[Q] Original 2.3.6 Radio for Kias ICS Update - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi there I have my original 2.3.6 backed up with Rom Manager and It looks like after restore Kias still telling me this device cannot be updated via Kias, and I am thinking this is because of Blaze 4G modem firmware I used to with ICS. Now my question is what RADIO I need to flash the phone with so Kias is okay with updating it.
Thank you very much.
P.S.
I see some posts on this subject yet I see few different one .... so what do I use ?

Make sure you have the stock recovery. If you have that and stock firmware you should be good to go. I THINK the radio shouldnt matter when updating.

Well originally I rooted my device then installed Rom Manager and did backup. So basically it's stock rom + root. And Kias see device and everything yet it saying that It can't update connected device. I am thinking because there is none available or it just can't.

must be on stock ROM before you do any update via Kies. If you are not you would brick the device while updating

[Q] Firmware Backup How?

How do I get the stock firmware off my phone. I have two of these phones and put a European firmware on one of them. Now I would like to go back to the stock firmware for Bell in Canada which is on the other phone. I was hoping to use Odin to load the Firmware, but have no idea how to get it off my phone.
As far as I can tell I need clockworkmod, but ROM Manager doesn't have my device listed.
Install this clockworkmod build by arco68http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446593
It's because our device not yet hve a official CWM...that's why it's not listed in rom manager...
After install that, don't forget to thank him...

Baseband only refers to the modem. If you search the development threads, you will find zips to update the modem in clockwork.
As for stock updates, they require the stock recovery to work so if you have clockwork or twrp recovery installed, you will have to go back to stock to receive the ota updates.
Finally on the Jellybean update, you won't miss it. When released, I'm sure the awesome Devs here will pick it up and it would only be a matter of time before a custom rom is released. The benefits of running 'custom' far outweigh anything that releases 'stock'.

[Q] Captivate Glide is Rooted. Or not..?

So recently I rooted my phone to ICS, using an AT&T leak. I flashed it, and all has been working until now. I tried to boot into download mode, and it won't work. I have tried many various tutorials to try and get it into download mode (For reference, I want to boot into download mode because I plan on using dman's cyanogenmod 10 glide release, and wanted to make sure all was working before I rooted again). So, knowing that something was wrong, I tried using various programs and apps to attempt to uninstall the current ICS ROM. However, all apps that I tried claim that I'm not rooted. I've done a few factory resets, and I made sure to check that my 'About Phone' settings did in fact say I was on 4.0.4. I know it is the leak, because the baseband clearly says I'm on I927UCLG9. Would be willing to upload any screenshots if necessary. Can anyone help me figure out what could be wrong? Would it be possible to simply wait for the official ICS update from AT&T, or would I have to unroot to do so? The main problem for me is that everything says I'm not rooted in any way, yet I know I clearly am. Sorry to be a complete idiot, just began rooting, and didn't think I would run into problems based on the replies to the original forum.
Just because you flashed the AT&T leak does not give you ROOT. you need to get root in 1 of 2 ways.
1. VIA CWM Install the Super User package.
2. VIA CWM install a Rooted ICS Kernel (Like Lite Kernel).
Both methods listed require CWM (Clock Work Mod) which you need to install via ODIN in PDA mode.
If you can find it you can also via Odin install a Rooted ICS Kernel (Not same file as used in CWM).

Need Help Updating

I am not new to the android / xda community by any means, but I can say that I am either missing something or information is incredibly dis-contiguous. That said, on my older HTC phones I pretty much went through hastle to get them rooted and then just flashed whatever Via recovery.
I have managed to figure out how to get root and flash custom recovery and all that jazz. I also had a custom rom at one point, but I like stock rooted better.
ANYWAY I am on Baseband L900PALJC and Build JRO03C. I keep getting those stupid update notifications and I would like to get updated to the correct Profile / Baseband / Radio / Stock Rom ETC. can someone briefly explain what all needs to be done or point me to a somewhat organized set of valid instructions ? I am currently downloading the newest toolkit.
You're already rooted so you don't need that toolkit. Go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148604 and download the odex ROM and the All in One firmware. Flash the firmware which will upgrade that from LJC to MA7. Then flash the odexed ROM. You will be rooted, upgraded to the latest firmware and the latest stock ROM (MA7).

do not double post.
you are currently ON the latest stock firmware for your device. are you wanting to install a custom ROM to get a newer (4.2.2) release?
you can use Rom Manager to update your recovery. once thats done, if you havent done so yet, boot into recovery and make a nandroid (backup). you may need it down the road.
yes!
Yes I want to know how i can update my 4.1.1 once the newer Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update is available.
i have made a nandroid back and i also made a titantiam backup..

The 4.2.2 custom roms are located in the Original Android Development section. There is no 4.2.2 update from samsung. Look them over and read up on the flashing process. The link in my signature has some good information.
