hey, for some reason i cant log in to facebook using pocket IE. any ideas why? is there some other browser i can use that would work? if so, how do i get it? thanks
omar
I assume you mean the mobile version of it. It used to work. No idea why it stopped. I just go to the standard version now. PITA. Maybe the carrier?

Nope, its Internet Explorer. Bookmark this link and you should be good to go...
http://www.facebook.com/login.php
If that does not work. Go on your PC and login. Use the sub-link that is placed before facebook.com and replace the www above with it.

U can also clear ur history and temporary internet files. And make sure u get the security warning. Once u get it, ur good to go. At first i thought it was Gmail but it seems its a IE thing.
edit: It is a gmail thing. At least for me. Scroll to bottom and click "view in HTML" and u'll get security warning.
loggin into facebook is the easy part, but can you post on walls? I've had no luck doing that
The mobile version of the site is far better.
http://m.facebook.com
Mobile Facebook is great. I just got on it today because they recently did a redesign which is making it a pain to view in Pocket IE.
I also have problems logging into m.facebook.com but I usually get to the login screen and then use the link at the bottom of the page to do a standard login. The only thing that annoys me is that if I use my P990i instead I stay permanantly logged in on it, whereas my MDA Mail (UK Spec) keeps on logging me out grrr.
If you're having trouble getting the login at m.facebook.com to work, try this link instead:
http://m.facebook.com/login.php?http&next=http://m.facebook.com/home.php
Bookmark that, and you'll be good to go. It basically forces you to the HTML login page instead of the WAP login, but keeps you on the mobile interface to save data.
I just got my Sprint Arrive today, and have been working on getting it set up. I'm having a problem with Marketplace.
I am in the US, and have a Windows Live account, based on a Hotmail email address that is from 12 or 14 years ago, probably. That Windows Live account is linked to my MSDN account, and I have never had any problem. Marketplace works within the Zune software on the computer, but when I attempt to use it in the phone, it tells me that "Marketplace is not yet available in your country/region."
I have not been able to find a setting that says what country I'm in, and I haven't found a way to remove the Live account from the phone, so I can try re"installing" it.
I just created a Live account for my wife today, and Marketplace works fine on her Arrive.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Go to https://billing.microsoft.com/viewpersonalinfo.aspx, what do you see under Country/Region?
Under Personal Information, it says United States. Also of note, I have a credit card on file, and have made purchases through Marketplace using my WinMo 6.5, 5.0, and 4.0 devices, as well as having a soon to be depricated "lifetime" MSN Direct account for my Garmin Nuvi. I'm puzzled.
There is also an XBox Live account that I didn't know I had. The phone must have created it??? It says United States, too.
What about https://account.live.com/?
That one says United States as well. I appreciate the tips, though!
Oh, now this is getting ridiculous......... I uninstalled the facebook app that I put on earlier, and now when I try to put it back, it says I already purchased it. It doesn't give me a way to reinstall it. Microsoft is really ticking me off with this phone, and I've been looking forward to it since last May.
And I still haven't gotten the marketplace on the phone to work - only through the computer. I'm about ready to throw this thing.
When it says you already purchased, it should allow u to install
Not sure what going on...
Well, for the moment, I'm stuck with Marketplace in Zune. Could be that the Install button is available in the phone Marketplace, but I don't see one in Zune. I have a ticket in with Sprint advanced tech support, and they are supposed to get back to me, but of course, this is day 3 of Sprint having this OS.
yeah... it's down for me as well. i'll use Zune if anything.
Well, the Sprint rep never called me back last night, so on the off-chance that it would work, I reset my phone. Now it works.
Thanks for the tips, guys.
Hey guys, I've updated my HTC Trophy to Mango and I've noticed a problem with WLM in Messaging.
In the Messaging under online, it only shows some contacts online, but not every online contact.
and when I go to some contact in the PeopleHub, it says text+chat, but it doesn't show it for everyone I speak to on WLM.
Anyone got a fix for this?
Thanks.
I have noticed this with my FB contacts. Some friends don't show up in the list available on my phone, but it does show them as available in FB chat on my computer.
I have this issue too.
And hope this is just a beta bug, but sometimes when I'm chatting with someone and I turn the screen off and after a while I turn on and go chat with the same person, it shows me that he is offline.
I need to go back to message hub, slide to "online" and wait to load again.
Its a privacy setting they have enabled to allow apps certain permissions. Fb has these and wlm has them each friend. Has to grant access to other apps to use chat and such

I've found that it's just the people I have added recently, all my older contacts seem to work fine.

Sync manualy once all of your accounts in Settings/email-accounts...
I download new content every 30 minutes and I keep syncing in manually in settings>email+accounts.
I'll be able to chat to people on WLM desktop, but not in Messaging on my phone, they don't appear online.
The problem might be the server that Windows Phone using is not the same as WLM, and some functionality of WLM have not finished yet in the current build of Mango (as it is for dev to testing app). We might have to wait until they release the final build or might be another working update. Right now, even those people from FB, Y!M or Gmail can see you online and they can send you message, but you probably cannot send back to them due to the limit of current build. However, I can confirm that WLM working perfectly. So if you guy has Live id, use it for messenger for now until we have the good build as we can message other services.
When, if ever, can we expect this in the UK? I have come from iPhone which had all my music on and could purchase anything via iTunes, to my nexus which I can't do neither on. Apart from this small problem, I love my phone buy I do miss these things. I know there are ways to pretend you are in the USA but just wondering if its going to be official in the future. Also, what apps are people using to purchase/download music?
Thanks and happy Christmas!

Only google knows when it'll roll out. If I was you I would trick your way into the market with a us account. The only other option I could think is amazon mp3 store, but I don't think they rolled it out internationally yet either. But I prefer Google music app and service over amazon.

I now have google music
Hi Guys,
Sorry for bumping an old post.
I have a google music account, I did it through a proxy, I also have the app by using market enabler to be able to install it.
How do I actually upload music? Do I have to use a proxy to do this? if so it's kinda a waste of time, i'll wait till it's officially released.

You don't need to upload via a proxy, sign in to the Music page online and download the app 'Music Manager' I think. It runs in the background on your PC. Word of warning though it takes forever! Also make sure your tags are correct as once your music is uploaded it's a pain to edit.
The only problem with that though, is when I try to access the music page online without a proxy, I get "We're sorry. The Google Play music player is currently only available in the United States."
The app itself on my phone works okay, but all my files are locally on my phone. I don't mind it being slow, I can upload on a work connection so it's faster thana standard connection.
Once you've actually signed up (using a proxy if outside the US), then it shouldn't care. You should be able to be logged into your google account, and go to http://music.google.com and be logged in to your account. Then you can get music manager and upload your tracks.
Isn't working.
When I access through a proxy, the website comes up like this:
When I then take myself off the proxy, and on my normal connection, comes back with this:

I had exactly the same problem, and I tried many proxy servers. The way I finally managed it was to use a VPN like the one here http://www.vpnsurfing.com/2011/11/free-vpn-provided-by-hotfreevpn-com-us-uk-and-canada-ip/ now I don't know how safe it is so probably best to change your google password after your finished as a precaution.

Just tried this at work, I have a feeling that something is blocking it, i'm going through a proxy within a proxy aswell(just so people can't go sniffing into what i'm trying to do).
I'll try this weekend.
Also, I changed my password to something random before trying this, now when I go to change my password on my email, it won't let me use my old password, any fix to get around this?
It should work... I did the same as you, so signed up via a proxy and downloaded the music manager program and then got the app via market enabler...
After the initial sign in I've never used a proxy again as it doesn't check your ip again...
Are you able to click on upload music as that should then take you to the download page for the music manager program...
I'm in the UK and have Google Music access.
Just used a US proxy...
richfreestone, my guess as to why it didn't work was because there is a terms and conditions window that appears that you must agree to before you can use Google Music, sorry Google Play! Most likely the proxy you was using didn't handle javascript.
I recommend you just use tor, configure for US proxies then sign into Google Play, the terms and conditions will appear, agree to them and you're done, download the client and upload music.

Another signup method is using a vpn application that terminates in the USA - TunnelBear worked well for me.
I've managed to get to the sign up page using Tors, but the Terms Of Service pop-up wont go away after I click on Agree. :-( :-(
I know this threads quite old but I managed to sign up using TOR.
Then just kept switching identity and checking the IP till I got one in the US.
Signed up, signed in and working superb.

If you log into Zune, you should be able to go to purchase history and see if the download occured. Also, you can go to Windowsphone.com, click on your account and see the same downloads.
What you say about the AT&T section though indicates a potential problem. If the AT&T section and/or the Nokia section is missing from the marketplace, it indicates you may not be provisioned correctly. All Windows Phone users get Marketplace. Those special sections, called Storefronts, are available only to validated customers of that carrier, hardware or OEM. It may take a few hours for them to actually show up. If yours is not showing up, then it indicates a connection is not being correctly made. I'd call AT&T and validate your data connection is correctly set up. Been alot of that going on the last 4 days, but now that the phone is released to the public, we should see less of it occuring.
Good Luck
Ive got a problem with a CC that expired. They let me update my expiration date but not the stupid CCV code... DUH. So I ended up adding a different card.

Did you call billing...you should have been able to edit the credit card and validate it online.
I logged in to Zune and found my purchase history. However there aren't any registered devices. Do I need to sync the L900 with Zune on a computer? Could that be why I can't download/purchase new apps?
Thanks!

YOu don't need to sync, though it makes it easier to see. The results you're looking for are pulled off of your account with Microsoft. As long as your zune account and microsoft account are the same ID, there's no worries.
However, if you go to WindowsPhone.com and log in, this is the uber site. You will see your information here, and be able to see your device, and potentially reinstall most apps from this site.
Go to Microsoft.com/windowsphone. log in with your Windows Live ID on the right side. You'll see your registered name appear. Click here and choose account. You'll see lots of stuff.
Problem solved: As you suspected, the phone was not correctly commissioned. Called AT&T and worked through it. We're good now! Thanks again.

What are the odds NONE of the blog sites pick up this provisioning thing as a resolution? Apparently little bandito's are a better story.
I suffer the same'ish issue. I'm not able to purchase apps via Windowsphone.com but I can buy apps via Market Place on my phone.
Unfortunately the 1-800 number for Zune support has been disconnected. I have not been successful finding a way to call Microsoft billing support to update my ccv#.

The 1-800 number was only for WP7 support....not mango and above..they've moved on.
I see your problem...the billing site for MS has removed the call options.
Try this.....chat support. I'm told they will call you back with billing issues.

A side note though....this only works if you are also an xboxlive customer. If you are not, then this does not always work.
Apparently, Microsoft is still bringing all the variations of the Windows Live ID together....still not there yet.
