all i see is qpst from a computer and how to get your msl from phone? i want to change it using just the phone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA

Good question... I never thought to ask since it is such a specialized procedure I figured that was the only way to do it. I would love to be able to switch it in and our on the fly. Lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

most phones you can.. but on this one i dont think so, I havent been able to figure it out.. there is no ##prl# and it isnt in the epst program either..

There is no way to change prl from just the phone, sorry.
Korey's thread in general section has step by step how to do it with qpst program.

I generally stick with PRL 01115, which grants 3G roaming in most areas, paired with Roam Control to force roaming if I absolutely need it.

Wimax boost?

Is there any way to boost my 4g signal? Its around the corner , im just not close enough..thanks
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
As far as I know, no. Not unless you get a clear module, which is like your own hotspot, but you have to pay for it per month. Also people have had issues with the signal being lost/weakens when going from outside to inside buildings.
Airave wont boost your wimax, totally diffrent everything. Not sure if there is a wimax booster

Typo, I meant to say clear. But the clear hotspot would be his only option. Or use 4G outside.
Thanks guys, and i got an airwave its great for 3g boost in home but not 4g

Well as I said for a 4G boost, you'd have to get a Clear hotspot, which is for 4G, or use 4G outside.

You could try aluminum foil.
Actually, there is way to adjust your Wimax setting to allow it to pick up weaker signals. You need your MSL code. Do a ##3282#, go to edit mode, enter the MSL code, go to Wimax, and find the "WiMAX_Entry_RX(RSSI)(dBm) and adjust it from -89 to -95 and continue in small increments until you find a sweet spot.
I got this from a thread on here that another member created. I tried searching for it to post this but I couldn't find it. I take no credit for figuring this out.

If I am not mistaken, that only works on a sense rom, correct? Then he'd have to flash black.

Yea, that's right......AOSP roms lose EPST functions. Being a Sense user, that totally slipped my mind. However, he has not mentioned if he is on an AOSP rom, so it may still help him.

How are you going to activate the EVO 4G on Verizon? As for flashing roms, they *should* have no effect on the PRL.

Won't happen. The DOJ, and FCC would have a very tough time approving it. Much less getting it past Congress. Too close to an election year. Plus if that were to happen then only thing you'll notice is possibly better reception, and a different looking invoice. Why do you think Chrysler still exists?

To answer your question, no. Flashing a different ROM won't effect your PRL.
However, it will effect your APN settings for sure. There may be other settings that would be effected as well. Google around for threads about people using Evos on PagePlus. Since it is a Verizon MVNO any of the things that would affect an Evo on PagePlus would effect an Evo on Verizon. *228 may fix some of those issues automatically with Verizon where it wouldn't with PagePlus.
Wondering how you're getting Verizon to accept your Evo in their system, how you're flashing the data settings, and why you're not getting a Thunderbolt instead since it is basically a spiced-up Evo.

First of all, you have to have a legal copy of Roam Control, pirated copies do not work properly.
A custom PRL used in conjunction with Roam Control will allow you to force roam on another provider like Verizon. If you do not flash a custom prl to the phone, you will still be roaming on Sprint at 1x speeds. Using the custom PRL for roaming will give you up to 3G data speed and usually a better signal. It is best used where your Sprint signal is very low (after all, why force roam if you don't have to).
The PRL thread is here:

Just download a prl zip of your choosing and install roam control from the play store? No other steps?

LOL, TT you threw me for a loop there so I had to go look. It's not available in the Play Store, you still have to purchase it from the website I believe:
http://www.roamctrl.com/
The PRL thing isn't that simple. Check out the PRL thread I posted for programming info. It's not something you 'flash' exactly.
Also, PRL programming won't work on some ROMs (I think CM9 is one of them) so you'll have to search that thread if the programming steps don't work for you.

a different prl means using specific antennas that spring doesn't want you to use. you can already use your phone abroad through your gsm radio. I wouldn't recommend changing prl unless you want to piss off sprint. they will see you costing them Verizon bytes and either cancel your contact, sue you, or put a hit out on you; most likely they will do the first two thought.
there is a benefit to UPDATING your prl this is a setting in your menus and it could help with speed or signal but if you are having to do this too much I would call sprint to yell at their local capacity issues

[Q] Sprint PRL & Service Issues

So I'm currently on PRL 51100 and saw from the sprint PRL thread that that one is associated with iPhones and that the 21100 is the one for triband phones so I'm wondering are there others that are on 51100 as well?
I tend to miss many calls when I'm at home and wondering if switching PRLs would help.
Anyone else having similar issues or running a different PRL with better results?

I'm running the same PRL. The wording wasn't too clear about 21100... I'm not sure if I should change PRL to something else, is this also a world LTE phone too and should use that one?
OK, I've done it here, and I'm in a Spark area. No LTE at home, but that is as was before, I'll see if I get better LTE reception at work with the 21100 PRL.

I'm in NYC, I used "Basic-Flasher", and flashed the PRL manually as re-loading it kept giving me the iPhone one. Do you need a link to the relevant threads?

Instructions are included.
These are the Sprint PRLs:

I should note that anything you do to your phone is at your own risk, and if you break your phone doing this, you are guaranteed to own both pieces.
Oh, I'm rooted, BTW, running KitKat LG G2 stock with custom recovery.

well so far this has been a bust for me. I have a mac so I can't get the tool to work on my computer. I installed parallels to run windows as a virtual machine but can't get it to recognize my phone after installing the drivers.
interested to see your experience with the 21100 PRL though so let me know. Maybe I can find a friends windows PC to use at some point.
