Sprint PRL Update 25004 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I just updated my PRL and it says 25004 - FYI to sprint users!

Yep I got it too

I had that one but it gave me horrible data speeds now I'm flashing Verizon PRLs and some corporate PRLs and getting better data speeds.

[Q] *228 equivalent?

(VZW version.) Thinking an activation and roaming update might help with my shoddy signal strength. Any clues?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I was under the impression that Verizon LTE SIM cards update automatically and that a *228 or *22899 runs the risk of actually disabling it.
Maybe wait for new modems? :/

Yes, there is: use the phone in the early morning or late at night.

When did you start your contract and if you keep pushing it you can but is a lot calls for it to get you out free in the other hand the price of the GN should be enough to get out of ETF( that's what I did)

i just renewed last month. dam so sell the phone for 300 and that should pay the eft fee.
As has been posted here and all over the web several thousand times, Sprint's 3G data speeds are terrible pretty much nationwide. They have a few markets that are ok, but many aren't

Well you could get closed to 400$ but I would try to see if sprints lets you go without fee

flash a Verizon prl on your phone and consume alot of data and sprint will boot you after a month or two of alot of roaming etf free. Its what I am doing.

Yeah that sounds good too

I would do that as well. But I have three phones on one account and that means buying all new phones and 2gnexs and an epic 4g won't pay for new phones and contracts. Unfortunately I'll have to deal with it. Until LTE hits me. At least I hope it does.

when you sell your sprint phones when they cancel your service it will more than cover your new phones. You would actually come out ahead a little.

Yeah I think I'm going the straight talk route.

AT&T GoPhone is one of the worst choices for prepaid smartphones.
Unlocked gsm nexus might wait until thanksgiving for the new 5 nexus devices
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
this is precisely why i'm leaving Sprint and going to T-Mobile. the 4G Wimax is fast (5000kbps) but none of the newer Sprint phones are using Wimax anymore and Sprint's 3G is crawling at <500kbps. Can't wait to activate my nexus on T-Mobile when my SIM comes in!

The only problem I had with it was on the unlimited everything plan for $50, they booted me when they found out I wasn't using a dumb phone but that was after trying to download a ROM haha. Switching to another European phone put data right back on.

Remove cricket throttle?

So I have a Verizon galaxy nexus and I'm flashed to cricket. I've searched for this but none on the galaxy nexus...can someone help me remove their throttle? Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The throttle is most likely carrier sided, You can't do anything about it yourself if it's on the carrier's side.
There is other threads of people doing it by flashing a zip but that was for the zio...he said he was at around 3 gigs over what he was suposed to get. Something in the build.prop
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
If it's anywhere, it's in build.prop. I think, well in Verizon's case, there's a folder called "throttle" or something to that effect. The method should not vary by device, possibly android version though.

Gives your phone a list of towers to roam from, so, assuming you were roaming, I suppose you could test your data speed.
Completely useless data and thread.

Its not a list of towers. List of cellular systems.
Your Sprint pcs band EVDO speeds will be the same on all prls. Even ones from a couple years ago.
