[Q] HTC IME MOD on WF? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I'm looking for some info about Htc_Ime_mod working on Htc Wildfire. Does anyone know if something like that exist?
I tried simple "Htc Ime" and it works, but only "mod-version" has option to replace special signs (like "ą, ę, ź" etc) by normal signs (like "a, e, z" etc). This feature allows me to send longer SMS so it'll be really great if it exist.
I know there are programms like GoSMS or Handcent, which do the same thing like that keyboard, but I used them and they are so slow when I open them...
I tried some low-res versions of htc ime mod, but there were FC or it looked... really bad. I think it was still too big for WF.
I looked everywhere. Most info are from 2010 yr, when version I'm looking for doesn't exist, so I hope that maybe today it does, but I can't find any info about that.
Sorry for my english.

Calculator???

Hi,
I have the T-mobile MDA Compact III, the Dutch version, with wifi and stuff. I also have a Qtek S200 and the first thing i noticed is that the Compact III has no calculator! This may seem like a small thing, but it bugs me as i got used to using it alot with the S200...
Any plugin or whatever to get a calculator??
Oh and while i'm asking, is there a way to change those freaky pink white colors of the phone pad? I can change theme in the notmal menus but the phone pad always stays with the T-mobile color scheme... any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Rudy
Hmm... interesting. Anyway, there are tons of better calculator out there. I think the.. Omega(?) has a free calculator software.. and if you do a search on www.freewareppc.com, they ought to have a few .. much advance ones too.
Tons of phonepad available in this forum with iPhone wannabe to.. Vista look-alike. Easiest way to get rid of T-mobile stuff is to go Wiki (under WM5 tweak) to get rid of it and use the default.
Had the same problem.
There IS an calculator, only theres no shortcut made by TM
In the folder WINDOWS\calc.exe
there u got to be. ive made an shortcut to it with SPB Pocket plus.
and for the ugly t-mobile color, just install an skin for it. and do a soft reset.
excuse my bad english
Try tapping Start/ Organiser a new window will open desplaying icons for Claculator, Calendar, Notes and Tasks - Strange place to bury the calculator but it is there - Mike
when installing a skin for the phone pad, does it need to be unlocked first or something... and kindof a noob question, but will i lose my warranty?? Where can I download like legal themes for the PDA??
BTW, i found the calc just where you said it would be mike, And i linked it to my right software button!
Forget the CALC from Windows. Try searching for eval. Nice and free Calculator...
You will find it here

iPhone for PPC - Which is the best one?

I have been using Slide2Unlock on my WM6 Hermes now for a while and have really gotten to like it, so much that I want the iPhone look and feel on my PPC.
I have seen a few around but then seem parts of the full package. Is there one particular one that seems the best all rounder?
I came across this one but haven't tried it yet:-
http://www.ozankilic.com/?p=31
I would like a version that has the iPhone dialler but needs to have the smart dialler functionality so that names come up when I type numbers etc..
I would also like to continue to use Slide2Unlock
Also, I would like the icons on the today screen etc...
Can you please point me in the direction of a good version.
Many Thanks
Mark

noob question regarding keyboards (on screen)

OK ... i have moved from WinMo and am liking Android. Been playing with stuff from the marketplace and Handcent etc and Im happy with all that.
Im now looking at trying some of the other touch keyboards.
My question is this. Everything Ive installed so far is an app - ie i start them by clicking an icon. They dont overwrite any of the standard 'Android' software.
With installing a new keyboard is this REPLACING the original keyboard ? Or can i simply unistall the new one if I dont like it and it will revert back to the stock one ?
To be fair I quite like the built in HTC keyboard with its text prediction but coming from WinMo and Flashing I just like to tinker
Chances are i will revert back to the stock one anyway ... just dont want to find ive overwritten it or lost features.
Ive not rooted .... not sure im brave enough yet
Do a long press on any text input box, and you should be able to change the keyboard with the "input method" option
cheers
feel safer having a tinker now

[Q] Japanese Encoding Support

Hi,
I've recently got my HTC One X. It's the non 4G version with four cores, I purchesed it from allphones in australia.
One of the main reasons I got this phone was to help me study japanese, which I use Ankidroid for.
Anyway my main issue is that japanese charactors (Kanji) are appearing as their chinese varients.
I think it's some sort of failed attempt at this: "Google "Han Unification" and click wikipedia as I can't post links"
For example: 直 looks like 直
骨looks like 骨
It's really annoying and completly funked out. Presumably it works for japanese users of this phone? I'm using muliling with the japanese plugin for IME.
I'm a bit worried about rooting in case the Wi-Fi Antenna falls off or something and I can't return it under warently. It's serial number starts with HT24KW12....
I am interested in rooting though if this wasn't an issue.
Thank you for anyone that can give me any help, this is very frustrating and I can't seems to find any information that will help me, despite my searches.
Is it that I need to install a certain font?
Does anyone know of a way to do this?
