Vodafone replaced my unbranded One x for a branded One x when it went it for repair (screen had stopped responding)
I have a few questions
1. Due to my new cid being 'VODAP001' I believe I won't be able to flash Jelly Bean/Sense roms for now? will this always be the case?
2. If I can is there any video tutorials?

1. Yes, for the time being you have to wait for JB update.
1a. Hopefully, it won't last forever.
Welcome to the club, mate.
Sick of vodafone doing this, they did it with the sensation/desire HD as well but thankfully we had S-OFF on those two.

hi all
here goes my first post have desire hd from 3 mobile in november am looking to root phone have read the forum guides just one question how do i know if my phone is branded or unbranded any help would be great full.have got ginger bread installed atm did it through ruu on these forums.
thanks clembo
Download from the market cid getter it will show you what cid do you have. Unbranded HTC_001 3 uk H3G_001
if you installed that gingerbread from here, you are now unbranded.
the previously three branded phone that i have, had a three boot screen when first switched on that took forever to load. it had my3, planet3, bejeweled demo and a few other three added apps that couldn't be removed. if you didn't see any of that crap before the GB update... you was also unbranded then
hi thanks for the replys @ dhd1802 when i ordered the phone from three they said it would come straight from them manufacturer i think.
@ kluzik1 thanks will try that
thanks clembo
Hi,
I have a chance to swap my sensation for my wife's one X which will be arriving in the next few days. It will be a UK Vodafone branded One X.
I do not want all the carrier rubbish, I know I could flash ARHD (which I currently use on my sensation and love) but due to some ridiculous rules coming into force at work we will only be allowed to use unrooted phones on official roms.
Is there anyway I can flash the HTC rom "RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed.exe" so I do not have all the vodafone rescue apps and rubbish like that.
Thanks Andi

Unfortunately not. Without root, you are stuck with the official vodafone rom and rely on vodafone for updates. Until s-off (if this ever happens) super cid will not be possible so permanant debranding is also a no go.
Thanks for the reply, I guess it is worth flashing arhd then and will worry about the rules when I am caught up with )
In my eyes mikes rom's are more secure as they have less rubbish (i will practice saying that)
Thanks

you both might want to check this thread out regarding the jb update - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927048
Thanks I will keep a watch out on that
I was replacing my broken One X on Wednesday via a phone call to 3 network and after placing the order for the new phone, I then asked the advisor when HOX users could expect the Jelly Bean update for three network users, I was told that they're "still working on it and we can hope for it to be released before the end of the first quarter of next year" :crying::crying:
Oh Great see I have tried doing a firmware update but it just fails I have 001 but still it doesnt like it

It wouldn't as you need to have the HTC__001 CID (just using as an example). And we have H3G__001, so the firmware isn't compatible with our handsets
We'll have to wait for official OTA to be pushed by Three, before we can even think about trying JB or JB ROMS.
i ahve a htc one x that came from Tmobile UK, it has a cid of T-MOB005. is it possible for me to change the cid to HTC__001, and make it take the OTA update ?

Not currently...You need an S-OFF device to change CID, which is not yet possible for the tegra version. You'll have to wait for the T-Mobile JB update to be pushed to your handset.
Only a lucky "few" received devices with factory ship S-OFF
Hi,
I have a HTC One X that is locked from Roger's before and got it unlocked to be used in Asia(Philippines) , after finding out that local HTC One X/X+ got an update to 4.2.2 and Sense 5, I researched and found out that The carriers and HTC Canada has stopped the device from getting any new updates . Then I tried going to HTCDev and found out that there are manual update files for 4.2.2
Questions:
- Is it safe for me to download and install those files to my phone? (got a little phobia when it comes to this as I have hard bricked a phone before)
- If the answer for the first question is yes. Am I using the right region since I am in the philippines?
- What happens if I get the other regions?
Thanks In Advance!

wrong device thread, you're wanting to go with the one xl/at&t one x forums
I can get a branded HTC One M8 get through my provider Vodafone Netherlands.
Now I wonder is there much delay between the updates of Vodafone Branded and WW International M8.
In the past it took them about a extra month to update my HTC hd2 , maybe they're faster nowadays but when in doubth just go for unbranded ( maybe thorougth typhone?)

if you can get for free by Vodafone most of the times you can get it also by typhone (and others) even if you have to pay a bit for it I would do it.
Just my 2 cents ?
Vodafone in the UK have been very quick at updates in my experience.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
I will see. Maybe i can change my CID and MID and install stock International 401.
Hi Justine,
Wondering if you changed CID or somehow managed to get S-Off ?
I just got my ne M8 Vodafone NL and unlocked the bootloader.
Tried to s-off with firewater but it's a no-go.
