just broken XD
