Help pls I need the correct ruu for this model (attached is the getvar all)
thanks!
mentioning @ckpv5 that helped me before please help again hehehe thanks! and GODBLESS
your security is off and you have super CCID you can install any RRU almost. change CCID and MID to what ever you want and download one RRU from any thread.
How many M8 that you have ? You have a phone shop ?
With current CID/MID ... you can install RUU :
1. T-MOB 6.20.531.5 RUU or
2. Developer Edition 6.12.1540.4 RUU
but you need to fastboot flash its firmware zip first before you run RUU
If you don't use the device is US, it's best to change MID to EU MID then install 6.12.401.4 RUU

hi @ckpv5 I just helping some of my friends in facebook that bricked their device, so here's is the new getvar all we flash the firmware yesterday 6.12.401.4 then we decided to flash custom rom now wifi doesnt work, how can I change the mid then? BTW thanks for your always support may GOD bless you
That's most probably incomplete firmware that you installed because I can see the radio is old.
You need full firmware install or if modded one that remove boot & recovery only.
Check general section on how to change MID if you want to properly do it.
(Can't link now as I'm on mobile)

ok since we update the firm all we need to do now is to change mid to europe then flash the ruu?
MID change first then firmware then RUU.
You already have TWRP installed, right ? I can see you're using outdated TWRP 2.7.x.x
Boot to TWRP, select Mount - System
Open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder, then run command
adb shell
change MID code
no need command "su"
Code, get it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
Once done select reboot -bootloader
install 6.12.401.4 firmware - you can get the full signed firmware from my backup thread post #5
then install RUU - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
(you can try to install RUU without firmware flashed first .. if I'm not wrong this RUU zip doesn't require MM firmware been installed)

Okay here's the thing i'm currently on
Hboot 0.43 version
Rom Viper 2.7.1
S off , cid 0_44
So after alot of readings on the forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604439
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003&highlight=root+jb
Okay been reading those 2 but i can't seem to move in the correct direction well mostly my fault so here's what i want to do
update to jb and then flash arhd v15
Can anyone point me in the right direction as in step by step because its all really jumbled up to me , simply put i don't know where to start . So please xda community point me in the right direction step by steps what should i do and if i need to download certain things tell me which i should download as well .
Also i download a RUU which is 1.26.707.4 htc asia i downloaded that ruu because JBFWflasher told me that was my ruu so please help me
Well if you're S-OFF then just go to fastboot and type in cmd 'fastboot oem writecid 11111111' to give yourself superCID.
Then afterwards, download the latest firmware off the firmware thread in development section and flash it.
I swear, the instructions are located almost everywhere.
Then flash your ROM.
I'm aware that its everywhere as i said above i just don't know where to start everyone has a way of doing it so i got lost thank you sincerely for answering me but cid 0_44 can be changed into super cid? i checked in JBFWflasher and under option 4 there is a option there which says change to super cid 111111 but it says i need to be s-off to do so and i'm s on

So you're not S-OFF like you stated in the original post?
---------- Post added at 08:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:38 PM ----------
Okay go here:
Download the latest version of ARHD, extract the boot.img file into fastboot folder.
Then:
[26.11.2012] Jelly Bean firmware collection for different Carriers ID (CID)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Download the firmware.zip with hboot 1.36, it's listed under: x.xx.707.x - Asia WWE (World Wide English)
Then, copy it to your fastboot folder.
Then make sure you nanodroid backup everything.
Then enter fastboot.
Type: 'fastboot oem lock' to relock your bootloader
Type: 'fastboot oem rebootRUU' to reboot to a place where you can flash the new firmware
Type: 'fastboot flash zip firmware.zip' to flash the new firmware onto your phone, it might take a couple of tries!
After finished, if it didn't return to bootloader screen, type: 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
Re-unlock bootloader using 'fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin' (Make sure you have the file)
Flash the boot.img file
Go to recovery and flash the ROM
Or you could use the JB FW Easy Flasher to make it simpler
will try it now and post back my results

Hi , well everything went well halfway i meet with some hiccups which i could handle myself but thank's again to you without your direction's i would not know where to start you have my thanks =)

Hi,
I did the full conversion to GPE but decided to go back to Stock Sense and followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735235
The status of my phone is now S-Off
Software number: 3.28.401.7
CW: M8_UL_K44_SENSE60 HTC_Nordic_News/115684
From bootloadern:
Software status: Official
LOCKED
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF
CID-HTC__Y13
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.21.21331147A1.19_2G
OS-3.26.401.7
As You see Im on the Nordic CID but what I have heard is that they have jumped up to 3.28.401.9 but In not able to get it downloaded.
Could the problem be that Im on wrong version in relation to the CID?
Best Regards
Your MID and everything is right?
Also you can just download the OTA file and do the OTA manually. OTA ZIP COLLECTION
I found while doing conversions that I had to manually do the OTA the first time before it does so automatically. I don't know if maybe it's something similar to your issue. Did you go straight to 3.28.401.7 or did you go back to 2.22.401.x and then do the OTA to 3.28? I had to manually install the OTA and flash the firmware twice in before it did the OTA automatically like it's supposed. That was when converting from International to Dev Edition.

Hi, Thanks for your answer. Yes maybe I need to apply the latest OTA manually, but then I have to wait for another OTA to get sure it will update automatically?
My MID is: 0P6B10000
EDIT: I cant find an OTA that takes me from 3.28.401.7 > 3.28.401.9 ?

Right, I saw now it's 3.28.401.6 > 3.28.401.9 sorry I didn't notice that when I linked.
MID is right, maybe change CID to HTC__001 or Supercid should get it then.
Yes unfortunately you'll probably have to wait for Lollipop to see if it updates right but you could also just downgrade the firmware to 2.22, restore a 2.22 nandroid and do the OTA's manually from there, IF you want...
Thanks!
Do you have a link to a good guide for howto flash a 2.22 rom?

Don't know about the guides, must be somewhere in the M8 Forums. It's easy enough though(seeing as you already converted to GPE before).
1) Grab the OTA.zip file for a 2.22.401.x version, extract the firmware.zip from the file.
2) Place firmware.zip file in adb folder, open a command prompt/terminal in adb folder path.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices - just to make sure it's connected
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip <<<Yes TWICE just in case.
fastboot reboot-bootloader
3) flash a custom recovery fastboot flash recovery custom_recovery_name.img of course.
4) Download the nandroid(Or do this first and place on sd card already) and restore from within the custom recovery. nandroid will be for same version as firmware that you flashed for example, 2.22.401.5
5) Restart the phone and let the OTA's proceed as normal.
If you want you can even take it back even further if you want in case you need to "upgrade" manually and/or flash the firmware. I don't think it'll be a problem though as you already "did" that, OTA's Should come automatically. Just make sure you have the stock recovery flashed back else the OTA's won't install.

hi all
my friend tried to update his phone, and all he's got is:
the phone can't boot into recovery. stuck on "entering recovery"
insert coin rom (v 3.0.8) works fine, except the play store!
i tried to flash a new recovery with no success. finally i flash a twrp by captain throwback version 2.8.0.6, and wow it works!
now, i'm wanna to update his M8 to least android version.
fastboot getvar all:
m8_ul
s-on
CID: HTC__K18
MID: 0P6B10000
HBOOT: 3.16.0.0000
version main: empty
settings >> about >> software information:
android version 4.4.2
sense 6.0
InsertCoin version 3.0.8
build number 1.54.401.10
can i simply flash 4.16.401.10 firmware.zip, least TWRP version, ARHD 34.0 (don't worry i don't forget the boot.img )
or
it's better to return to stock and perform software updates?
by the way,
the build number in settings, is the current firmware.zip that installed? or the firmware that the rom based on??
thank's
i read somewhere that its safer to flash firmwares in row, start at 1.54.401.10 then the others in the x.xx.401.xx line
you can also try simply to flash the latest RUU. maybe you get some wifi errors.
i was on 3.xx.401 firmware and installed the 4.x DEV RUU without any errors
yeah the build number in settings shows the rom base.
ok, thanks

so, i cannot know the exact firmware he has..
i'm asked that because the safest way to update is going back to stock. i found only 1.54.401.5 NAND Backups.
i'm afraid to flash the wrong nand backup..
how can i know which firmware he has?

If you want to go the save way Try the 1.54.401.x RUU.exe from the thread. Then you should be fine to apply the otas
Dont be to afraid from flashing wrong files in most cases your phone wont get bricked it just dont boot up

Version main is empty because of the older recovery. Try to flash TWRP 2.8.4.0 again.
You can't flash the firmware zip without being S-Off. Sunshine is the only way to do it now, and it costs $25 (totally worth it). Or you could return to stock and take the OTAs. (stock ROM and recovery plus unmodified system partition)
The build number in settings is in fact the ROM base, and not the current firmware version.

first thanks for your help!
i will try this tomorrow .
on my m8 I bought sunshine (totally worth it) agree
but before i have s-off i'm flashed new firmware.zip (you have to relock your bootloader)
s-off lets you to flash firmware.zip without Signature and without relock

Another part of the problem is that HTC updates incrementally. You can't just leap frog from 4.4.2 to 5.0.1.
Once you get S-Off, you can flash a firmware zip from this thread. @Sneakyghost makes his firmware packages so that you don't have to flash each update one at a time. You can just jump to the newest.
But.....from the readout on the earlier post, it is WWE and there is an RUU for that. It is signed, so it should work. It will only get you to 4.4.4. (3.28.401.9 is the newest on this thread). You could try to flash the Lolly firmware after you have updated to this.
Hi I have T mobile HTC one m8 which is running on firmware 4.20.531.5 .
Firmware 6.20.531.5 is out for T-mob so I donloaded RUU and before that RELOCKED the bootloader.
On fastboot screen it says RELOCKED.
So I went ahead with RUU installation ( downloaded from htc support website) and ran it.
I get error[155} unknown error with my phone displaying htc logo in white.
This error is due to bootloader not locked but mine is relocked.
I am pretty sure the RUU is correct and I can just go to bootloader screen only.
what should I do now?
Please help.

This is a common problem for folks trying to go from LP to MM by RUU.
You'll need to find or extract the 6.20.531.5 firmware.zip, and flash it in fastboot RUU mode. Then the RUU should install properly.
Are you unable to get OTAs? If the RUU doesn't work, you can just keep updating the phone through OTAs. The function is found in Settings > About > Software Updates.

How could I extract this firmware from exe file ? or do I have to find signed zip of this firmware ?
And should I flash it in adb by fastboot flash firmware firmware.zip ?
use this method to flash firmware T-Mobile first
download FW here
copy FW to folder adb fastboot
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip **frimware name.zip**
fastboot flash zip **frimware name.zip** - yes, 2 times
fastboot reboot-bootloader
atter that, you can flash RUU.exe

If you are s-on, it needs to be signed in order to flash it.
When you run the exe, it will make a ROM.zip in the WIndows temp folder, which is a zip version of the full RUU. You can extract firmware.zip from ROM.zip, but I don't know if its signed anymore after you extract it that way.

If updating to MM from LP (or KK for that matter) you need to first flash the MM firmware with the same number as the RUU. Its a peculiarity with US Marshmallow RUUs.
Hi guys,
I am selling my HTC 10 and for that reason I want to go back to 100% stock. I just wanted to check my train of thought with you before I do this, just to make sure everything goes smoothly.
I am currently S-OFF/UNLOCKED and flashed the latest international firmware / LeeDroid (Supercid and 1.95.401.3 firmware). The CID of my phone is HTC__039, so unfortunately there is no RUU available. I'm assuming I need to go back to my original firmware (x.xx.710.x), so I'd need to extract a firmware.zip from an OTA since it's not available for download in the Google spreadsheet.
I'm assuming I need to do the following steps in order:
Download an OTA file and extract firmware.zip (in my case 1.53.710.6 -> 1.80.710.1 (by @morgy59) from this thread)
Write the original CID (HTC__039) instead of supercid in download mode
Code:
htc_fastboot oem writecid HTC__039
Flash the x.xx.710.x firmware
Restore the backup of my stock system and boot that I created before flashing a custom rom
Flash the stock recovery for x.xx.710.x
Is this enough for the new owner to receive OTA updates? Or would it be easier to complete debrand my phone (link)? Would I need to relock my bootloader as well? What do you guys recommend?
Cheers!
