Hello!
I am using Leedroid 6.2 and uninstalled Notes, google+,HTC message and media uploader because they always use Data internet. Now my big problem is googel Maps! I don't want to uninstall it but it's make me mad to see it always working in background
It's certainly a battery, memory and cpu eater, can't auto-kill it with task manager either
So how can I block this app to open all the time?
There is a switch to turn off Mobile Data, which I would recommend rather than uninstall apps like HTC Message (how do you get text messages?)
Android caches a lot of applications and just because it's using memory doesn't mean that it's using CPU cycles. If something else comes along and needs the memory it'll cache the Maps app.
If you really want it to not run all the time, you'll have to either uninstall or disable it.
Media uploader backup your messages on HTC server, the sms app is still here

I see it in battery stats even if I haven't opened it...

Why don't you use a task killer like Advance Task Killer, it's free on the market, that should help you, also if you don't need that app just remove it.
Just follow the steps on this link.

ATK won't help him at all, System Panel can already kill apps. The problem is that the app shouldn't be staying alive the entire time. There's something else wrong.
Have you done any research as to what that process is?
I've read it could have something to do with GPS but everytime system panel shows it running my sync icon shows up... Idk..

If com.htc.bgp has something to do with location services (according to Google), and (iirc) HTC has Weather listed in Accounts and Sync, and Weather uses location services....
Disable Weather in Accounts and Sync?
Worth a shot.
i also have the problem with com.htc.bgp.
I don't have anything to do with weather in accounts and sync.
all I have in there is my 2 mails.
I don't even have htc weather in my rom. no sense either.
any other ideas to what I can do to stop that error message? its really annoying.
"Clear Data" of the Calendar also works for the CPU usage of com.htc.bgp
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659325
was wondering
Don't know if there's an app for that.
I did it using my google account.
The dialer or contacts app for miui has remove duplicate feature. You could install that or flash it, which ever way works.
Swyped...
I believe that this issue can easily solved by using the HTC sense link function in your people app ...

Hello.
What is the first thing (or first few things) you do after flashing a new ROM?
Me: disable data =D; I get charged like crazy if I leave it on. I turn it back on only when needed.
The very first thing I do is hit reboot in recovery.
via xda app
Ummmm setting up a google account and sync my contacts...

Same here, make sure I'm signed into my google account and get all my contacts back. Or else I get texts from people and don't know who they're from
Praying to god this would be my last flash. I managed to accomplish that.
Restore contacts and accounts
same here, then reboot.
I disable data..enable wifi and set up my google account, change my wallpaper and titanium restore.
The first thing I do is fill my Google Account in order to reinstall my free apps from the Market and my address book contacts to see if the memory below Ext is well behaved and if so restored with titanium backup.
disabling/freezing apps/services that i dont want, and make my data connection 2g for more batter : O)

Hi folks,
Got the problem above, used to work fine but the notifications don't show anymore... Already logged out, uninstalled and installed updates, cleared cache and also tried the Blackberry workaround... Still no luck...
Any suggestions or ideas I can get the notifications work?
My girlfriend has got the same phone and hers is working fine..
Please advise

mine stopped too around juli 29th, my guess it's a server side issue, it happened before in the past.

Hi I had this but I went into settings turned them all off come out of app so it saves and then terminated the app in app manager than went back and enabled them all again and it started working again
This may help you with your issue
make sure it's not been restricted in usage for background data download too hope this helps

Check that Google Talk connects to the Google Servers - you don't need to use it - but all push notifications will stop if Google Talk cannot connect to the Google Servers.

Hmmm... Now that could be a possibility, how do I check that?
I did notice google talk with contacts showing offline when they are actually online

I removed the permissions on facebook (the website) for sense and deleted all data for all 3 friendstream apps, after a while I got one message, unfortunately it was the last messege I had already recieved. I really believe it's a serverside issue. I have seen this before, also with other 3rd party FB widget....

To rule out a push notification (C2DM) issue - you need another app that uses Push Notifications - like Twitter or something.
Got Twitter and that doesn't give any notifications either...
Do you think factory reset will help? Don't want to go through that do formatting, installing apps etc for nothing..

wait I think I did find a bug :

OK - so try the following:
Open Google Talk - Sign Out. Sign back in.
Check Android Settings > Accounts & Sync to see if there is a problem with the Sync service.
Check Auto Sync is switched on - and try toggling it off and back on.
Reboot the phone.
For info - I am getting Tweets and Facebook notifications fine here - so there is nothing wrong with either service.
Check the links above, you might receive some types of notifications but all, it's a confirmed server side error
Ah well guess I'm gonna need to wait till the next update is out...
What I don't understand how my girlfriends phone (which s exactly the same as mine) is working fine with all notifications

I don't know, really....if you check their bug tacker it could be all sorts of issue where messages made from certain apps don't trigger notifications, there are many different types of notifications, some migh work, some might not. I got using facebook via mobile apps (htc, samsung other 3rd party apps)since 2010 and it just happened a few times before and then after a while it will start working again.
If you want it working use the official facebook app, it usually keeps working until the problems are fixed. If you have cleared the data for friendstream and facebook, removed the right of the friendstream app and started over there is nothing more you can do
I am using the official facebook app (came with the phone) and never used friend stream or tweetdeck..
I have done a factory reset and also disabled friendstream but still no notification... Rage !!

This is crazy because my phone I receive notifications from Facebook app and the twitter app it didn't when I got the phone but I disabled all notifications in app and then enabled them
I started to get them I get message notifications and post notifications not had issue since
So this can't be just down to servers its like the phone is refusing them nothing much else I can suggest lol

I have started receiving some notifications again but not all, trust me it's the server.
We all know that when having auto sync enabled it is not so kind to our battery's life when we are on the go killing it quicker than expected.
I would like to know if our applications are able to sync normally without enabling auto sync such as mail, etc due to the fact thst they have updating options.
Personally, I doubt that this is possible due to the fact that I have testes this with my built in mail app from one of the sense roms and without it enabled or personally opening the app my emails did not come through. Hopefully I am wrong about this
