Hi,
I have a chance to swap my sensation for my wife's one X which will be arriving in the next few days. It will be a UK Vodafone branded One X.
I do not want all the carrier rubbish, I know I could flash ARHD (which I currently use on my sensation and love) but due to some ridiculous rules coming into force at work we will only be allowed to use unrooted phones on official roms.
Is there anyway I can flash the HTC rom "RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed.exe" so I do not have all the vodafone rescue apps and rubbish like that.
Thanks Andi

Unfortunately not. Without root, you are stuck with the official vodafone rom and rely on vodafone for updates. Until s-off (if this ever happens) super cid will not be possible so permanant debranding is also a no go.
Thanks for the reply, I guess it is worth flashing arhd then and will worry about the rules when I am caught up with )
In my eyes mikes rom's are more secure as they have less rubbish (i will practice saying that)
Thanks

Hello all,
I'm new to both the forum and Android so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.
I have a HTC Desire Z (Vision) on Vodafone in the UK. Before I consider rooting the device (if I did it would only be to allow me a full backup option) I wondered if anybody knows where I can get the stock unrooted Vodafone rom so that it can be returned to it's original state if need-be?
From what I have been told (and please correct me if I'm wrong), once the device is rooted, a new unmolested rom is required to unroot the device. I have looked high and low on the net but can't find the Vodafone ROM for the Z (The HD and the Desire seem to be findable but not the Z!!).
Thanks ever so much for your help,
Dav
i am also interested in the stock vodafone rom
couldn t find it in the web
and to make a backup from my installed stock rom i need root,
which a only get if i downgrade my rom to a stock without branding .....
It will be practically impossible to get from another User because that stock ROM will only be in the hands of the manufacturers/carriers. This is because users can't NANDroid backup the same way us rooted users do. Anyways, I don't see the manufacturers releasing them any time soon..
hmm .. that means that there is no chance restoring the branded rom for warrenty
(after rooting the device) ???
Is there a vodafone ROM? I have vodafone branded. but there's no sign of any difference between this and the stock HTC ROM.
i have a vodafone boot animation...
and the version number is different from the original htc desire z rom..
Hi everyone,
So I'm here with my S-Offed HTC Desire wondering if someone has or know where to find original ROMs from swiss provider Swisscom.
Cause I'm very happy with my RCMix ROM but I was thinking of the day I would try to sell it and just thought that if I reinstalled an official RUU from HTC, the new owner would have troubles when an OTA update would arrive, because it requires a goldcard and the best would be to have a Swisscom ROM so the phone would run troubleless (even it would remain on poor 2.2 ).
BTW, if the phone remains S-Offed, do we really need a Goldcard, because if it works I could just put an official RUU, remove alpharev's boot screen and it would be ok, OTA updates without troubles (I remember that I tryed once to update when I just changed to official RUU from Swisscom's one and without a Goldcard the phone ran crazy haha).
Thanks
P.S. : If a swisscom's customer comes down here and has tried several Radios, could he or she tell which one seemed to work well with swisscom's network ? I didn't have time to try it seriously

Hei,
Swisscom's ruu is the same as Vodafone UK.
So you can use the following ruu : RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28 U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed.exe
Bye,
TS
A huge thanks

BTW how did you find the information? I did some searches but didn't find anything ... Does this Rom come with some vodaphone apps?
I hope this thread can help other Swisscom customers

Because when I got my HTC Desire, there were several vodafone applications that could not be removed.
But, many people complained about that and now the rom is clean.
Vodafone replaced my unbranded One x for a branded One x when it went it for repair (screen had stopped responding)
I have a few questions
1. Due to my new cid being 'VODAP001' I believe I won't be able to flash Jelly Bean/Sense roms for now? will this always be the case?
2. If I can is there any video tutorials?

1. Yes, for the time being you have to wait for JB update.
1a. Hopefully, it won't last forever.
Welcome to the club, mate.
Sick of vodafone doing this, they did it with the sensation/desire HD as well but thankfully we had S-OFF on those two.
i have a htc one 801e (unlocked and original :good version and comes in chinese language , is possible to flash with this rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348502
will work for 801s and 801n version??
thanks.
check this website:
it might help you: http://htconeroot.com/category/htc-one-custom-roms/
You'll probably have to change your CID since you're unlocked and S-OFF but it seems possible as long as it's another GSM ROM.
But you're better off asking in the general HTC One forum, not in the Verizon HTC One forum, as ours is a special variant.

OK thanks.
Adding to the mix a bit... once you unlock get S-off and ger supercid... the verizon branded phone could get a radio flashed of other carrier with the available frequency and a rom with its respective sim card to go to other carrier like say cricket? but it kind of seem to easy to me and im kind of confused in that matter.
i am planning on buying an unlocked (can be used with any sim card) vodafone m8 (when the phone turns on or off, vodafone logo appears)
all i want to ask is can i flash international m8`s roms on it? coz otherwise i wont go for it

Yes with s-off you can easily convert it to Developer Edition - International or GPe

thanks. that was the only thing i had in mind that whether or not the international roms are compatible with it. coz verizon and AT&t m8 have separate development forums on xda

thats because the americans cant agree to use the same radio frequencies for their networks, so companies need to make different models for each carrier.
i bought myself an used phone on o2, s-off'd it, changed the cid to GOOGL01 and flashed the GPE conversion RUU. HTC__001 is the sim free cid if you want to flash a sense RUU to completely unbrand your device

You'll be good with international based ROMs. You wouldn't be good with others. The O2 M8 is International WWE. You may have to update your firmware though, to run the latest ROMs, otherwise your wifi will not work.
