Installation Instructions:
Before flashing do a DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE
Flash the ROM
Then do a DARKSIDE.CACHE.WIPE before rebooting.
After the first boot, let it sit for a couple minutes.
*The UVLC8 ICS radio is required.*
There are some reports of Touch Recovery causing problems. This is not 100% confirmed, but if you have any problems try non-touch cwm.
This is a base ROM. It is very similar to CM9, which it is based off of. As development continues I expect it to differ significantly. When Samsung releases the source for the T989 I will begin building the ROM, but until then it will be a base ROM.

If you experience call echo or a "robot voice" try the following: flash the LC8 radio first, followed by Super wipe, Flash ROM, Re-Flash radio again, Then..flash the darkside cache-wipe and boot up. (Thank you Docmjldds)
Thanks for brewing a new rom, the more the merrier, will give it a shot!

It is a .zip you flash before the ROM, it wipes data, cache, etc, but is better than doing it from the recovery. It's not necessary, I just think it is better.

darkside.cache.wipe.zip is also really cool ia use it all the time. its great it wipes cache, dalvik, and fixes permissions. (clears and fixes junk data, easiest way to discribe it)doesnt touch the emmc, sd, system, or data. id grab it to.

I'm looking forward to trying this one out, I've been looking for a clean, barebones ICS ROM without any fancy theming.
Maybe name it Vanilla-ICS (if the name hasn't been taken already)
So far, pretty good... launcher has crashed once but not a big deal.... I look forward to updating soon...

If your apps aren't showing up its because the play market has been borked for a few says now with no fix in sight even though Google has confirmed its having issues. So I wouldn't blame the rom just yet

Kind of working.....
It's working, but everything is force closing and the home screen just says "Loading, this may take a few minutes" waiting to see if that clears up. I did update the google apps package for 4.0.1, could that be a problem, do I need the 2.3.5 google apps package, if so, where can I find it?

Did you make sure to do all the wipes properly? IE. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, system, boot, dalvik, sd-ext, etc? Make sure to wipe each option atleast 2x if you are going from aosp to sense or changing sense versions like 1.0 to 2.1,3.5 etc. Not wiping right will cause force closes, bootloops and problems loading

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
1. Why is my phone not deep sleeping?
A: More than likely due to GPS or a rouge app, Run a Speedtest or get a lock on GPS then test deep sleep. If that doesnt solve it use BetterBatteryStats to find the rouge app.
2. What is the battery life like?
A: No one can tell you what YOU'RE battery life will be like, however if you MUST ask its great.
3. My phone locked up and rebooted?
A: If you're using an alternative kernel please report in the thread of said kernel. Otherwise get me the /proc/last_kmsg as a text. I will then bug somebody else that knows how to read this gibberish to tell me what happened
4. Why isnt everything in the screenshots here yet!?
A: As this is 4.2.1 things are still needing to get merged from CM, eventually everything will be back.
5. Can i request that we get such and such feature?
A: You can i will pass it on to Rascarlo however the chances are slim that he will add it, IF its something i really want in the ROM i will see about adding it
6. What do i do with the goodies?
A: With my UBER mods/Theme you flash that, it'll be a zip. Reboot to recovery, flash and enjoy. However the softkeys are a zipthemer. If you dont know how to make a zipthemer in my Signiture i have a link to my Themes, Follow that and in the OP there is a link to HOW-TO's one of which is "how to make a zip themer.

Ok, I have spent countless hours (as a non-techie) trying to get the most updated or close to updated ROM. I just can not get the modem to work after updating. Here is what I did...
* Started on CM 10.1... Android version 4.2.1 with latest gapps and NS4Gmodempatch_CM10.1_AIO(nitest0215) and all is well.
* Did system wipe... cache wipe... dalvic wipe
* Flashed cm-10.1-20130304-EXPERIMENTAL-epicmtd-M2... added gapps-jb-20130301-signed
* Reboot to Recovery... wipe cache... wipe dalvic...
* Flashed ns4g-radio-LF2... reboot to recovery... flashed ns4g-radio-LF2 again... flashed nitest-jb42_nr-twrp-0315... reboot system
NO SERVICE
* Flashed JB_BigMem_26-aug-12... reboot system
NO SERVICE
* Flashed NS4Gmodempatch_CM10.1_AIO(nitest0215) again... reboot system
I HAVE SERVICE... but...
ROM is magically reverted to... cm-10.1-20130215-EXPERIMENTAL-epicmtd,,, kernal 3.0.64-B42nitest-nr... version 4.2.2... baseband D700SPRLF2... BUILD NUMBER: cm_epicmtd-Dropple 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.bbelos test-keys
SO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG HERE??
Nothing wrong. The NS4G patch contains build.prop info that is not up to date. That is why it all changed in your about phone screen. If it bothers you, you can edit build.prop with the proper info, but it is not necessary.

Thanks. I tried that. I tried uninstalling Maps, clearing data, reinstalling trick. Flashed the Mitch01154 Optimal gpsconf.zip. Turned gps off and on. None works, cant even get to lock 1 satellite EVER. This JellyBean is starting to be more of a hassle than a luxury
Okay do a clean fresh wipe/install and what I did from fc09 is I flashed LF2 radio then a ns4g rdy rom then gapps and LF2 stuck then if I wanted to go with a epic modem rom id do a clean fresh wipe/install then epic modem rom then gapps then effsi ns4gswap.zip then LF2 radio then didhiys newest ns4g kernel with big mem patch and u should be good 2go

Same here. I've tried 3 different JB ROMs and can't get my GPS to work reliably on any of them. Sometimes it connects, but usually I get nothing. Frustrating.
Just installed GPS Test. Found 11 satellites and locked to all of them in about 5 secs while indoors. Idk guys. Just for the record I'm running effsi's pacman rom v20.1 with didhiy's nitest kernel with ns4g modem.

Hmm, that's a first. Try Formatting System and clear cache, dalvik factory reset and try it again

Lol! Have you flashed it? Did you have errors just like the other one?
I tried wiping system this time along with formatting data, wipe cache dalvik cache. I am going to see if its a rom bad download and redownload it. So nobody has the same problem as me?
