[Q] Home button malfunction after using doomkernel - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As mentioned my home button isn't working after installing doom kernel. What i did was unlocked the bootloader after rooting my arc and then install doomkernel. Everything worked fine till i realise the home button isn't working but it can be used to unlock the screen other than that long pressing won't bring up multitask and it refuses to go to the homescreen with the press.
Anyone can help me with this?? Much appreciated!!

i read once about this problem..
Fixed by installing cyanogenMOD on phone or
second option, relock bootloader and back to stock and original SE ROM

Solved. just had to flash fresh FW

[Q] Problem With CM9 FXP124

Hello..
I´m am trying to get CM9 to work on my xperia arc s (LT18i)
But when i flash boot.img with fastboot, my phone keeps restarting.
I got the free xperia logo, ore what there is written, and then it reboots.
I know i should press volume down button, but nothing happens, it just reboots.
I have rooted, unlocked bootloader, and even installed CWM before i flash the boot.img
The boot.img comes with the download, so i dont think its the problem there?
My phone was clean, no custom rom.
And i press a lot of times on volume down button
Can you help me?
There is some problem with kernel provided with FXP124.
Try the kernel from post #2359 of this thread instead:

[Q] Help screen turns on randomly

Hi guys,
I am facing a huge problem with my mobile of late (Xperia Arc LT15i). I recently flashed a kernel (Stock ICS Kernel 4.1.B.0.431 with CWM 5.5.0.4) with the stock ICS .431 running on it. I am not sure if it is a co-incidence or not but i am having facing screen turning on randomly of late.
It is highly erratic no proper timing or such. Some times it turns on immediately after i turn it of using the power button or after some time. It also turns on continuously 3-4 times after it times out once it turns on.
I tried flashing back to the stock kernel found in the global firmware ftf. But the problem still persists.:crying::crying:
I tried searching for it but haven't found out any solution. Can anyone kindly help me with this or provide a link to the solution if there is any???
Ps. it is unlocked and out of warranty (more than a year old).
lol problem
have your powerbutton an issue? try that: boot to cmw, select advanced and than key test. if you don't pressed any key, but there are numbers for keys recently pressed your power button got an issue. (would also work with home button)
if not it must be a software defect..
simply use flashtool, reflash with everything wiped, backup your sd card and format, copy again on sd card, and try if problem persists. that would be not realistic ;D

how long do you recommend me to run that test? If in case there is a hardware problem how do i take care of it???
Not sure what your problem is, but I believe that Sony warranty is for 2 years. Well that's what they told me when I had my cracks repaired after 13 months : )

Confirmed reverting from v9 to v7 and updating to v8 root ,unlock working perfect...

Using lgnpst reverting to v7 and updating to v8 root and unlocking its working perfect,,,just make sure after rooting unlocking and installing custom recovery power off your phone and by pressing vol(up) + power button it wiil get you to bootloader, then press twice vol(down) +power=custom recovery....otherwise after unlocking rooting and clock recovery if you dont turn it off and trying to get bootloader and custom recovery a black screen its going to appaer and it will look like a softbrick....if you make a mistake let the phone battery die and then plug to the power about 5 minutes....
These instructions are like everywhere else lol but thank you haha

[Q] How to change flashtool backbutton config in Arc S

Hi friends,
In my friend's Arc S, the back button is ruined after she mistakenly dropped it in the pool. And since we have enabled the on screen button mod, there is no problem in usual usage, the issue is that we can't connect it to flash via flashtool for a custom ROM for rooting. (as it requires to press the back button).
Any ideas?
Unlock bootloader and flash custom kernels and ROM's with menu button.
