Help with rooting ang upgrading smit560a(aka enso zenpad) - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Don't laugh too hard...yes, I own a zenpad. Runs android 1.5. Looking to root and upgrade it to newer version. Tried universal androot...not quite so universal. Could not root. Z4root would not even install. Can anyone provide assistance? Or should I just toss it into the trash? Never rooted or upgraded before, so the simpler the instructions, the better. BTW...USB port is dummy port...charges only. Anything I do must use the SD card. Help?!

[Q] Samsung Acclaim...rooted?

I rooted my Acclaim successfully, according to SuperOneClick...but when I check the phone ("su" in Android Terminal Emulator) and try to use Titanium Backup, I have no root access. I have searched other posts, and have seen people ask about this issue, but have not found any suggested answers or remedies as of yet. If anyone has any comments or thoughts as to possibly help me root my phone, I would greatly appreciate it!
I was having the same issues with Moto Droid after the lastest update. I had to install the Android SDK kit and Java SE. Once installed, run the Android SDK and keep it open when running superoneclick. that seemed to do the trick for me.
not working for me none of the methods seem to work for me so far

[Q] my epic 2.2.1 won't root! help plz!

It just won't root....I've tried the old version and newest version of z4root and nothing ...I dine have a PC atm so any solutions using a PC is not an option!
..plaza help.
Z4root was patched in 2.2.2 (EC05). You're going to have to use a pc, whether it's a friends or even one in a library.
think they'll ever update it to work with 2.2.2?
No. The exploit z4root used was patched so it would have to be a whole new root method which doesn't make sense to search for when froyo is outdated.

In order to root it you have to have the drivers installed so try installing the drivers on another pc or try to figure the problem. If you just want it rooted and nothing more (Custom ROM, Recovery, or Kernel), then use Bi4nary's root. If you want a custom ROM, Recovery, or Kernel, then you have to 'Unbrick' and I would suggest you use hereric's method. Both of them work perfectly

SO I couldn't just root with something easy like superoneclick then Just download TWRP from goo manager and flash roms through that? I HAVE to do that long complicated guide? I definetly am too noob to follow that, I can't even open Bc2appsetup for some reason let alone the rest of it!
Superoneclick will work to root this phone. As others have experienced, it takes one shot or multiple tries to get it rooted. IRC, I had to also install the Android SDK package before it got rooted.
BUT, if you just bought that phone as used it might be already rooted so check that first before you waste your time.

Question about rooting LG G2 (Sprint) and OTA Updates.

Good afternoon guys,
I have a few set of questions and I will be glad if someone is able to kindly help me out. Please keep in mind that I am not an android expert as far as rooting, custom roms, etc... So I ask for patience from you guys!
Now... into the questions. I got my LG G2 2 weeks ago from Sprint. Great solid phone with killer specs. I previously had a Galaxy Epic 4G Touch. I was looking into rooting my LG G2 phone. However, somewhere in an article online, I read that, if I were to root my LG, I would no longer receive OTA software updates... Like an updated android version for example.. Is that true? I dont care about loosing root after updating. I just dont want to root my phone, receive an OTA update and then mess up my phone.. So thats my first question.
Next... I've done quite a few research online on how to root the G2 from sprint. What i am currently having issues with is finding the drivers. I know I must install them prior to attempting anything else. I read that I could use the Tmobile version drivers even though I am on sprint. But no luck finding those either. Could someone provide me with a link to download the drivers? Thanks! (Windows 8)
And last... I've seen many methods on rooting this device, that at the end, was confused on which one to use. Soo.. could someone share a link of a working method to root the LG G2 from Sprint (Android 4.4.2)
Thank you guys and I will be very grateful for any help. :good:
Any change of the android operating system with ota can fail. They are looking it seems note for any excuse to break the phone if you do anything. Best idea is to make sure you can unroot, then take ota.
Best way to root is go with ioroot25. I believe it is in lg g2 general.

Thank you for your reply.
How would I unroot my G2? Would I use ioroot25? Or is there some type of app that I would have to download? Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Is it possible to unroot with SuperSU ones is installed on your phone after a sucessful root?
Thanks.! :good:
SuperSU can unroot (and temp unroot, though anybodies guess if it'll survive an OTA). There's several other temp unrooters, I often use Hide My Root (try to get some perspective on what the device *actually* works like). Otherwise, removing su, supersu, busybox (if installed) and whatever else until /system looks unmodified works. If there's custom recovery, you (as well as I) probably need to flash that back to stock as well. Or.. quite likely there will be a version around to flash without taking the actual OTA update if there isn't already (haven't checked the other thread). That'll likely be the easiest rather than bother with redoing the work to fix it up again.
Nothing is risk-free of course, but unrooted and flashed back to stock recovery it should be at least fairly unlikely to hurt anything. Of course that's often the stuff I mess up.

TracFone ALCATEL A564C Rooting - Is it impossible?

Hello,
I have a TracFone ALCATEL A564C. It's Android 4.4.2 and the kernel is 3.4.0. I have searched tirelessly for a way to root this phone, but to no avail. I've tried several one-click roots as well as a "manual" root method using the Android SDK and ADB. I find it extremely difficult to believe that it's impossible to root this phone. Has anybody, anyone, found some way to root the device? Would someone be willing to look into crafting a root solution?
Thank you.
Hope you've got 'er done.
Howdy,
I've got the same problem. It looks like you've tried more than I and I'm hoping you have since found a way.
My main reason to root is to use my phone to tether the car radio ... Also android 4.4.
I've found a post that says "WiFi tether router" from the playstore does work but it requires root.
Thanks for sharing what you've learned.
Dr Dan
Try King Root, the download is at KingRoot.net. I have the phone but never bothered doing it as I don't have money to get a new one or fix it if it gets bricked or soft bricked.
