This might be a stupid question. Sorry about that.
I realized RAM of HTC One v didn't add up to 512 mb as the phone specified. It add up to be only about 360 mb. Which cause a bit trouble is it normal? Or is it my phone that it's faulty?
Thanks.
its normal mate
other unavailable ram is used by the Android os

Hi,
i used to to have s2, and in that cell can free upto 550MB RAM, but in one x can't seem to get more then 300MB RAM, with same amount of applications, how i can get more ram? very few programs are running in the background and they are same as in s2
thx
if you are rooted try the supercharger v6 script, it is very useful and on the highest memory kill settings you can get up to 500mb free even more but it depends on how many apps you have installed. it kills lag and cannot possibly cause any bootlooping problems and such.

Ryan, have you tried the supercharge script yourself already? It's just whenever I try and flash the .zip in recovery my notification bar dissappears. Did this happen to you?

Agreed!!
It seemed as if I had better battery usage when my phone was supercharged though. Not as good multitasking but slightly better core performance and battery.

but low ram means slow multi-tasking and more battery drain

Hi all,
Had a weird issue with my HOX that nearly caused me to throw it out of the window. Kept wiping and reinstalling and getting massive lag - seems that if I have less than a couple of GB free on the internal SD card, it throws a wobbler and goes *incredibly* slowly. Anyone else seen this? Is this considered normal?
It does it when you copy big amounts of media, while the phone is cacheing it all.
I but 16gb of music and my hox went slow for about a week.

It's a known bug, when it runs low on memory it will get slow. Just delete some **** you don't need.

yup im also having 246 mb constantly used space on RAM... bt my phone is faster as usual... that doesnt cause my phone to slow down... are you getting lesser used space on RAM right after every reboot ??? i think it wont change....
thanx for help....i found solution. Go to playstore and download taskmanager which shows youbrealtim process....and after installing end all real time process. It will free up that partition. This part is for real time process which we can not see normally....

So, I have the HTC One V (CDMA) and when I first turned it on, it had 498 MB of RAM. When I check it now, it says I only have 316 MB of RAM!! 176MB is used and the rest is unused. What happened to the 196MB? I checked with Speed Booster Pro and the default Task Manager.
Don't worry, its fine.you will never get 512mb complete ram.it is occupied by temporary tasks and processes.even if you get around 200mb,its perfectly fine.
Edit:it is just hidden, you cannot see it.but,it is there.even on the first ever boot of the phone, you cannot see it all.

Oh, Must have seen something else then
I've gotten 170 free before...
I'm running with the most ram I've had in a while and that's 92 mb pretty consistently.

Maybe they're on SUPrimo. The ram values aren't edited so it says 768MB total

With the newest version of simon's SuperSlick kernel for AOSP 4.1.2 you end up getting 423mb RAM from the normal 333mb of you would receive in the past. I currently have 194mb of free RAM on the newest build of PACman for CDMA.
Plz any can tell me how i can boost my one x ram. It uses commonly use more then 800mb.

You can't increase ram but you can try this mod to solve your lags : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133
It's how android (linux) works. Caches apps to ram to speed things up. So a near full ram doesn't mean slowing down the phone. 1GB of ram is still good enough.
