[Q] Slow mobile data / patchy connections - HTC One X

Sorry if this has been done to death but I did have a search and couldnt find anything specific.
Basically I have had my One X for a few weeks and its all kinds of awesome, and before I bought it through Vodafone I checked signals at work through the web and it should be in the best area, but the data connection is really slow and I struggle to get a voice signal. At home is fine, but out and about is still alittle patchy.
I called Vodafone but they are as useful as a chocolate tea pot, so I thought I would come to people that know what they are talking about.
Im running LeeDroid 6.4, which I hoped would help, but not much.
Is there anything I can do / test to make it better?
Thanks

i was like u with ARHD ROM..try InsertCoin ROM

The only issue I have is that it sometimes takes my phone a while to connect back to the network after going through a 'dead spot'
but internet speeds aren't an issue for me. I am with Three UK

download speed sometimes goes under 1Mbpe with 5 bars signal

I get 7 meg on three in the uk when in the city. At home I get about 2-3meg but three are currently in the process of updating their transmitters anyway, I really can't fault them.
As for wifi performance I get 25 meg via my router where as my laptop connected to the same router via wifi gets 35 meg(39 wired).
Rik.

[Q] Off Center Camera Lens. Is It Normal?

I just noticed that the lens on my HOX is slightly off centred. Can anyone let me know if it's defective or designed that way.

Thanks. I don't know, it keeps bothering me that it's off centre. I'm gonna go bother HTC now.

It's nothing to worry about. I don't think I've ever seen a straight one.
Bugsy
Mine is not aligned either. It's slightly unaligned but I don't mind because it works flawlessly.

sorry for digging this thread but i´m thinking of soff my device which is working perfect for months except for this camera off center issue, so is this normal or you guys think i should send it to warranty ?
Well as people have said its normal and it doesnt affect pictures. If you send to warranty HTC wont repair it/will send you a device which also has an off centre camera. Also its not possible to S-OFF your device yet.
it´s not possible ? why ?

Nobody knows how without access to some special files HTC has, and the people with them are not willing to leak them and lose their jobs.

Copy and Paste sucks on the HOX!

Only thing I miss about the GS3. Am I the only one that struggles every fxxxing time I try and use it?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Problem is solved in latest release . Or try maximus Rom
I have the latest unfortunately, still sucks. Only thing that I really miss about S3. Possible to borrow that? Can't be a simple apk?

Could be maybe search the themes and apps area for solution. Personally find it actually works properly in latest release always used to struggle with it before was very annoying

No sense 4.1. Have you rooted yet ?
Not a good root yet. J.B. is coming out soon, very soon and the way at&t has it locked. Besides a really hot chick from Porto Rico stole my laptop few months back and still not too eager to purchase new just to root and custom ROMs as of yet.
Thanks for the help just buy one for now.

Please aware you are in the wrong forum, proceed here: AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL
Really, what's wrong with one x q&a
Also, have you been to that forum? Nobody there.

Since different variants have different processors and so does kernels and tweaks..
The problems you experiences may not be available for our version. A great example was the serious multitasking problems is not existed on international version.

Battery fault

Hi erryone. i've a following problem with the new HOX.
one day i charged it till 100% and left it OFF.
the next day i tried to turn it on but nothing happened - it drained itself while it was OFF.
i charged again till 100% and the next day the situation repeated.
the battery drains while the HOX is off. this HOX was gaven as a gift and that fault is really embarasing me.
is it possible to solve?
First thing you should try is factory restore. Sometimes due to the bad app something messes up. Anyways if factory reset doesn't help then you should contact HTC

Look at your non-existent mobile signal... it's like dead... might as well use airplane mode.
And on the jellybean it acts like that. Please pay attention to the time from 1 am to 6 am, all this time the handset was charging

Try turning off the "fastboot" option under the power settings.
Something is keeping your phone up.. better post results from better battery stats..
Do one thing.. factory reset the phone.. and don't install a thing.. keep it idle for 2 3hours..if the phone shows a similar behaviour. Then it may be a battery problem.
Did that already. When I just bought the phone it had this behavior already.

Mms issues with Optus AU

I've just come from an incredible S to a one X.
Do the AOSP rooms have the same issue with mms not working when you are on Optus Australia

Yes. Some other guy from Australia was telling the same thing that he can't download MMS when he's on AOSP/AOKP Roms... but it works fine on Sense roms!
Just try it out and see whether it works for you or not...
I can confirm no mms issues with sense roms on Optus (Amaysim) network.
I'm assuming you checked your apn ?
Didn't even need to check apn settings, just put the sim in and everything was operational.
The issue is that Optus uses WAP protocol. There is a way around it but a bit of mucking around. Sense ROM's don't have the same problem, only AOSP etc.

What is the way around it?
You need to set up 2 APN's. One for data and one for mms. And you swap between them. If you want the full details I used with my Inc S pm me and I'll send full instructions

With AOSP ROM's you don't get the protocol option. And that is the issue. Or it was with my Inc S.

Also search whirlpool on the Optus/virgin thread. Heaps in there for apn's
