Custom Kernel - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I'm currently using Arconium MIUI rom with stock 4.0.3 kernel and baseband with a locked bootloader. Since i managed to install a custom rom thanks to the cwm auto installer app will i be able to do the same with a custom kernel?
I just dont want to try it without knowing if I can brick my phone permanently or not.
Does the kernel influence the battery life?

Excellent. But do you think it will work flashing a custom kernel, doomkernel for example with the locked bootloader?

[Q] Official ROM on CWM ?

Hi all,
First of all sorry for my english laborious.
I would like to know if it was possible to have a ROM that can be flashed in CWN but it is not changed.
In fact the official ROM to flash in recovery and not with Flashtool.
Thank you in advance
Yes, its possible.
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
The only problem is the vendor folder. CWM packages aren't able to affect it for some reason except vendor/etc

Nope, I don't think so because custom WiFi modules are related to custom kernels. Sure, it is never impossible to mod existing stock modules for that increased connection you are searching and still staying on stock kernel
The best way to get any answer on this question is to ask someone of the kernel developers

Aha you meaned it that way.. Nope that is not possible because custom WiFi modules requires custom kernels and without unlocked bootloader - you are stuck to signed, stock firmwares from Sony / Sony Ericsson.

That may be true for non-stock-based custom roms where they may not run stock Sony apps, but I think custom roms based on stock firmware are fine

Hi, i have a couple of questions. My LT26i is still on 4.0.4 (ICS) and i want to flash a custom rom 4.1.2, is it ok if i flash it? No other requirements? Do i need to flash 4.1.2 firmware first or any other files? I hope someone can guide me to this. I really need guidance about this. Thanks..

Update your xs to 4.1.2 then
You should be able to flash
Just wipe your:
Dalvik
Cache
And if its not stock based then wipe your data
And again if its not a stock based rom ensure your bootloader is unlocked to avoid bricking
I think ive missed something but im sure thats more than enough
Any questions ask
And any one else try to help
