awh. my dash is stuck on the boot up screen. i tried flashing and coldboot multiple times. now i nee help baaaad :C
Did you go through Ook's brilliant tutorial for unbricking?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540492
If its stuck booting, chances are its not bricked, but corrupted. Hold the 2 soft keys and press the power for 3 seconds. It should boot the recovery process, and reset it to default settings.
see i already did that. tons of times. i even flashed the non cooked rom many many times. and i dont have another htc device to gold card with.
wat does it do? does it just freeze or does it keep turning on?
it just freezes at the start up screen

Do you have a card reader? If not, you can use other phone (not excalibur) to format and create the gold card. I've used a Motorola V3xx to do all of these, so just get other phone that uses sd card and you can use it to create your gold card.
i thought i need a window mobile device to do active sync wit
try to plug the use cable in to you pc.. then take the battery out of your phone for 10-15 seconds then put it back in but dont power the phone.. hold the camera button and plug the usb in you phone..it should take you to the tricolor bootloader then run the stock rom...once it finnish then go thru the steps to reflash...let me know if that helps
um.. running the stock rom is the same thing as reflashin. and i told yall before i did that many times. but ima see if i can use another fone to see if i can still make the goldcard

Try a hard reset and see if that helps out.
Hi, i have a problem with my phone i could not find any solution online.
Two days ago the phone was in my pocket in sleep mode. I took it out and it was closed, no button was responding, i took the battery out, put it back again and started it. It asked for the pin code, i entered then it said "unlocking sim card" then the phone restarted.
From that moment it constantly restarts, regardless of me entering pin code or not, it restarts. I use stock firmware and i didn't do any overclocking or any modifications to the phone.
I tried the boot screen (the one which is entered by pushing yolume down+power button) I did factory reset from that screen, it didn't help. I put the phone in recovery mode and a screen appears and nothing happens, i think it is like a dfu mode in iphone, i don't know how to use it. In the boot screen a green text screen appears for a second says "PC101img.zip is missing" or something like that.
Do i have to load the rom again to this phone? If so how can i do that?
Any help will be appreciated.
Hey,
i've never heard of this issue on any phone.
So you coulds just try to do a few things.
First you could try to flash a new radio ROM.
just see the android developement section and the radio thread.
the radio doesnt change the actual rom on your device so yiou wouldnt loos your data.
it might help it might not, as we dont know what the reason for the issue ist.
when does it reboot? when you enter the sim code?
try a different sim card, just to see if it still happens and/or try to remove the sim passcode.
this might help and might help to see where the issue is...

Thanks for the answer. I didn't try different sim card but i tried to start the phone without the sim card and the sd card. It didn't change anything, it still restarts after few seconds.

I don't see how a new radio would affect the phones sim card...
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA Premium App
The problem seems to be with the sim card. I changed the sim card of the phone and it didn't restart from that moment. I used vodafone sim card with the phone for a week and after a week sim card started restarting the phone.
Is there a known cause of vodafone sim cards doing this?
Re: Constantly reboot...
the same issue does happen on mine! Stock firmware, never rooted, however, I've tried using different SIM cards and removed SD card, the same situation still exists. Reboot and reboot... please help!

Yeah, and randomly suggesting to flash new radios for a problem this person never heard of before is not great advice. Bricking the phone is possible when radio flashing, and should be approached with caution, and only done when there is a radio-specific issue.
Hello!
I have a desire with factory rom and not-rooted, with the htc white screen error. I got it yesterday while I was chatting with ebuddy, this app, and other apps stopped unexpectedly by android and then 'Sense' experienced a force close loop, so I decided to power-off and reboot and now the phone shows the white screen all the time.
I tried to remove the battery, sim card, SD and nothing... I erased all data with vol.down+pwr-clear storage and nothing. I can't load recovery, it stops again in the white screen. It's an orange phone.
Can you help please??? Thank you!!!
Not sure what you mean by "white screen". I assume it's the white screen with HTC? And seeing you can get to bootloader I hope, which is good.
Try this link;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890187
Yes, it's white screen with HTC.
I tried that link yesterday but it doesn't works.
My computer detect the phone (I see fastboot usb on the phone) and if I use fastboot.exe on my computer it works, but RUU installer doesn't. It says ERROR [170]: usb conection error.
Maybe because my phone is locked to orange???
Goto Hboot and try runing RUU

Being an Orange branded ph, has nothing to do with it. Been there before.
You got a USB error, which is something different. Now you'll need to solve that issue.
Are you still under warranty? Might be simpler to exchange it.

RUU mode it doesn't works...
Yes I'm under warranty, but technical support in spain its a really ****... 4 o 5 weeks to repair...
Tomorrow I send the phone to technical support because It's imposible to solve this problem...
I figured this was a long shot, but one of my RHOD's is stuck on the white HTC screen (the first one that pops up after booting).
Now I can get to the tri-color boot screen. I have been able to flash via USB and SD, however no matter what I flash it fails.
The device does have hSPL applied. I have tried flashing EnergyROM, just radio's, stock ROM's (which includes radio, ROM, etc... all of it!), task29... nothing seems to actually fix it. Every time it just goes back to hanging on that white HTC logo.
So any ideas? Anything I haven't tried? I am hoping it's not bricked since it does turn on, and I can flash... Thanks!!
Does it give any errors when it fails to flash? Have you tried another SD card? Have you formatted your SD card with the HP tool? Have you tried sacrificing a demon goat? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQbxmXilRew
Your nand memory might be toast if even task 29 fails. All it does is wipe the nand memory.
This is a real longshot, but it looks like you have tried everything else. Can you re-flash HardSPL? Or maybe try to downgrade hSPL and then upgrade again?
I really want to help (even if giving arrrghhh advice seems so backwards!) but can't think of much else you haven't tried.
You have CDMA right? so no SIM... On my GSM I would try to boot with SIM inserted to see if it makes any difference...
Sorry, if I have any major brain waves I'll be back.
Oh! Can you flash a NAND Android ROM? I read about some people with HD2's that could flash android/WP7 but everytime they flashed WM it would freeze at the white screen.

This was a tester phone, wasn't even used that much... But I guess the guy before me could've burned it out.
Also, I see I wasn't so clear in my OP. No errors, everything flashes fine. task29 flashes fine. ROM's flash fine. Radio's as well... everything seems great until you try to boot the damned thing.
Not sure what vid that is, I'll check it out later. Thanks.

Well thanks for at least tryin . I haven't tried messing with hSPL, but I guess since that's now semi-open I can try without much risk of not being able to go back (used to be a big issue...)
I do have CDMA, but these are 'world-phones'. So they have SIM slots... that's a good point, maybe I should try without the SIM - as my 'main' TP2 doesn't have a SIM and has never had such problems. This one came with the Sprint SIM which I've never used either, but for whatever reason I've kept it around .
I'm pretty sure I tried putting LK on the phone, and the same result. It's been a while since I've tried to flash anything on it tho, so perhaps I'll try that again.
Thanks for the advice, I'll get back to you .
Does it just sit at the loading screen or will it not go beyond the tricolor screen?
It's a long shot, but I have a flash that does nothing but change the white htc screen to something else. It is small. Might be worth a try to see if that works.
I have heard of the sim chips causing issues, but have never experienced them myself. No harm in pulling it out of there.

Yea, when I task29'd I think it changed this screen to say Touch Pro2 at one point... Stock ROM flash changed it back to the white HTC logo.
I can always make it past the tri-color screen - however, I never get past the 'initial' boot screen. I'll try just flashing that just for grins tonight.
What I posted will not put any OS on there. It will let you see if you are writing to the nand at all though. So if you see a new boot flash screen, you are getting somewhere.
... another longshot. After you flash a rom etc. and it fails to boot perform a hardware hard-reset. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK, END and POWER then release and press VOL UP when you see the message.
I don't know, this probably won't help since I can't see anything surviving Task29... but I'm grasping at straws at this point...
OK, sorry that took so long... I've been slackin
Flashed the new boot logo, looks cool... but still frozen. Then I flashed EnergyROM, no dice. Did a hard reset (thanks Caldair forgot about that key sequence)... still no dice.
I guess I'll try relocking, can't hurt at this point.
Edit - wow, relocking seems to have done the trick. It downgraded the bootloader, and then the stock ROM updated it. I am now getting the red text at the bottom of the first boot screen... It seems to be proceeding to WinMo! Unbricked!!

Hello,
I have a HTC ONE X HTC_E11
Bootloader 1.72.0000
baseband 5.1204.167.31
version main:4.18.401.2
PJ4610000
It's rooted and I have Viper ROM installed.
Everything worked fine for a long time until yesterday my phone turned off.
When I put it back on, it didn't ask my sim PIN code and I have no network connection.
When I go to settings I see that the airplane modus is shutting down but it keeps doing that.
When I check the info of my network provider and Imei etc it shows : unknown...
My sim works perfect in my girlfriends phone
I already did a factory reset I did my nandroid backup but still the same.
I also flashed some other roms like AR and Skydragon.
What else can I do? Pls can someone help me out here?
Thanks alot!

well, if you didn't drop the phone, maybe there is some dust on the sim contacts... shut it down, pull the sim out and clean with some compressed air both the slot and the sim; plug the sim again and boot the phone... if it doesn't work, maybe it's a failure of phone/sim (discover it by trying the sim into another phone or ask for a sim change) if still doesn't work maybe the phone broke down...

I already mentioned in my post that I've tried to put the sim in my girlfriends phone and it works just fine.
Didn't drop the phone either...
It has to do something with the radio I guess.
It keeps displaying that it is shutting down the airplane mode.
And in the setting, every option that has something to do with my telephone network is grey, I can't select any of the options
Did you reflash the boot.img a couple of times ? If all roms fail and you don't get an imei to show anywhere it's off to a shop/HTC

Maybe my phone is broken? I have flashed other roms, kernels,radio's...
I restored several backups, even from a year ago...
Should I look for a new phone? ?

As i said.....you need HTC or a repair shop unfortunately. You need to flash parts of the phone that we can't reach, certainly not without s-off and even then writing an imei is still illegal.
