Has anyone had the chance to see if N.O.V.A. 3 has native controller support? I bought it last night but I won't have a chance to try until later this evening.
I looked at some info and seen nothing about custom controls. I am in the process of purchasing it, but if it is like any other Gameloft game there will be no custom controls. I am really on Gamelofts case right now about this as well as their games would be the bomb on the big screen using the Wiimote or sixaxis.
BTW with the ICS builds Wiimote works flawlessly.

i have nova 3 installed and sixaxis too but when i start the game with the sixaxis open it simply FC and freezes the screen.
I just basically took a screenshot of the controls and added the buttons manually in the touch emulation.
Sixaxis now works just fine with nova 3 for me

OK well I went back to the profile I had and I put left button over the weapon switch and assigned it as swipe left. And I chose the right button for over the grenade switch and assigned it as swipe right. I haven't been able to assigned one to switch powers yet as the one I assigned to use powers covers the space lol

No mate just asign one button I tried 2 and it didn't work so asign a button for switching weapons ie left then double tab it and go to button properties then u can choose swipe left or right and then just do the same for the grenade switching. Button use a different button ie right button then do same again double tab and button properties. Hope this helps. I'm totally new to sixaxis so still trying to figure it out myself lol

its like the trackball of the other android devices, just optical -> u can slide over it....and if u hold your finger on the optic sensor u can klick with it, somebody said in a video that u'll get hardware feedback when using the optical joy

Yeah I saw that vid. Simple swiping and clicking can be done with touch screen either. A demonstration of more precise operations is needed.

A real joystick or a real trackpad allows much more than swiping and clicking.
For example, you can hold a joystick direction to trigger autorepeat or make really fast movements without taking finger off.
it's an optical trackball, for want of a better term.
In the same way that you get optical mice as opposed to a mouse with a ball in the bottom. The optical trackpad is simply an optical version of the scroll ball... in other words, same functions as the regular scroll ball without the moving parts.

Dont want my big thumbs messing up the whole screen.
I look forward to the optical tracking system. I suppose it may be because I don't play action style games. I'm more of a puzzle/cards kind of guy. There are very few times I play phone games any how.
Actually i can't see the optical version making more sense, than the mechanical.
I personally almost never use it.
I believe its main uses would be as a hardware camera-button (that is, for taking the photo), and to scroll in text when typing.
Yep....Useless....I use my trackball about once every couple of days. Touch here and touch there is much faster... Oh wait I use it whenever I install a new ROM.. Just checking the threads trying to find something.

That's why desire is good, no trackball sticking out! Nice and small button with optical tracking ;-)
Can it be used like the N1 trackball for missed calls and sms??
Blinking lights I mean
Just to answer a couple of questions:
1) There is no notification light on the optical trackpad.
2) I've tried this with the Nesoid emulator and while it works, it's pretty terrible to use for directional control, but maybe OK for any games that require 'swiping' motions.

Hi There,
It does support Multitouch, but it is pretty fiddly, I think because the image of the onscreen d-pad and buttons to not line up exactly on the Desire with Nesoid. I have had more luck with the multitouch using Snesoid, which feels very good! (i.e, in Super Mario All-Stars I can run and jump at the same time)
what are the best key mappings for nesoid and such youve experienced?? tryna decide whether the virtual keyboard is the best option or not. cant seem to press the right keys sometimes when using the physical keyboard???

Thats what I use, and initially, it felt strange but now its like a normal controller. I used WASZ for the d pad. In GBA, I use JK for a and b, in genesis its HJK and in psx4droid I use IJKM for triangle, square, circle, cross. I also use Q and O for L1/R1 respectively.
Initially, you will keep mispressing buttons, but as you keep playing, it will become second nature.
I am looking for a rom with Virtual Buttons navigational buttons ( like Nexus 7 ). My phone buttons do not work anymore and need this work around.
I am currently running Jellyzeus with turbo kernel.
I edited framework-res.apk myself to enable it but I did not work. I think it is disable elsewhere in the ROM somehow.
It's called navigation bar, it should be available in FXP CM10 rom. Make sure you flash the boot.img from FXP152 to make it bootable.
Various other JB roms have it.

This ROM is awesome. Its exactly what I was looking for. I like it so much Im thinking about installing it on my nexus 7!
Now if I can just find out how to reassign the wake buttons. Ex. Wake the phone from sleep using any of the four buttons on the front of the phone.
On iPhone there is an app called activator, which you can assign different functions to any button or gesture. I am looking for something like that. Nothing Iev downloaded from Play store works, from what I have read it is more of a ROM feature than anything.
Gesture control might work but I don't know if it has a wake feature

Yep I think its great! There is a paid app on market that let's you wake your phone by shaking it here link https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS53aWxkcm9pZC53YWtlLnVwLnNjcmVlbiJd it's not free but gives you a 15min trial to see if works with your phone don't know if that's any good
Yeah I already have something like that for my tablet. That is not going to work for me because I walk alot at work and run at the gym. I dont want to have to remember to turn it on and off.
Simply, I just want all buttons to act like the "home" button on the lock screen.
This is really bugging me now. You would think that this is not hard to do and that I am not the first person to want this.
ok so after many updated with ppsspp i notice i can really play psp games on my xperia play. BUT none of these updates fix touchpads
so i finally tried game keyboard (Which is currently pissing me off!) i got to setup the touchpads to emulate touchscreen touches so i set 2 of them left touchpad acts as the psp analog and the right touchpad acts as a dpad. now when i import a profile and enable it and move the touchpads they work but only for about 5 seconds or as long as i dont let it go. then they never work again! then i switch back to xperia keyboard and back to game keyboard i get 5 more seconds. Why does it keep turning off?

Hi xdarkmario,
I played with Gamekeyboard+ version 6.0.0 some tonight on PPSSPP and got the touchpads to work fine. Here's the steps I took....
I used Quick Setup / Xperia Play-> Touchscreen, and enabled Advance Input and Alternate Key Detect.
Also scrolled down to "Internal Options" and made sure these settings were enabled:
__"8-way D-Pad"
__"Show Start & Select"
__"Show Analog Stick"
__"Re-map Hardkey"
__"Use Analog"
__"D-Pad Drag"
__"Pan Camera"
__ Go into "Custom Layout" and make sure that Layout Edit Mode and "Enable Custom Layout" are enabled
Then go back to the initial GameKeyboard setup screen and touch on "Custom & Test" to make the controls pop out. Now touch in the very center of the D-Pad controller and this should bring up a list of options for the D-Pad. Now select "Rotation" and set the D-pad to be rotated to the Left. Now use the back button on your phone to back out of the Game Keyboard app.
Now boot up your game in ppsspp and go into ppsspp game settings /controls, then enable on screen touch controls... then go back to the game and touch the upper right corner of the touchscreen to make the Gamekeyboard controls pop out. From there, you ought to be able to move things around in the Gamekeyboard app and overlay the buttons/touchpads on top of the ppsspp on-screen touch controls. The Alternate Key Detect setting messed up a couple of the button mappings... (it sticks A & B together) ... so you will have to remap those to make them work right (that's also why you have to rotate the dpad to the left).
After you get everything set up how you like it, you can go back into the ppsspp game control settings and reduce the on screen button opacity down to 0 to make the on screen controls disappear.
Don't forget to save and export the Gamekeyboard gkp profile to your sd card after you get everything done.
something must be wrong with my xperia play! im about to chuck it out the window!!
everything worked BUT ONLY FOR 5-10 SECONDS if i hit start and quickly go to test i can move the touchpads around but after a couple of seconds it just dies! then it will no longer move or sometimes if i hit start it will work for a wile but if i let go of the touchpad and try again it dies!
That's strange. I'm using a Verizon R800x that's running rooted stock 2.3.4 GB with stock kernel. If you're using a different kernel/ROM combination, then I wonder if that might be playing a role. Do the touchpads work fine on other games?
yeah and everything else the touchpads works 100% like this supposed to be they don't turn on and off but only when I'm using this gamekeyboard it turns off after 5 seconds or after I let it go this I don't understand I'm also using an r800x
But with a custom rom and kernel

That looks like a good tutorial and that guy really looks like he knows what he's doing. The Gamekeyboard app in the tutorial is for the older 4.0.0 version, but I would think that the things he does in the video should work with the newer version too.
@xdarkmario, ... If you tell me exactly what rom /kernel setup you're running, then I'll flash those onto my R800x and see if I get the same "5 second" issue that you're experiencing. That would at least help to rule out if it's something wrong with your phone or if it's something else like the kernel/ROM combo.

I've got Dixperia flashed with Lupus. I've never tried it before and I'm really impressed with the ROM so far with the little that I've played with it. My WiFi connected with no problems too with lupus and the rom seems really smooth.
I will try to install ppsspp and test out the Gamekeyboard touchpads tomorrow. I need to get into bed now so I can get up for work in the morning.

Hi xdarkmario,
I tested Gamekeyboard touchpads tonight on DiXperia Enormous with lupus kernel... and they seemed to work fine for me.
I made a rough Gamekeyboard profile for you to try for Gods Eater Burst... you can grab it from this link, gkp profile. After you download it to your SD card, then import/save/and load the profile. Then if you follow the setup steps I used in my previous post, I'm hoping it will work for you.
Ok... so I tried to play Bladeslinger with Gamekeyboard... and now my touchpads aren't working. lol. So I'll play with it some more to see if I can figure out what's triggering this to happen. Will have to wait until this weekend when I get a little more time.
I'm not using game keyboard, but maybe rom have heavy memory menagment and it's killing background apps after 5 seconds.

Maybe tweaks in build.prop? As I see, from zip file of ROM, there are some.
Logcat could be useful too...
When you set transparency more then 0% (visible) , is keyboard app killed or just touchpads doesn't work?

Sorry, I didn't get it. Can you please elaborate.
state > sensors > any sensor > hinge angle
That's awesome. I bought Tasker like a year ago. Everytime I download it I open it, get frustrated, then uninstall it, lol.
I think I love niagra though. It's so minimal on that big screen i think it would be better to just create a one page widget than run two launchers. That side animation was on one preset years ago. I sent my phone to safe mode play with stuff using adb today still have no idea what I did that prompted it.
@jemfalor Sorry I am a noob to the tasker. Where do I select hinge angel in the any sense?
under type, press magnifying glass
@jemfalor thanks for the help mate but it is not working for me. I will pass into it until someone post a detailed video as I have done everything right which Is mentioned in the guide but still no luck.
it is working. just learn to figure things out. change interval type to sample,
Works, but it's glitchy. Sometimes the stock home screen returns until I press the home key. When the device is unfolded and the main screen is visible, pressing the home button causes Nova Launcher to reload, which is pretty annoying. Worst of all, after configuring this, the keyboard keeps reverting back to the Samsung keyboard instead of Gboard, and sometimes the keyboard refuses to pop up at all. Time to undo this damage.

Pretty instantaneous I find, and if the wrong launcher shows, (although this is rare) a swipe up reverts the screen to the correct one.
The Bixby Routines version works well for me.
Now.... If there was only a way to have two instances of Nova Launcher running on the device at the same time, I could have version one layout on the cover screen and version two layout on the inner screen.
Anyone any ideas?
