Update is coming!! - HTC One X

Today I was talking to a guy from HTC service, about this really annoying problem with the shrinking SD storage.
He said that he had heard about this before, but just from a few customers.
He also told me to be patient for the next days because an update will come.
Hopefully, HTC has fixed this problem by then.
Greetings to all of you!

i think a similar thread was posted not too long ago. makes one wonder what they actually mean when they say "soon"

Yeah well as we don't have 1.29 yet, don't hold your breath!!

HTC Desire update 2nd of June!?

I rang Orange Uk, as my phone keeps sending the incoming calls to the voicemail even when its on 3G, and after 30 minutes arguing with an ignorant woman who said that that was happening cos my phone was unlock by a third party and not by Orange, I managed to talk with a supervisor and he said that Htc is about to release an update on the 2nd of June that will resolved many issues on the new Desires and if after that release my phone is still not working he will give me a new one.(sure...)
I doubt the "new update" will clear my problem as i find out is hardware problem rather than a software problem,BUT What kind update is HTC about to release? was the Supervisor taken the mickey out of me?? Dont know, just wanna share the info with you guys in case its true
BUT What kind update is HTC about to release?

This rumour keeps getting earlier and earlier.. The official HTC statement was any time up to December this year for the Froyo update.

With that said, Google also announced Gingerbread would be released around christmas.
It's not froyo.
HTC just released an update on Vodafone UK, too. Apparently it fixed the facebook/unknown contact issue, as well as a couple of other problems.
This is most likely a network specific update, containing the same bug fixes.

Yep, picked this one up myself yesterday. An update a few days later from Orange, it's likely the same one
Any major changes? I'm on Meteor in Ireland so I haven't got it.
I read that they've added a high quality option in the HTC Flash player. Anything else?
just an update to fix bugs, is not that hard hard to understand huh?
Damn... maybe I should have stayed with my Orange ROM afterall? I don't dare flash a radio at this stage what with all the talk of USB bricking...
I keep reading this term - radio. Can someone explain?

Think of them as driver packages for the phones internal transmitters (Cellular, Wifi, bluetooth etc.)
The latest Desire radio (.16 iirc) apparently gives better HSDPA signal and battery life
A concern
Im actually a little worried about my new desire... The thing is that its branded by orange and im not using it on orange, infact not even in UK...so i was wondering that would i be able to receive OTA?
Secondly Ive realized that ive made a big mistake getting an Orange branded phone with all the bloatware..So if i install a custom rom or even the stock HTC rom..will i be able to get the OTA?
Thanks.

[Q] next unrevoked release??

does anyone know when the next release for unrevoked is due? The current one is 3.3 i believe...
once a new exploit is found, they will probably release a new version.
well i know that much...i meant like any guesses or estimates at a date. anyone?
I'd tell you to go ask the Unrevoked guys, but their IRC Title is don't ask.....

I nricked my phone. Bad. Lost everything after having flashed roms for half a year on the evo. Brought it in to a Sprint store, the manager there was an ex employee of mine, who I fired. But she got a better job, so she was actually grateful. So much so that she wrote my phone off as a software issue and put me in to receive a phone in two days. I did, and anxiously pushed the ota through(it was the Friday it became available). Stupid me, I had no way of gaining root. So luckily I found out this refurbished phone had a hdmi port problem, it would not read the signal without wiggling the cord around. I called up Sprint, told them I wanted a new phone( thus was after I brought it in to two different stores to try to have it downgraded to group, unsuccessfully) and they said no problem, eight to ten days, due to a border. I NICELY asked for a new phone, not a refurbished one. Three days layer, today, I got my phone. Brand new with a manufacture date of 6/02/11. Excited but nervous, I booted up, went to hardware info, viola! Android 2.2
Back in business. Rooted a few minutes later, and am now downloading Kings newest version of 3.0
As far as waiting for unrevoked, I was willing to. I appreciate all development persons who make my phone better. So sit tight homie, or find a workaround yourself. Let those who provide us with things we can't do ourselves work on their own time. Asking for a time or date is expecting service you dont deserve. Off puttish, really...

Lol great story.the whole reason I started this thread is because I can't find a release date anywhere. I very much appreciate what the devs do for us on the evos, my phone lasts 24 hours plus cause of them
Asking us about Unrevoked is like asking a Brick Layer about Photoshop keyboard shortcuts and the effect of color dodge on a 3 color gradient

Idea to get back to 3.70, possibly earlier?

Alright, not sure if this has been gone over or not. What would happen if a person complained enough to Sprint or HTC about how much they dislike the GB update, would they have a way to revert you back to Froyo. Tell them you are not at all happy with the new system and you want to undo the update. Would they just tell you to go pound sand? I am almost thinking it would have to be a direct complaint to HTC, not?
Send a email to H T C
I did shortly after making the post. Just trying to find out if anyone else had tried to appeal to them on it. I will post any response from them I receive.
Better yet, send them an email asking for them to put hot naked ladies for our backgrounds on our evos and also to root them for us. :-D

According to multiple sprint reps/techs that I have talked to, they do not have the tools to downgrade back to Froyo. Doubt calling HTC would help, they will probably just say since it is software, Sprint is responsible.

I guess I must have missed this somewhere, Sprint develops the software, not HTC? Now I'm officially confused!
been there, done that..
just go check out their tweeter feeds, lots of people DID complain
i personally spoke to a customer service guy , he fed me the "trying to downgrade would make your phone innoperable" line, and basically he said sprint doesnt have the capability to do it , and htc will simply claim not to be able to do it, you are welcome to do it though, enough complaining and maybe one of the higher ups decides its worht a listen , but to be honest, root will be here long before that happens, somone already found an exploit, its a matter of making stable and usable to the public

partly true in the sense that sprint has final say on what software to push through to their users, htc develops the sense and phones firmware, but its sprints call on what final os will the devices use, wich is why the bloatware is most of the time uninstallable as its "part of the os" wich sprint pushed, htc makes it but sprint has the final say on approving it and adding whatever the hell they want to it (aka blocking hotspot and such) wich is understandable since they are the ones that have to deal with the customer
Sprint is full of criminals. :-D HTC attempts to do the right thing. :-D Sprint just keeps blocking them. HTC and myself know EXACTLY how to do it. lol. However, we are required by contract law not to spread it do to issues related to lack of a normal customers knowledge. :-D Any of you actually program chips and design circuit boards? What we do, is we find ways around the software... They really go into the chip itself.
No, but the final build that comes to our phone had sprints dirty hands all over it.

I wouldn't put it past sprint employees to illegally put stuff on our phones that would monitor our use. They're that evil. muhahahhahaha
I called my local sprint store right after the ota and asked about downgrading back to froyo. The rep said that i would have to contact the local corporate store and that they could do it. So when i called they said "just bring the phone in here and we will get you back to 2.2" Now whether or not this is true, i dont know. I never took the ota so i'm still rooted. But for those of you that did take the ota or have a new evo you might give this a shot. Knoxville, TN

99.99% chance the store is full of it. If that .01% chance proves true, Knoxville will be seeing a lot more tourism than they usually do.

You are right about them being full of it. When I called again this morning they said absolutely not. She said that all of their software stuff has been updated to 2.3 but that if i had came immediately after the ota then she could have fixed it.
Here was HTC's reply:
Thank you for contacting HTC Technical support about the issues you are having with your device since getting the latest upgrade for it. I do apologize that you are having this issue with your device and I will gladly help you with this. There is no way to revert to the software version that was on the device before the update. I first suggest you do a soft reset by pulling the battery out for about 1 minute then placing the battery back in and booting up your device. If a soft reset does not resolve the issue then you may want to do a factory reset on your device to try to resolve the issue. Factory resetting your device will clear off your device and reset it back to factory settings. If factory resetting the device does not resolve the issue the next step would be to contact your carrier for possible repair or replacement of your device.
Man, that reply is nothing but a big middle finger from HTC.

LMAO
this is the exact response i got, only the guy said "downgrading would make your device innoperable" ....yeah...but the rest of it went exaclty like this ...jokes on them , because if you notice the increasing amoutn of new people on this forum, thats people that will never take an update from htc or their carriers ever again over this fiasco, i never even thought about rooting until i went to try and find a way to go back to froyo from this pos , ended up learing a lot about android and rooting ont his past month ive been waiting for this thing to be cracked , i hope they blew it wide open and they soon add support for our beloved og evo but for now we play the waiting game

Update 1.29.401.11 UK/Ireland OTA Out Now!!!

Right as the only other thread for this update is a "Europe" one, and that HTC obviously thinks the UK is not in Europe, I've started this thread/campaign for comments on this update!
We all know the rest of Europe have got this, so can we please keep this thread UK/Ireland based only!
Come on HTC your UK/Ireland batch of customers are waiting yet again!!!
Please note we are talking about the very latest OTA update here, as per the title of the thread, do not post comments that relate to the earlier update version 1.29.401.7
In other words a post for everyone to say "i've not got the update yet..."
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Well in the spirit of being British I will wait patiently and complain. I've not got it yet. Come on HTC Don't make us wait 2 weeks again.

Can't Ireland start their own thread ?

Update 1.29
I got my 1.29 update yesterday afternoon. Doesn't seem to have sorted anything major.
"Phase Beam" live wallpaper still doesn't work. Now, to wait for 1.30.
I have a unbranded handset. No update for me. Not sure if i want to go down the manual RUU route again.
I just used the RUU, all seems to be OK so far
I got it yesterday on the one I sent back today, and got it straight away when turning on its replacement this afternoon. Both unbranded.
Nope! :-( T-Mobile UK
I'm just going to wait again, 2 weeks will go fast and at least it gets tested by others in europe before we get it.
I've got this mobile for 2 years so couple of weeks is nothing, and I must admit the updates are coming thick and fast compared with the desire I had.
I will be checking couple of times a day though lol

Please read through the threads in the One X Forum.
There are two 1.29.xxx updates the has just received the first one that doesn't fix the flicker, the second one is doing the rounds in Europe but not the UK yet, we have to wait another week
The latest update when it arrives in the UK will be 1.29.401.11 and the flickering will take a little time to sort itself out while the phone monitors voltage over the course of a days/weeks

same here branded phone so it is worse for us who have a branded one and one more thing i am disappointed about is that on my s2 say if i was on gingerbread 2.3.5 and a new custom rom based on 2.3.6 took my fancy i could easily update everything and say i was on the latest and greatest firmware..and that was the same with ICS..on my s2 i was on cm9 4.0.4 now here i do not even know if by flashing the latest custom rom i am actually fully updated or not hence why i am pissed off about
Wonder how long we will have to wait this time & i also wonder if HTC have thought up any new excuses for why we are waiting.
We need to find out why UK is being delayed all the time, HTC should give answers!
The first OTA (1.28) was received at the same time as everyone else - however, these two 1.29 updates have both been delayed.
... I hope its not a trend for the UK.

Signal drops, please help.

Hello rely on my phone, and need to be accessible 24 hours. I was on a note 3 and the signal was excellent, but the g3 the signal has been appalling. I am on version 10h Europe and just getting data connection drops. What is the solution please and is it easy to change the modem, to one that's better and also what modem should I consider please.
+1 here and very sad that no one replied you till now. It is a big problem and it is strange that LG has not solve it till now. Many users complained from this issue since the device launch and despite the several OTA we have since then, the problem still there. Someone claimed that it should be solved in an August OTA, but no hope till now.
