Red Triangle of Death

I tried going into Recovery mode after following the How To Root And Unlock Nand Without A PC Or ADB!!! guide...(no one mentioned it didn't work with 1.47)
and when it went into Recovery mode, it sent me to the red triangle. Now my phone won't turn off or anything.
I am so angry right now. Someone please tell me what to do. Do I have to pull out the battery or what??

Yeah, won't work with the latest update. That's the stock recovery you're seeing, nothing bad, if you hold the volume up and power key down at the same time you'll be taken to the stock Android recovery. Use jiqqaman's simple root program to root your Evo.

Full brick? Help please!

EDIT: Not even close to a brick. Removing SD solved it. Able to boot into cwm recovery now.
OTA wiped out Dinc2. When booting to recovery - holding volume button down - I get HBOOT but it won't let me scroll through menu. HBOOT proceeds directly to an update, and reboots phone. Only have about 20 seconds when phone is up, so not enough time to freeze com.smithmicro.dm or rename otacerts.zip.
Windows is not recognizing the phone whatsoever. Shows "unknown device". Re-installed drivers from here: http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe but no love.
Is this a full brick?
Is there an ODIN like tool for the Dinc2?
Do you have radio on your sd card? If you do you need to delete it or pull your sd before booting into bootloader. This way you can get into recovery

Thank you.
I feel like a complete retard. Having used the Nexus S primarily over the last few months, I thought this phone had an internal HD like the Nexus S does. Doh!! Found SD, removed it, and was able to boot into clockwork.
I think I can take it from here.
Yeah... dumb... thanks all.

glad you got it resolved. This thread should be deleted, as to not scare away future root users of being bricked.(or change the title) this was FAR from it. OP just needs some more time with HTC phones and root and you'll be a pro in no time!

[Q] Cannot connect One x to PC

Hey all!
I'm a NOOB!...
I have rooted my phone, following some video on YouTube.. All went fine, then a friend told me to install Cmod 9.. Which would not allow me to boot into recovery. Anyway he did something to enable recovery, which has now left my phone in a state where I cannot connect to the computer.. The phone also has nothing on it to recover to, as it was wiped (silly I know). My question is, is there anyway to force connect to my pc, so I can upload a new ROM or am I completely stranded?
I know there are some pros out there and I would love to hear from you

Thanks a lot my friend!
So for anyone else experiencing this problem
First of all I had no back up, I erased everything off of my phone and when physically connected to the pc, my device was not shown..(Unless I left it at the HTC logo, but only here my device would show up in faded grey in 'My Computer', when selected it would say 'device not ready!'
Once following the steps kindly provided above by Jonas2295 (Thank you)
Flash your recovery.
Boot into the boot loader by holding power + volume down button, until it resets into the boot menu.
Select recovery, navigate your way to ..... + Mount (I cannot remember, you will find it though)
Mount USB Storage
I found that my phone would only show up as a valid storage device on my PC when staying in that setting.. So do no navigate away from the 'mount USB Storage' setting once you have enabled it! Until you have transferred your new ROM on board.
I first used Coredroid, but that kept getting stuck at the beats logo. So I tried 'arhd' (Android Revolution HD)..
Once installing it did not look promising, as it staying at the HTC logo for about 5 minutes, then it came into play.
I now have a working HTC again
So thanks to again to Jonas2295 and hopefully by me asking this question, maybe more silly people like me can fix their HTC's
Good Luck!
You are welcome
Glad I could help you out if this situation!
Enjoy your recovered one x.

Try booting into hboot, volume up + power. If you can get that far, it should be simples.
Also, more info for couldn't hurt. ROM, kernel, inspire 4G or Desire HD, root?
There's two threads in my signature, post in them and resident Hardware/brick expert Glevitan will help you
If I helped, hit that thanks button!

You do what Guy said... Turn off the phone, the hold volume + power keys... After a few seconds it should show a white screen with colorful writing and the Android on a skateboard at the bottom. This is your hboot screen... I believe it's the interface with your bootloader, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
You can flash several different kinds of files from here to help you out of a jam or change things, such as the PD98IMG.zip that was mentioned earlier... This is just an "update" zip that hboot looks for on your SD card when it loads... I'm not that familiar with the process because I have never used it, but plenty of info is out there... The only thing I flashed from hboot was a custom splash screen.
Anyway, back on topic... What Guy was saying is that if you can get your phone to boot into hboot by turning it off and holding volume + power, then there are methods to try to get you back up and running.

[Q] HBOOT looking for diagnostic files - how can I stop messages from appearing?

Somehow when I select HBOOT from the bootloader screen, I see the following messages appear. Does anyone know how to clear these? They don't seem to affect the behavior of the ROM. I'm running Venom 1.5.0 at the moment and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I did to cause this. Thanks in advance.
Messages from highlighting HBOOT and pressing the power button to select it:
SD checking
no gift file
loading 0P6BDIAG.zip
No image!
loading 0P6BDIAG.nbh
No image or wrong image
I even went so far as to restore a backup I had of stock which needed an upgrade, restored the stock recovery, locked the bootloader, and took the upgrade. Still no change in this behavior. It's as though a flag was turned on such that the bootloader thinks it needs to run diagnostics. The only thing that I know that I did was to do a factory reset including wiping all of /data, including the sd card content.
They are normal for an HTC phone.
My HTC Desire that I had about 4 years ago did the same.
I wouldn't worry about it.

This happens both connected with USB and without. I have a second M8 that does not exhibit this problem. It's something that I've done and I can't figure out how to undo it. Thanks again.
If the second m8 doesn't do it then there is something wrong with it. That action you are describing it normal when selecting hboot. It's kinda like a failsafe recovery mode.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
It's normal, there's nothing wrong. HTC Phones do that in HBoot.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It's not a problem, it's normal behaviour for an HTC phone.
If you have one that isn't doing it then that's the one that's weird.

Thank you everyone who responded.
Try taking your sd card out and then booting into hboot, does it still do it. I remember when I had my desire z, it used to do that with the sd card in, would be checking for a firmware update file or something.

Amazing! Something so simple!!!!! That was it. After pulling my sd card the message went away! I don't know why I did not notice this before, and that is the difference between the two M8's that we own, one has an sd card installed and the other does not. Placing the sd card in the second device then generates the same messages when selecting hboot.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for reply!!!!

Your welcome. Just make sure you don't have any files named the same as the ones it says it's trying to load, else it will try to load them and may break your phone if there not correct. But don't panic, you won't have these files on your sd card unless you specifically put them there. I just remember from when I had my HTC desire z, this would be how you would go about updating your firmware.
