Hi there XDA,
I have searched and tried many different ways to help me,
but none have worked or are lacking in information for me to follow methods.
so i have turned to your general help!
i do not have any knowledge on how my phones bootloader was unlocked or any fastboot things at all, if you could explain to me step by step methods of using the fastboot option via connecting it to my computer to get it to work including files i need that would help.
well okay these are my problems.
~ I tried flashing a jdroid rom, with aroma installer.
it installed the rom but after i installed it it was looping the 'HTC' logo at startup.
what happens is i turn it on, it says "htc quietly brilliant" hangs for a few seconds, screen goes black then phone vibrates and it repeats.
i have a CWM flashed but whenever i boot into recovery it the cwm flashes on the screen for one tenth of a second and then it reboots and i get a loop of booting screen.
If anyone could please help that would be greatly appreciated! i have only had this phone for one week! and it is vital i get it fixed as i have alot of information in the SD card vital to my business
First, download the RUU for your phone (you should have it already as you got it before unlocking the bootloader, right?). If you didn't, then this is the first rookie mistake you've made
Second, relock the bootloader. This involves using fastboot which, again, you should how to use before doing anything that can potentially lead to issues. If you don't know how to use fastboot then check the threads in the Dev forum or Google it
Third, make sure the phone is connected in fastboot and run the RUU
This will get you back to stock and then you can start again (once you've read up on everything properly)
I tryed to install RUU yesterday with relocked bootloader to solve sense issue but did not get it work.
Tryed with 1.25, 1,28 and 1,29 but got error 120 and 170 (no USB connection and low battery even battery was 95%).
Any idea why?
Then I removed CID line in OTA and installed it by fastboot and sense issue was gone
Good news is you're not bricked, do you have adb installed on your pc?

Ok first thing to do is download the android sdk and install it. Once done report back.
If you get a java not installed messege on install the sdk it will give you a link to the jdk download the 32bit version.

If your friend unlocked and rooted your phone, he must have had the necessary tools on his pc.
Before trying other things, get your friend to run fastboot erase cache (or if you have the necessary tools run it yourself with your device booted in fastboot of course (volume down and power pressed))

hmm i have done some extra researching and had more help but my phone is in fastboot and is connected via cable to pc but the CMD always comes up with "waiting for device"
Have u got HTC sync installed
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Once you have htc sync installed or just thethe drivers boot into hboot. Click on fastboot plug in device. It should show fastboot-usb.
If you bootloader shows unlocked open cmd and cd to the platform-tools folder in the sdk and type: fastboot oem lock.
This will relock the bootloader and reboot the phone. Boot back to fastboot the run the ruu for your cid and all will be back to normal.

Everyone just made a trade today for iphone 4s 64gb for a tegra 3 htc one x. I bricked my phone trying to unroot it wanting some old software back. Stuck on bootloader screen. I don't have access to any files or anything. Please leave download links and very detailed steps. I'm a real dummy. I got it relocked so far and basically want to get it back up and running. Looks like a european version not 100% on that.
Which rom were you on before unrooting? Were you trying to flash an ruu ? What did you do to unroot and at which point did you get stuck ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I first downloaded the unroot files did the relock by doing the recovery through cmd. I just followed a youtube video and the point it was suppose to restart it gave me that red alert sign and got stuck so I factory reset and it keeps going back to bootloader.

You relock by typing this into your terminal : fastboot oem lock
No additional files needed its just a command
Then download the stock recovery for one x which you can find in a lot of places and this forum as well, put it in your fastboot folder, to make it simpler rename it to something like hoxstockrec.img .. now put your phone in fastboot and in terminal type fastboot flash recovery hoxstockrec.img
I don't know about that unrooting file you were talking about but it probably does its job. Also, are you on stock ROM?

hi im in the exact same situation can you help please?did you figure it out?done what the other guy in this post said and still didnt work
You can install the original 1.29 RUU for European HOX. You need to boot the phone while typing vol down+power button, press fastboot and run the downloaded RUU. You need at least 30% of battery. (Relocked bootloader needed)

you need to run the RUU while in the rom with usb debugging enabled. you leave it at fastboot when you are running the fastboot commands from the PC

did you install htc sync?
I know how to manually flash from the RUU, but I'm not sure that it would fix the problem and could break something. (especially since this RUU modifies hboot)
I'm also not sure if this fix works on phones that are capable of s-off. Which carrier do you have?

Hi friendly XDA peeps
I need some urgent n00b help. I've had an HTC Desire/Bravo for about 2 years now. Waaaaaaay back I managed to S-Off and root the thing, get the Revolutionary fastboot on and load MIUI. I want to reset the thing back to "stock". I downloaded the 2.3 RUU for flashing, but I'm running into the following problems:
I'm running Windows 8, so getting drivers is nigh on impossible
Connecting the phone via USB to the PC picks it up fine under device manager
Connecting the phone via USB under FASTBOOT results in the device not being recognized
ADB picks the device up fine when it's started up
Executing the RUU works fine until it gets to fastboot, where Windows doesn't recognize the device again and just hangs there
So I'm pretty desperate at this stage... It seems the device is USB bricked. I'd REALLY like to factory reset this thing with the RUU, but I'm out of ideas as to what to do now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
EDIT: Crappers, saw it's in the wrong section. Should be under Troubleshooting. Please move this thread...
Why dont u just put a stock sense rom on it? Then he or she can have The perks if he or she wants them
.. Maybe slam a leedroid on there..

Problem is, that the phone is USB bricked and I cant find usable fastboot drivers for Windows 8 to run the fastboot command to unbrick it... Even flashing a RUU just hangs in fastboot, because Windows doesn't recognize the device when it's in fastboot mode.

Theres a thread in desire general i think and its by K3lcior and he shows how to get drivers installed on windows 8. Find a post by him then go to his profile and look at threads strated by him n u will find it.
Also, if ur still s-off try flashing 4ext recovery as PB99IMG (in my sig) and use the unbrick option. But i think its because of windows 8, not usb brick.
Ok, I managed to find a Windows 7 PC at work today and loaded the necessary drivers. Performed the fastboot fix and flashed the RUU. Thanks for the patience and info!

If you are still s-off you can flash 4ext recovery through fastboot , run usb unbrick function if you are even usb bricked , and then
flash PB99IMG.zip version of 2.3.3 RUU

Do u still have the Unlock_code.bin when you first unlock your bootloader?if u dont understand, maybe u can link me the video that u watch to root the device first, let me see it first
or if u still have the unlock.bin just boot to fastboot and then
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin and flash the recovery
yes, i still have the Unlock_code.bin I can't give you the video link because it's not permited since i'm anew member..
i think my main problem is that my laptop don't recognize my phone, when i type adb devices in the command windows, it is said "list of device attached" so i can't type any command like fastboot or anything, do you have link to htc driver for windows 8.1, i have installed htc sync manager and it's still nothing. maybe i should try using another laptop with windows 7 os, don't you think so?
Hi. I have done the same thing, unlocked the boot loader s-off and the installed cwm recovery........ I then installed the stock recovery and relock the bootloader so now I am s-off with stock recovery with relocked bootloader with tamper flag. the problem I have now is that I can not re unlock my boot loader because no matter what I try I get a fail when ever I try and get the identifier token. any ideas folks?

Hello everyone,
I've run myself in an unusual situation. A friend has asked me for help with her M9 after it stopped booting altogether (stuck on home screen). She took it in for repairs, and the support told her the MB may be bad, or that it has been rooted but I know for a fact it cannot have been rooted.
Nevertheless, when I try to boot into recovery it gives me a message of 'development build by Htc, software modified'. When I am on the bootloader, it says that software is official.
I am not sure if USB debugging had been enabled or not, but when I plug it in with ADB on in download mode, no devices are recognised.
I know this is not much to go by, but I would like to re-install stock on the M9 rather than have her pay 200 bucks or more to do it in a shop. At this point she has nothing to lose.
Can you help me with a guideline? Thank you.
Download mode would be fastboot devices. Then you just have to know which carrier it comes from.

Thanks -
even in fastboot I do not see it. If the usb debugging should've been used prior to it being 'bricked' then I am in trouble. If not, then i am doing something wrong?
USB debugging doesn't matter for fastboot I think. Not sure though. Is the boot loader locked? Wait in fastboot mode? In download mode try the command fastboot devices

I tried fastboot devices, but nothing could it be I don't have the right drivers or such? I can't see anything.
Possibly. It also could be that the "Support" person was correct and the MB is truly bad.
You have two options here:
1. Plug a different m9 phone in and see if you can see it with fastboot devices
2. Check device manager and make sure you dont have any devices with the yellow ! sign over them. Also check and make sure you have Android USB Devices and under that My HTC or something close to that.
Did you tried flash a RUU via download mode?
Could not make it work all weekend. I'll try sending it to HTC this week !
