[Q] Want to change CID - HTC One X

Hello,
I have a HOX with stock ROM 1.29.401.12, and the bootloader never unlocked. I f I want to install the RUU carring the stock ROM 1.29.415.12, will it be able to change its CID if i edited the android-info.txt and i chage there the CID in the file ROM.ZIP located in the temperorary directory???

You can't as the ROM.zip will technically be tampered with and the bootloader will reject it. By all means give it a go, though
What is your CID anyway?

CID is HTC__001
Hello there and thanks for your reply,
My CID is HTC__001, and i want to revert it to HTC__J15...
I can edit the android-info.txt in the rom.zip created in the temporary folder...
all i know before doing this will the CID transform from 001 to J15??
the Hboots have the same versions 0.94 in the phone and the RUU file...
Best Regards,

Shouldn't this be 1.29.401.11 or have I missed something?

Hi,
For now it's not possible to change CID, until we get S-OFF.

For the time being, you still cannot change CID.
If its an Arabic ROM you want, you will be better off flashing a custom ROM based on the Arabic ROM. Link.

sorry...because of your bootloader still s-on..you can't flashing RUU through bootloader..
if i'm not wrong..you just wanna return the phone back to the stock RUU right..?
if that so..you must relock your bootloader first...then find the latest version of the right RUU that suitable with you CID Num of your phone...then flashing it with running RUU.exe
for relock your bootloader..your phone must be in FASTBOOT mode..then connecting it to your pc.. then type fastboot command (w/o quote) "fastboot oem lock"
or alternative way is you can downgrade you bootloader with using AAHK2 script first (off course the downgrade RUU file is must be suitable with your phone CID num too)..then flashing the latest version of the right RUU (suitable with your CID num too)..
sorry not sure about RUU with arabic language..
hope this help..
Hello,
Thank you very much for your answers.
Off course, the Bootloader was relocked before flashing.
I used also, a goldcard, in flashing this stock RUU.
I can flash RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_ARA_3.13.415.2_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_227469_signed.exe, but this stock ROM has 2 languages (English+ Arabic), I need also the French language too.
thanks

[Q] Can't figure out this firmware mess

I'm looking to flash the firmware update that Mike1986 has up in his thread. I bought my M8 from T-mobile and I am s-off and bootloader unlocked.
My question, do i need to mess with changing my cid or mid in order to flash the firmware.zip? I've been reading threads all day and can't find a clear answer and don't want to risk a brick.
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!
No. Just don't flash a cdma firmware. You only need to change cid/mid to receive ota though just S-off and supercid should allow you to get ota from any carrier/international base.

Awesome, Thanks. He warns in the first couple of lines that cids must match in order to flash it but i can't find a reference to what cid the firmware download pertains to other than it being of .401.x ruu variant (whatever that means).

.401 relates to cid HTC__001 and other european versions.
Your cid and mid must match one of those listed in the android-info.txt file in the firmware zip.
If it doesn't match one of those then you can edit that text file to include your cid and change the mid to that of your mid.
Alternatively you can change your cid to supercid of 11111111 (8x1) and then flash away.
Part 2 of this guide explain how to set your cid to supercid and will also explain how to find your info using getvar.

Yes you absolutely need to see what cid the firmware is for. I would make your cid super "11111111" to be safe. Check mid too. Being soff will allow you to flash anything and if it doesn't match, you can hard brick. If your not soff, and try to flash incorrect cid, it will just fail.
I just did this today.
I got super CID, which is easy.
Downloaded the firmware.zip, opened it with winwar and deleted recovery.img and edited the android-info and changed the MID to the one for Tmobile. (Adds like a 13 after the b or something)

You don't need stock recovery to run an RUU.
But you do need to change the device's CID and MID to match the RUU.

As I already stated, if you want to run the Euro RUU, you need to change your MID and your CID to the Euro CID, MID.
If either (or both) CID or MID do not match what the RUU is looking/intended for, the RUU will fail.

[Q] Can I edit RUU android-info.txt to 3.14.401.620?

Hi all
I am using the RUU RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe to revert to stock.
My current version according to the RUU 3.14.401.619. The RUU version is 3.14.401.31. So i get a message the RUU wont upgrade. See attached
Now the phone has no ROM and loops back to bootloader.

[HELP] Correct RUU for Brick M8

Help pls I need the correct ruu for this model (attached is the getvar all)
thanks!
mentioning @ckpv5 that helped me before please help again hehehe thanks! and GODBLESS
your security is off and you have super CCID you can install any RRU almost. change CCID and MID to what ever you want and download one RRU from any thread.
How many M8 that you have ? You have a phone shop ?
With current CID/MID ... you can install RUU :
1. T-MOB 6.20.531.5 RUU or
2. Developer Edition 6.12.1540.4 RUU
but you need to fastboot flash its firmware zip first before you run RUU
If you don't use the device is US, it's best to change MID to EU MID then install 6.12.401.4 RUU

hi @ckpv5 I just helping some of my friends in facebook that bricked their device, so here's is the new getvar all we flash the firmware yesterday 6.12.401.4 then we decided to flash custom rom now wifi doesnt work, how can I change the mid then? BTW thanks for your always support may GOD bless you
That's most probably incomplete firmware that you installed because I can see the radio is old.
You need full firmware install or if modded one that remove boot & recovery only.
Check general section on how to change MID if you want to properly do it.
(Can't link now as I'm on mobile)

ok since we update the firm all we need to do now is to change mid to europe then flash the ruu?
MID change first then firmware then RUU.
You already have TWRP installed, right ? I can see you're using outdated TWRP 2.7.x.x
Boot to TWRP, select Mount - System
Open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder, then run command
adb shell
change MID code
no need command "su"
Code, get it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
Once done select reboot -bootloader
install 6.12.401.4 firmware - you can get the full signed firmware from my backup thread post #5
then install RUU - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
(you can try to install RUU without firmware flashed first .. if I'm not wrong this RUU zip doesn't require MM firmware been installed)
