as for the answer to your question, check the [rom] threads and read them completely and then try different ones to find one you like.

Cpu master / set cpu for overclocking

hi all, trust you are doing fine. i recently flashed a CM7 rom, (yey ! noob ) and would like to overclock my device.. Do i need to install app like CPU master or SET cpu or it would be better just to use the CM7 settings then -> performance to overclock. hope you guys could help me out..

Lost root

Hi guys. I'm running paranoid android Rom and I just updated it and for somereason iI lost my root. Is anyone else having problems with this?

Go to dev options and make sure it's enabled for apps and adb

I went into the options and it showed it was enabled. But I unchecked the box then checked it again and it works fine now. Thanks you so much

Hey, New guy on this device thread
Yes, I did try search but it's confusing and I don't want to mess up my new tablet,I have a Kindle Fire HD (2nd Gen) and I'm looking to install a custom Rom because stock OS is pretty basic, minimal and lacks many popular features, can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thought I'd mention ahead of time this is the wrong forum, I can't grab the entire 2nd gen forum link from my kindle but I just made a post that someone asked pretty much the same thing for their 7" HD, you didn't happen to mention your kindle model so I will send you where I just posted, but if its a 8.9" model, then you will want to follow the same tutorial, but from the 8.9" development section, made by the same guy. There are many ROMs for the KF HD, but this is the wrong thread. This belongs in the thread for the Kindle Fire HD -

Yes, agreed. I would suggest you go to the Kindle Fire HD general or Q & A forums, there are quite a few valuable resources there, including a guide I made recently based on the methods I followed to root my device and install Jelly Bean.
