I've been having this issue with losing sound intermittently. This happens regardless of the hardware slider being on all notifications, priority or silent mode. Only after rebooting the device does sound start working again. I've wiped dalvik cache as well.
I'm using oxygen 3.1.2 (rooted).
Anyone have any suggestions?
I suggest a factory reset. Do you use any sound mod? That could be the problem. Also, sound is improved in the OOS 3.2 version, so you should flash that.

hey anyone with the most recent DC rom have problems with the camera? sometimes it will fail to start, like it will turn on than power off the app. To fix it either power cycle the phone or use a task manager and end all.
I did then I wiped and reflashed and it was gone.
damn, not really wanting to wipe. but so you just wiped the rom form phone, anythin with dalvik cache or anything? than just flashed the rom again?
Hi all,
every time when I start or restart (normal or hot) my DHD the sound profile will be set to 'normal' independent from the selected sound profile before. I select the 'just vibrate' sound profile, shut down and restart or just restart my DHD again. At the beginning the previous selected sound profile is active but suddenly it changes to 'normal' again.
The day before yesterday I have flashed LeeDroid 5.1.1. Thus I assume the issue has to do with LeeDroid (not sure if this is really the case). I was not able to find anything in the settings and don't have an app installed which could do that. Furthermore I was not able to find anything regarding this topic via Google or forum searches.
Maybe some of you have or had the same issue and know how to fix it?
Many thanks in advance.

Did you clear cache and dalvik cache before flashing? and did you fully wipe data?
It shouldn't be happening because the rom i'm on (sense 3.5), it doesn't give that sort of issue and i don't think leedroid should give you any issue like that since it is one of those old roms which are bug free...try what i told you to do and if it still gives you problem then your best bet is to flash a new rom...
Thanks for your reply.
I have flashed LeeDroid 5.1.0 via Rom Manager and selected the options for clearing cache and dalvik cache. After that I flashed the 5.1.1 patch to solve the 'no signal' issue (without wiping again). Which data do I have to wipe fully? I have also tried to use the wipe/factory reset functionality in the recovery mode but without flashing the ROM again (I have restored the created backup of LeeDroid - maybe that's what I shouldn't do?).
I'll give it another try with full data wipe before.
[SOLVED]
I just flashed the stock RUU and everything seems to work

Hi all,
In short, whenever I use the sound speaker to play any sound, it freezes the phone for several seconds, then it restarts.
This occurs for any application/settings (e.g. ringtones, stock apps, etc).
However, this never happens when I use headphones. When I unplug the headphones whilst the phone plays sound, the sound speaker works.
Does anyone have this problem and has the solution for it?
Phone specs: (Basically it's rooted and everything else stock)
Rooted: with htcdev
RUU: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Optus_AU_1.28.980.10_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_258004
Kernel: 2.6.39.4
I have tried doing nandroid backup, clearing cache, factory reset, wipe data. None avails.
Thank you in advance
EDIT: I did the *#*#3424#*#* diagnostic test, and did the sound test. It still reboots the phone when testing the sound speaker.
All of a sudden, i can't hear anything out of the earpiece and the mic on my phone doesn't work either. If I switch to speakerphone, everything works fine. I tried rebooting, removing battery, etc. but still the problem persists. I even tried updating my ROM to the latest CM nightly build (wiped the dalvik cache, then flashed). No luck. Has anyone else seen this happen? Maybe it's a hardware problem, but it sure seems odd that both the mic and earpiece stopped working when it's not on speakerphone...
Thanks
UPDATE: I wiped my phone (factory reset) and installed the latest CM nightly - and it's working fine. Would be great to know what happened to my to my old build...
Recently I got a replacement and my notification sounds only work if music is playing.
When trying to select the notification tone or adjust the volume, dead silent. I've cleared the cache partition twice, factory reset through settings, compete data wipe through recovery mode. Verizon had me do a general settings reset after I told them I did all that, for some reason.
I was hoping the recent update would resolve it, but no luck.
While it had been nice appearing to be aloof by not responding to messages quickly (due to not knowing I got them) now it's starting to get frustrating.
Thanks.
you have to download the Official rom and flash it through Odin , the official rom has to have 4 files , and it better to have a pit for your problem ,
if that didnt work either , go to a customer services
