[Q] Stuck without backup, not stock. - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching for forever, but I don't know how to do this. I am a noob to rooting, and I put ICS (4.0.1) on my HTC Evo 4G using evervolv, and didn't make a backup of the stock rom and os! Now I need to downgrade back to 2.3.5 and get back to the stock rom for 2.3.5. How can I do this?

Flash a Rom from captain_throwback's thread.

Thank you, and one more question.
This link is working, but now, should I get the odexed or the deodexed version? Or what is the difference!

Which one?

Either is good. Odexed is faster but deodexed is easier to play around with.

Thanks!
Thank you for your help! I will install the ROM and will post how it goes.

Kind of working.....
It's working, but everything is force closing and the home screen just says "Loading, this may take a few minutes" waiting to see if that clears up. I did update the google apps package for 4.0.1, could that be a problem, do I need the 2.3.5 google apps package, if so, where can I find it?

No gapps needed. Wipe everything and flash. Reboot and you should be good.

Just got a Nexus 7, sort for the delay have been playing on it. I went to the page you asked me to, went to the 2nd post as it said to, and downloaded and flashed the most recent ROM. Now it just says "loading.... please wait", with the background behind it, and will not get past that screen. A picture is attached (Sorry it is backwards, nexus 7 only has inner camera but is says "Loading, this may take several minutes to complete, please wait.") Please help!

Did you make sure to do all the wipes properly? IE. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, system, boot, dalvik, sd-ext, etc? Make sure to wipe each option atleast 2x if you are going from aosp to sense or changing sense versions like 1.0 to 2.1,3.5 etc. Not wiping right will cause force closes, bootloops and problems loading
We are legion, for we are many.

I ran across this problem with one of my tabs, but not both.
If I accessed CWM using the power and Vol+ key CWM would boot, but fail at flashing.
Go to advanced, reboot recovery
Then try to flash the kernal, then rom.
Im about to post the link to the "package" that has the zimage so people can flash the kernal via heimdall.

So I applied the .so file from the voodoo kernal thread, and rotation works on this ROM. It's also pairing with my bluetooth keyboard folio, so that's win. I pink puffy heart the browser, too. It's fun.

OK, first off.....NOT MY PORT.
But I did stay at a holiday in last night.
This is a cdma cm7 gingerbread port, in a way its kinda a hybrid build. I myself am working on stripping out all the cm7 stuff, fixing camera, apps, weird touchscreen bugs, etc.
I'm kinda shooting for an aosp-ish build, however, I am waiting on permission from original developer to publish any changes I make.
3g and wifi do work.

Flash the ROM
Then do a DARKSIDE.CACHE.WIPE before rebooting.
After the first boot, let it sit for a couple minutes.
*The UVLC8 ICS radio is required.*
There are some reports of Touch Recovery causing problems. This is not 100% confirmed, but if you have any problems try non-touch cwm.
This is a base ROM. It is very similar to CM9, which it is based off of. As development continues I expect it to differ significantly. When Samsung releases the source for the T989 I will begin building the ROM, but until then it will be a base ROM.

It is a .zip you flash before the ROM, it wipes data, cache, etc, but is better than doing it from the recovery. It's not necessary, I just think it is better.

darkside.cache.wipe.zip is also really cool ia use it all the time. its great it wipes cache, dalvik, and fixes permissions. (clears and fixes junk data, easiest way to discribe it)doesnt touch the emmc, sd, system, or data. id grab it to.

[MOD][Battery][8/7] - Percent Battery Mod - JRO03D BASE

Ok, someone requested this so I figured I would knock it out real quick for every to have.
Its basic percent battery mod by 1% increments with stock charging animation.
Thge image size is about 2px bigger than the stock ROM but if its gets any smaller you cant read it, lol.
This is for De-Odex ROMS. It can be flashed to Odex ROM but you must delete SystemUI.odex first.
THIS IS BASED on JRO03D and flashing on any other ROM is at your own risk!

This was exactly what I was looking for since I got my Nexus 7 a couple of weeks ago.
I'm on Odex stock ROM, unlocked and rooted (with TWRP 2).
I basically just followed your instructions from the first post and everything went smooth and without any problems.
Quick question, though: in case I decide to install the next OTA update from Google (whenever that may be) is this going to make this mod obsolete?

Yep, the one for now is still CodeX, SO once I'm done with AXIOM I'll change the name..
So who has flashed this rom . Give us your input please. I am going to flash the original axiom for now i see if there is any problem.

Android.process.acore has stopped!

Can anybody tell me what exactly is this error and the reason to cause this?
Sharing with you my observation so far..Clean installation of Swift ROm..am on DME1..i keep gettin this error however the moment I remove my google account the error disappears n again when i add a google account the problem is back.
Has anybody been through a similar challenge and if anybody can help me with a fix?
Let me also tell you that besides swift, I also faced this challenge with Phoenix and Assassin rom

Clear your cache and also dalvik cache. If that doesn't work, do a full wipe.

Nope bud!
Only apps.
This only happens when I sync google, however the moment I remove google accounts the problem stops.
Hey this problem can occur whenever there is a faulty flash.
Happened to me when I flashed Simplistic framework.
I redownloaded the Zip file to flash and then did a clean install like you did.
Try redoing the whole thing after downloading the ROM afresh.
Hope it helps. All the best

Thnx for your response!
I did a fresh install amd still the same problem. I havent even flashed SF.
When u say you did a clean instal do u mean the rom or SF?
Also what i dont understand why do i face this challenge with multiple roms, had this been with 1 rom I cud understand!
This is honestly getting very annoying and the error keeps flashing on my screen every couple of mins

Did you restore anything else other than apps?
Any data? Contacts, phone logs, or such? This happened to me once when restoring contacts and calendar from titanium.
I did a clean install of the ROM. after a factory reset.

Yeah bud, did all of that but none worked. Finally, I deleted all my contacts and added them manually and its working just fine.
Seems it was a contact issue!
Anyways thanks for your response!
Wipe data of the contacts storage app (written in green color) from titanium backup.

thanks, but the touchwiz roms saw this message from the start of boot and the user cant do nothing in the phone interface.
what worked for me was to go into settings > accounts > google
i unchecked contacts or whatever got stuck at. let the sync proceed with success. and then check back the previous items. worked for me.
hope this is useful.
I also face the same problem
When Whatsapp and Google Play Services running my android.

Contacts Issue
I got this error after uninstalling the Waze app, which integrates into the contacts. I rebooted and the error went away.
All the tricks above didn't help me. I also wipe cache and perform wipe data/factory reset using the recovery but still nothing. The error stil occurs. What can i do?
This error is happening in a 7 inch tablet.
