[SOLVED]
I just flashed the stock RUU and everything seems to work
[/SOLVED]
Hi all,
In short, whenever I use the sound speaker to play any sound, it freezes the phone for several seconds, then it restarts.
This occurs for any application/settings (e.g. ringtones, stock apps, etc).
However, this never happens when I use headphones. When I unplug the headphones whilst the phone plays sound, the sound speaker works.
Does anyone have this problem and has the solution for it?
Phone specs: (Basically it's rooted and everything else stock)
Rooted: with htcdev
RUU: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Optus_AU_1.28.980.10_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_258004
Kernel: 2.6.39.4
I have tried doing nandroid backup, clearing cache, factory reset, wipe data. None avails.
Thank you in advance
EDIT: I did the *#*#3424#*#* diagnostic test, and did the sound test. It still reboots the phone when testing the sound speaker.

This happened all of a sudden, and I'm really not sure why. The camera is just a black screen, which can only be minimised by pressing the home button. The headphone jack recognises nothing.
At first I thought it was the ROM (LeeDroid 2.2f), so I wiped the data/cache/dalvik cache and reverted to Pinky's 1.8. I've also tried AuraxTSense 8.1.4 with no luck. All ROMs work perfectly fine except this issue.
After looking it up, everyone seems to jump at the radios. I flash radios by picking the zip file whilst in recovery (clockwork), installing, rebooting and having it write the image, not touching my phone while it boots up, and having it show the new flashed radio in the options/bootloader sections.
I have tried the specific radios linked to in the OP of each of the ROMs, and I have tried the latest ones. I've been through about 5 at least today on multiple ROMs, with no luck.
I really want my camera and headphone jack back. Please help.
Try going back to stock rom. If that doesn't solve it, then I think you have a hardware problem.
I'm currently trying a rooted version of 2.10.405.2 including radio from this thread. Is that sufficient testing of going back to stock (because my backup software requires root) or does it have to be RUU?
Edit: That rooted stock ROM has the same issue -_- will try RUU.
Edit 2: The flash LED no longer works either. For example the torch application.
The camera app is still just a black screen. No menu, no way to quit except terminating the process.
The headphone socket is still dead. The halfway-in trick doesn't work either.
These parts are all very close to each other, so I'm leaning towards hardware. However the phone can still make/receive calls, messages, wifi, 3G, etc... everything apart from camera, rear LED and headphones.
This seems to happen a lot according to Google. Will think twice about getting another HTC phone.
Hi I have some strange problem after rooting my htc desire. My ringer volume becomes zero as soon as I get calls from Unknown number(ringer becomes zero at start of call automatically). Any solution? I tried going back to stock rom but no luck. Is there any way I can complete wipe stock rom and get new one. I am running 2.2 software version 2.12.110.4 and baseband32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27. I tried to flash with
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed
but it didnt work. Any help please, any program etc its annoying.
Hi,
I recently flashed AOSB ROM 1.3.4
After flashing, I did the usual setup and then everything was working fine.(Calls/SMS/WiFi etc.)
After usage for around 2 hours, I rebooted the phone & from then on I am not able to hear any audio during calls.
I flashed the ROM again & the same problem persists.
I have already tried below approaches.
1. After flashing & setup, everything works fine until first reboot. After which the problem persists.
2. I also tried factory reset & still it is the same. No Audio during calls after a reboot (after setup).
3. I tried with other ROM's like paranoid, slimkat etc. I am facing same problem with these as well.
Please suggest any fix.
Thanks,
Ramu
Did you do hard reset before & after instal??
Or try *#0*# (if you have samsung based ROM). Its service menu and try retriever
Yes. I did a hard reset before flashing.
I've been having this issue with losing sound intermittently. This happens regardless of the hardware slider being on all notifications, priority or silent mode. Only after rebooting the device does sound start working again. I've wiped dalvik cache as well.
I'm using oxygen 3.1.2 (rooted).
Anyone have any suggestions?
I suggest a factory reset. Do you use any sound mod? That could be the problem. Also, sound is improved in the OOS 3.2 version, so you should flash that.

make sure to set the option as under:
SoundAbout service=on-with status

wait ,you flashed custom rom and then you rebooted you were back to stock rom?
is that correct?
what recovery you are using. Stock or custom recovery?
There might be a hardware problem with the headphone jack. I use it in my car and there's always problems with how the cable sits in the jack that do not occur with my girlfriend's phone.
