I'm on a permrooted g2 with Soff and using Bacon Bits for overclocking...
I really don't want sense or any other mods, but I'm desperate for a 100% reliable Trackpad wake and LED Notification (the speaker LED) and Overclocking.
Can I modify my existing Rom or flash something that's the stock rom but with these three tweaks?
I miss the LED notification, there might be an app for that though to fix it... I hated that it didn't flash or light up unless its on the charger but the trackpad does (well around it does)
I'd suggest using Cyanogens rom, both the trackpad wake, Speaker LED, and everything else. It's stock and also comes with a few tweaks and extra features you'd probably like.

Still in RC mode. I really don't want to use a less stable rom if it's only for those simple features. I guess I'll just keep waiting. Maybe they'll add it to Bacon Bits.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't baconbits 0.3 do that? Not to mention you get to keep your old rom
CM is stable from what I heard, as usual.

LED notifications just randomly started working on Bacon Bits...
And I flashed some Desire Trackpad wake rom that's working now...
So I'm actually all set now.. so long as those features continue to work... I had to reboot a few times but now it's all working.

I know this question will cause some debate but what would you say is the best rom for the galaxy nexus?
ARHD
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
What does that mean??
You didn't see a rom in the dec section that might be abbreviated ARHD? Or any of the other "what's the best rom" threads, for that matter?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
How about AOKP? Try that abbreviation
Terminators run on Android
I'm using rootzboat. I'm really good.

Definitely Android Revolution HD (ARHD). I tried others but none were as sweet as ARHD.
I used android revolution but was tired of being on 4.0.2 as the developer was waiting for Google to drop 4.0.3 binaries.
And Franco's kernel was for 4.0.3 only. So I started using Aokp and I simply love it. Aokp + Franco Kernel is a amazing mix for performance and battery.
Aokp also adds new features such as power saver to help with battery and with various status bar tweaks.
Aokp +, Franco kernel.... Nothing gets any better. Also Aokp pushes updates every other day so you can expect goodies every 3-5 days.

Always use Paul O'Brien Modaco roms. They simply work and let you get on with customising your phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
RootzBoat is by far my favorite. I like how it stay's true to AOSP and just adds little extras. Nothing too fancy and feels smooth.
I haven't installed one yet...I'm looking at Android Revolution and AOKP right now, but leaning toward the latter because I'd love to give Franco's a shot. Problem is I'm kind of thinking I should just wait for 4.0.3 to drop and go from there. I'd like to get it the day it drops, if possible.
Right now I'm just using stock rooted+unlocked with the 4.0.3 radio firmware. I'd love to install some graphical mods (mainly a status bar battery mod) but can't on Stock =(

I used arhd since getting the phone. But wanted 4.0.3. So switched to aokp. But for some reason had delays when unlocking the phone. And sometimes when typing. Tried wiping etc. No joy
So I am now using eagles blood with Franco kernal and can't fault it at all. Fb sync and the lock screen and great features.
For a perfect from I would want the power saver and UI mods of aokp. With the cm9 launcher mods. And the eb lock screen. Someone want to make it for me!

Haven't tried any others, but Axiom is great. Wait for 2.4 update for VZW services fix though.
AOKP looks cool. They have the HC quick settings menu and a slew of options. Pretty slick.
RootzBoat has a good rom too with lots of options. I just hate how they label everything RootzBoat (wallpaper, carrier id, etc). I'm also using AOSP CM9 Kangs too. They're all fun. I typically flip between them when one has a few feature that I like.
RootzBoat has a Centered clock option, notification LED color options, and a 4-way lockscreen... but no notification toggles.
I get awesome battery on my CM9 Kang. BIG difference between it and RootzBoat.
I also noticed that MIUI was updated yesterday to a pretty usable state. I haven't personally tried it, and there are some bugs still, but it should be useable now.
AOKP rocks! But I cant wait to see how CM9 develops. They have to add something special to make me leave AOKP.
Me too I've tried other 4.0.3 but to me they just don't compare to the constant smoothness of ARHD

Does anybody know how to fix the low volume when the ringer first kicks in? Let me clarify.. when I receive a call, my ringtone plays very low for about 2-3 seconds, then ramps up slowly. This causes me to miss lots of calls and I hate it. I read that this was a "feature" introduced in Gingerbread. My Evo had this feature as well, but it had a way to be disabled via settings.

I've never seen any setting for this (but doesn't mean it doesn't exist). I know certain ringtones are built that way. Have you tried several different ones to make sure it happens on all of them?
Which rom, version of rom, ect?

Yes it was. I had to correct myself.
If it's happening on multiple GB roms (like I said, a number of these GB roms are based on Calkulin's work, along with a multitude of other contributors), but we're not experiencing the same issues I don't know what to say.
Have you gone back to stock rooted for a day or so just to see the difference?

That is a fairly old post and I'm pretty certain that Calk already implemented that in his latest builds.
Here is a copy of Calk's changelog:
v2.0.1a
Moved Polaris Office & Voice Command to Removed_Apps folder(v2.0.1a)
Removed more traces of CIQ(v2.0.1)
Fixed Kies from crashing(v2.0.1)
Based on new EK02 build
Changed kernel to Rogue Stock EK02 v1.1.1
Crawrj's Hotspot Hack
Disabled increasing ring
Tweaked icons to fit better
Tweaked Battery Saver script
Edit: I'm pretty sure that installing some themes will replace the phone.apk and thereby disabling the tweak.
I've attached Calk's 3.0 phone.apk in a flashable zip. Good luck.
Edit2 : Verified that the Dark Fire theme you're using does replace the phone.apk file. Please flash the one I provided and maybe let the developer of the theme know in case he can correct this in future releases.

Do you think he's basing his theme off of an even older version of the ROM, thus, botching the dialer?

I may have forgotten to replace the phone.apk in the Calkulin compatible version of Dark Fire X (maintaining 3 themes and building a new one). I can extract phone.apk from Calkulin 3.0 and mod it then send it to you.
My only question to the OP is this:
Why didn't you mention this yesterday when I was implementing all of those adjustments/fixes to Dark Fire X for you and CyberpodS2? Surely you would have noticed it then. I have a really busy day today, but I'll try to get that apk to you ASAP.

I have the telus SGH-T989D phone essentially the tmobile T989 running rooted with the darkside Beta 3 ICS ROM that runs fairly stable aside for an occasional freeze.
The only thing I miss from my Galaxy S is the BLN control I had of LED notifications with backlight keys lighting up but that only came by way of the semaphore kernel.
Obviously there is no semaphore kernel here and the darkside ROM is not using this kernel. I cant seem to find a compatible one except for Synergy but not sure if it will really mess things up.
Any suggestions as for another kernel? Otherwise what about an alternative to BLN control? Ive seen programs like lightflow and NO LED but they dont seem to be working.
Thanks in advance.

To expand on this, once we have source bln will most likely show up in kernels, til then use GB roms/kernels or wait.

Will the source be released soon after the 6/11/12 ICS official build is released?
Whenever I use JB roms and Google Navigation, I get horrible flickering, blinky screen.
Is there a fix for this issue? Anyone else can confirm they have same problem?
Disabling HW overlays does not fix the issue.
Also tried changing debug.composition.type = gpu does not fix either.
Flashed back to ICS roms, issue doesn't exist. So it's definitely a JB only issue.
I've tried several different JB roms (CM10, AOKP, XquiZit XD), they all exhibit same problem.

I'm not a NOOB at this. I pretty sure I done the build.prop edits right.
I was running Faux 10/15 kernel, maybe that was what's causing the flickering.
I've tried Lean Kernel 1.6 too, flicker was present on that as well.
What kernel are you running?
Anyways, I wanted to be back in ICS TW for the stability and I missed some of the features like Smart Stay, SBeam, etc..
I'll definitely be back on CM10 once things are a little bit more stable.

I'm on the 10/24 build with absolutely no issues other than hold back to kill sometimes not working. Other than that with those build.prop edits it's pretty flawless. And with those edits running the stock kernel and ktoonsez kernel removed artifacts and flicker. I recommend a newer build. So much has happened and improved since the 15th. Oh and I wasn't saying you were a noob or anything, I was saying you are a human and we qll make mistakes. I've tried changing things and forgot to simply save the file or adjust permissions or something stupid like that. But I'll upload the stock build.prop with those edits as a flashable zip for you to try.
