Whenever I use JB roms and Google Navigation, I get horrible flickering, blinky screen.
Is there a fix for this issue? Anyone else can confirm they have same problem?
Disabling HW overlays does not fix the issue.
Also tried changing debug.composition.type = gpu does not fix either.
Flashed back to ICS roms, issue doesn't exist. So it's definitely a JB only issue.
I've tried several different JB roms (CM10, AOKP, XquiZit XD), they all exhibit same problem.
Build.prop edit:

debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=3

debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=0

If you did change this as well.

Yeah made both build.prop edits and saved then rebooted.
Flickers seems worse afterwards.

Hm, not sure then, those edits work for CM10. Figured they'd be universal. Did your build.prop have them originally? I never ran a TW ROM. Well other than stock for like 2 hours till i got home xD Which ROM are you on?
I was on CM10 10/24 nightly as of a few minutes ago just flash back to FrostyICS 4.0.4 v3.
I use navigation daily. Flickering was bugging me out. Guess i'll wait for official JB release to see if flickering gets fixed. Thanks for trying to help a brotha out.

Well it works for me and others on cm10. Are you sure you did everything properly?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I'm not a NOOB at this. I pretty sure I done the build.prop edits right.
I was running Faux 10/15 kernel, maybe that was what's causing the flickering.
I've tried Lean Kernel 1.6 too, flicker was present on that as well.
What kernel are you running?
Anyways, I wanted to be back in ICS TW for the stability and I missed some of the features like Smart Stay, SBeam, etc..
I'll definitely be back on CM10 once things are a little bit more stable.

I'm on the 10/24 build with absolutely no issues other than hold back to kill sometimes not working. Other than that with those build.prop edits it's pretty flawless. And with those edits running the stock kernel and ktoonsez kernel removed artifacts and flicker. I recommend a newer build. So much has happened and improved since the 15th. Oh and I wasn't saying you were a noob or anything, I was saying you are a human and we qll make mistakes. I've tried changing things and forgot to simply save the file or adjust permissions or something stupid like that. But I'll upload the stock build.prop with those edits as a flashable zip for you to try.

Alpha 3 was pretty good, the only bugs I noticed were fairly menial, e.g. phone would not rotate correctly, would lag from time to time when going through contacts. 4 is out now, and the more people that can test it and report to the devs, the quicker they can isolate the problems and correct them
Most of the bugs are fixed. Only noticable bugs I've seen since Alpha 4 is tearing in some video playback and some artifacts in video recording. You could pull the contacts.apk from the rom and "try" it, but idk if it's Android 4.0 dependant.

Does anybody know how to fix the low volume when the ringer first kicks in? Let me clarify.. when I receive a call, my ringtone plays very low for about 2-3 seconds, then ramps up slowly. This causes me to miss lots of calls and I hate it. I read that this was a "feature" introduced in Gingerbread. My Evo had this feature as well, but it had a way to be disabled via settings.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
I've never seen any setting for this (but doesn't mean it doesn't exist). I know certain ringtones are built that way. Have you tried several different ones to make sure it happens on all of them?
Which rom, version of rom, ect?

Oops, looks like this feature was removed from the rom I am on. Probably several others too that are based on Calk's GB rom.

Yes it was. I had to correct myself.
If it's happening on multiple GB roms (like I said, a number of these GB roms are based on Calkulin's work, along with a multitude of other contributors), but we're not experiencing the same issues I don't know what to say.
Have you gone back to stock rooted for a day or so just to see the difference?

That is a fairly old post and I'm pretty certain that Calk already implemented that in his latest builds.
Here is a copy of Calk's changelog:
v2.0.1a
Moved Polaris Office & Voice Command to Removed_Apps folder(v2.0.1a)
Removed more traces of CIQ(v2.0.1)
Fixed Kies from crashing(v2.0.1)
Based on new EK02 build
Changed kernel to Rogue Stock EK02 v1.1.1
Crawrj's Hotspot Hack
Disabled increasing ring
Tweaked icons to fit better
Tweaked Battery Saver script
Edit: I'm pretty sure that installing some themes will replace the phone.apk and thereby disabling the tweak.
I've attached Calk's 3.0 phone.apk in a flashable zip. Good luck.
Edit2 : Verified that the Dark Fire theme you're using does replace the phone.apk file. Please flash the one I provided and maybe let the developer of the theme know in case he can correct this in future releases.

Do you think he's basing his theme off of an even older version of the ROM, thus, botching the dialer?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
I may have forgotten to replace the phone.apk in the Calkulin compatible version of Dark Fire X (maintaining 3 themes and building a new one). I can extract phone.apk from Calkulin 3.0 and mod it then send it to you.
My only question to the OP is this:
Why didn't you mention this yesterday when I was implementing all of those adjustments/fixes to Dark Fire X for you and CyberpodS2? Surely you would have noticed it then. I have a really busy day today, but I'll try to get that apk to you ASAP.

Probably little to no differences between 4.1.1 and CM10 yet, as all of AOSP has been merged and CM9 is being finished prior to major testing of merging CM9 features into CM10.
Does it have t9 dialer? Otherwise im happy with stock

Me too.. but I'm using Notification Toggle app with CM9 custom icons and it's working fine.
The only thing I miss from CM9 is themes support, but honestly JB is sooooooo smooth that is the first time I'm considering stick with an original ROM, not CM or other custom.

Confirmed. The camera is borked. It's pretty snappy. Looks a little different here and there and the system sounds are noticeably louder than stock. There's probably more that's been changed...I mean obviously cm kernel is there. Can't be a daily of course, but WOW! that was FAST!
Does anyone have a mirror for the Gapps`? Ive tried the goo.im one for a cople of hours now, it just keeps telling me that there are some problems with the servers
Hey guys, I've been using Task's AOKP for as long as I can remember, but now I have a bit of a change and have to start driving a lot. On his ROM, I used the LeanKernel which was the absolute best for my phone. It never heated up, easily got 4 hours screen on time, etc. But now I need to use a TW Rom, because all AOSP / AOKP ROM's have messed up bluetooth. 4.1 had a 'fix' where I would have to call a number for bass to start coming through, which really wasn't a fix at all. And now on 4.2 bluetooth is just broken. I switched back to TW and bluetooth is fine, but unfortunately my battery sucks. So I am wondering if there is anything like the LeanKernel out there for TW?
