This seems to be normal but is there anyway to pull it a bit down ? Thanks in advance, because my ram is around 200MB now... I like swiftkey X. But I don't want to uninstall it just reducing the ram usage
did you install any OOOM or tweaks or scrips?
like v6 supercharger?
try it,
it'll work

Just don't.
If an app includes a battery-draining service, uninstall the app and look for alternatives.
Android operates like this: no matter what you do to kill a service,
if it's coded in the app to constantly run, it will be restarted every time.

what app are you having issues with???
Pvy.
Map, some games, music, updater.. i killed them many times but still they're running.. Those ****ty things make my RAM left 50 =.=
root phone and remove the stock apps. Music will always run until you first end the service.

And now? What will you do with free RAM? Exactly, nothing...Android will free RAM if it needs more...don't worry, it's an intelligent OS...
wanna free more ram, just turn off the phone and turn it back on again
but, last day my phone RAM stable between 100-130, now 40-50 T.T

RAM is not affected by downloads, it has nothing to do with internal storage.

RAM decreases over time.
If you face lags, just reboot.
If not, don't bother.

hey all,
i just got my Galaxy w, and the RAM is always at 315, give or take, after 2x "clear memory" i can get it to 260 - 270, and i noticed that the home screen takes about 3-5 secs to load after i press the home button from a browser or some other apps.
i used autokiller app to optimize the memory and with the strict settings i can get it to be in the 260-290 area.
is this normal ?
Stop using killer apps, it doesn't optimize your RAM because Android has an other way to manage memory than desktop PCs.
Download the Gemini Manager and deactivate the apps which don't have to be loaded as auto run.
You can also block/lock the bloatware.

Really? Didn't you mean 351MB?
You can look here too:

You can disable all additional programmes beside the stock apps. Don't disable your Launcher, because this is required to boot up. Messengers like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. need autorun in order to push the new messages on your device. Which apps to disable depends also on your individual way of usage. Some use Locker apps etc. So you have to experiment a bit. If it comes down to stock apps, you will have to find out whether it is required for the ROM.

I don't use anymore the stock ROM, so my ROM doesn't contain bloatware.
You will have to search the net or this forum, I remember someone posting the apps which are required on the stock ROM.

I got HTC One V for me and now after 3 days, just 45MB of RAM is FREE. No apps are running / opened.
Also when I touch the 'home' button on the bottom of the screen, it says 'loading' and after about 10 seconds of waiting, the home screen appears. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?
That's quite unusual. When idling with no apps open, my phone has anything from 50 - 120 mb of RAM free. Could you provide more details that would help us identify the problem (i.e anything you've downloaded/modified recently, screenshots of your task manager page, running any custom launchers, any custom ROMs, rooted/unrooted etc.)

You have also apps that are running on Cache slot. See first screen? Go to that again, press menu on your phone to bring up the menu screen and select Show cached processes. Also, it is a good advice to restart your phone once in awhile. Just to make sure that the cache is rebuilt and the ram is defragmented.
Cheers

My ram is only at 46mb-100mb if i'm lucky. it isn't a big deal with the way RAM works. you actually want your ram used rather than free.
use diskusage.
See if my signature can help you in any way.

if you look at silentvistor's sig, it gives good ideas how to reduce background processes. you can also install tb and freeze a lot of the unncessary apps if you are rooted.
i have ran tw and aosp roms, and never had close to that much free ram unless i'm constantly closing out of the apps and killing them. it actually takes more battery to kill and fully reopen an app than it does to have it running in the bg. just get rid of the apps you don't want to use/run in the background.
use diskusage to find big folders, go in there, and see why you have such low memory. if it is stuff you want to keep, get a big sd card and move it all there or use a sd swap script.
Looking for a App that does as above without taking up much memory in the background whilst doing so. I trialed Smart Booster app and it allowed me too disable auto start for apps I don't need and hibernate others etc but sorta felt like the app itself drain my battery just as much as the apps that were auto starting. Thanks in advance
It's not free, $1.49. But it's worked for me in the past. Personally don't think it will be very useful on this device.

Why do you want free RAM? Free RAM is wasted RAM. Android doesn't need you to constantly clear the RAM. It's actually bad to do that because you need to use more CPU power to recompile the whole app when you open it again until we fully switch to ART which pre-compiles all apps.
Also Android by design will dynamically close apps to make room if it needs more RAM than you have available. Plus not clearing it will safe battery because the CPU will run less cycles when you use apps.
That's just my opinion, however I'm sure you have a reason as to why you wan to clear the RAM. I just thought it was with mentioning the above in case you didn't know.

Reason = Battery Drain. I don't use the Radio, EVER. So why is it showing in android os in the battery settings? Just like quite a few other processes sitting in that long ass list. That's why I ask.

There's a free version if the app that allows you to freeze apps still, but it won't let you do batch operations if I remember correctly.
