[Q] Battery Issue with sync - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have searched the forum and couldn't find a thread about this issue, hence opening a new one.
I bought my Galaxy Nexus few weeks ago.. The issue is:
My battery seems to drain very fast when 'sync' is on. During night time I tested and results are as follow:
What might be the reason for the same? I am running stock 4.0.2 rom.

Any help??

Will this work for sure? I wasn't eager to flash a yakju/takju build right now specially with the signal issues with someone on 4.0.4.

No, it will not work for sure. You should give us some more information and the screenshots of your usage. You probably have some sort of wakelock going on. Use something like Better Battery Stats and monitor those first.

the battery is draining even when I am not using it all. Is battery drain @ 4-5% per hour is okay when not using the phone at all?

It's not stupid. I'm just asking to see what people have been have their experiences with.
It is stupid, considering there are 8+ threads EXACTLY like this.

Yes it is stupid... just cuz I get 5 days with so and so ROM and kernel, DOES NOT.. I REPEAT... DOES NOT mean you will also. Nobody can tell you what to expect if we all use are phones differently.

I get 3 weeks out of one charge with my Nexus. But its on Airplane Mode all that time. CM12 - Best ROM so far.
Sorry... I see these threads all the time & I never reply. But I guess its just a pointless thread so I wanted to put a pointless answer.
They all drain pretty quickly
I think it's less about the right rom/kernel and more about using something like juicedefender or go power management from the play store. They help automatically switch stuff on and off that eats battery quickly.

Has absolutely nothing to do with juice defender that stuff is a waste of ram.

truth
why install something that will run in the background, to save battery? makes no sense at all.
All that juicedefender crap is placebo.

In my experience definitely not true. At work I have a hit and miss signal. If I leave 3g active the battery drains really fast while the phone is sleeping. Like 10% in an hour sometimes. Turning on juice defender which for me is just disabling data while the screen is off. The battery will not move in the same amount of time. Maybe 1% will be gone.
I believe it is because the phone keeps trying to grab a signal in the weak areas.
Whatever it is there is for sure a huge difference. I have tested many times. Can hardly get through the day sometimes if I leave data on.
The thing I hate about it is a lot of the time the phone takes forever to reconnect so I have to wait every time I wake it.
i use my phone a lot for web, music, calls, messaging, social app, and the best kernel i used and put in my rom (but for maguro) is Trinity Kernel 1344 cpu / 384 gpu Stable35. i advice this kernel . for the rom a stock rooted, busyboxed, deodexed, zipaligned and with useful build.prop tweak for battery life. this has been my philosophy for my rom and i'm very satisfied

Android System - Stay Awake

Hello Forum,
So i have been having trouble getting good battery life. I basically have nothing running and it goes dead. I think i might be on the right track but not sure.
I was looking at my android system in battery and noticed that the stay awake time was really high as anybody else seen this.
I added a screen shot so u can see. Any help would be great.
Thanks
SHiFT.
Dl better battery stats, it will tell you exactly what is keeping your phone awake. Not much assistance can be given until you know exactly what's causing the issue. Also try a simple reboot, at time something in android system went rogue on me and a reboot fixed it up.

I download the app I will report tomorrow
Edit: it looks like it's not working
Try holding down the middle button until the task list pops up and hit remove all, this has helped me. I also switched to nova launcher which I think has helped.

What apps are you running? Install Better Battery Stats from XDA. Look at alarms and wakelocks to figure out what is draining battery. You may also want to consider a new battery.
Screen brightness level?
WiFi on?
CPU governor?
Overclocked?
reception strength?
Running applications?
U said that u tried many ROMS had same problem,it should be battery problem

That is not showing a loss of 1% a minute. Google Now and location services, possibly GPS, are draining some battery; wifi may be as well. But it shows nowhere near the levels of drain you reported. Your battery may just need changing.
Ok i better change my battery anyway thanks alot for your help

Am I Wasting My Time?

My VZW GN is losing an insane amount of battery overnight, 30-35%, on wifi. I checked for rogue apps and out of control background syncs but all appears to be in order. I've had the phone since January and have always run it stock due to my work needs. I now use a different device for work and am ready to return to my rooting and rom'ing ways. While I know all the other advantages of going the superuser way I'm mostly concerned with slowing doing my out of the control battery. I'm currently running the latest VZW ota (4.1.1) and that's pretty much when my battery woes began.
So....am I going to find better battery life ditching the stock kernel, flashing older radios, etc? Or is wishful thinking to think that I can significantly improve battery life? Thanks for any input.

I was asking do custom kernels make a big difference all things remaining equal. I provided a screen shot above, I do this a lot and the drainage info varies but the drain remains nonetheless.

Custom kernels can make difference. Try looking for a kernel that is meant for good battery life.
looks like you have bad phone signal and thats the problem

Thanks, I get much better signal at work and the drain remains. I realize that bad signal will drain battery. I was hesitant to post a screenie because my question wasn't geared to what's the problem per se, I was asking do custom kernels and or different radio combos make a difference all things remaining equal. I realize that part of fixing the problem is understanding the cause but I was trying to decide if tinkering is worth the battery investment.

[Q] Battery Issue, Never go below 100%

Alright, As the title says I'm having a battery issue. I just bought the phone used, unlocked it, Flashed CM 10.1, and ever since changing ROMs the battery hasn`t gone down below 100%. I've let the battery go flat, wipe Battery_stats.bin. Issue remains un resolved. I also tried to recalibrate using an app, still no improvement. Any ideas on how it can be fixed? Anyone out there having same/similar problems?
EDIT: Also, I`m rooted & have CWM installed.
let me get this straight
your battery is always full?
Try With Change Your Kernel. But Must Match with Recomendation ROM Kernel.
